I have been using TextWrangler on MacOSX and I love it. It's that remote editing feature that really does it for me.   • SSH connection via USB to iPhone

    Hi, I want to connect to the SSH server on my jailbreaked iPhone via the USB connection (because that connection is much faster than WLAN) from MacOSX. Right now I am using this: http://novis.jimdo.com/2009/10/18/ssh-relay-aka-iphone-tunnel-version-3/ However, this is really buggy and always breaks when I am transfering a lot of data. Does anyone know a better solution? Preferable one that is free.

    When I make a software update, the files are downloaded on my MacBook's internal hard disk. How can I set a different hard disk as default? I suppose the files related to the software update are compressed packages that have to be saved, opened and decompressed.     I have been using a MacOSX system for a while, but just only recently started poking into the guts. I found a guide telling me to run 'sudo ranlib /usr/local/lib/libjpeg.a'(installing libjpeg). I have read the ranlib manual, and tried looking online on it. I simply don't understand. What resources do I need to look up to learn more, or can someone give a concise explanation on its use?     Hello, I have a RS232C/USB cable to connect an electronic device to my iMac Intel (MacOSX SnowLeo 10.6.3). Is there a utility program that allows for sending ASCII characters on the USB port that the RS232C device will understand? If possible, I'd rather avoid programming. I'd prefer an Automator script or a simple program with a GUI. Thanks

    Hi All, I have a Telerik RadEditor on the sharepoint and iam unable to edit the webpart. How can i edit the webpart, please suggest. The “Edit” option is not visible although i have clicked on “edit page” from site actions. IMP:- the webpart uses 3 images all of which are of size 567X113 pixels. When restart my linux the above command is not working and it show unknown command "JAVA_PATH", I can't able to boot in GUI mode, I can boot only in terminal mode, How to delete the file (.bash_profile in /root) ?     I fell into a snare when i downloaded and install virtual box 4.0 on my ubuntu 10.4, when i started the virtualbox i tried i saw that my network icon on my desktop showed my red x showing iam disconnected and this happened shortily when i installed virtual box 4.0 I have searched through the web and found some people who have faced some problem. but the solution they gave them i tried but it coudn't work, of restarting,starting ,stoping the netowrk manager, i was even thinking of uninstalling this virutalbox but not netowrk connection truely i need your help

    How can I make a bootable backup of my Mac's internal hard drive to be restored using Disk Utility, without formatting my external destination drive as HFS+ (it's FAT32, of course)? Time Machine and SuperDuper both require that the volume where the backup is saved be HFS+ formatted. This looks helpful: http://developer.apple.com/macosx/backuponmacosx.html But it doesn't explain how to use FAT32 disk.

  • Virtually adjusting screen size and position

    Hi, I'm working on a display piece which is an LCD monitor that is partially covered and needs to be running an application in full screen in the uncovered portion of the screen. I have tried xvidtune on linux which gives me mode errors and switchresx on macosx which only seems to change resolution but not reposition nor resize (it stretches to full screen anyways). I'm wondering if there's anyway to do this? Practically, I have access to any OS.

  • ping preload is not permitted, what could be the reason?

    I am trying to ping one of my local host and checking CPU process to see how "Ping of death" attack behaves. I tried to ping my other PC which is in local network with 192.168.44.2 IP Address. I tried this, ping -l 5000 192.168.44.2 and I got error like this, ping: -l flag: Operation not permitted I am on MacOSX Lion. How can I remove this flag so machine can let me ping with preload?   • Why did Apple remove Python support in Mavericks, aka Mac OS X 10.9?

    Apple has removed Python support (at least on the Developer level) in 10.9. Python IS still on the machine in /System/Library/Frameworks/Python.framework... but trying to link to Python using the 10.9 SDK fails. /Applications/Xcode.app/Contents/Developer/Platforms/MacOSX.platform/Developer/SDKs/MacOSX10.9.sdk/System/Library/Frameworks does not have Python. I'm not a Pythonista, but find it interesting that Apple has made this change. I don't understand why this is done and I'm a bit annoyed that I have to remove Python from my compilation units in order to compile with 10.9 SDK. Is this a statement by Apple, along the lines of "People aren't using Python very much anymore so we're going to phase out support"? Or was something else driving the change?

  • Crashing/freezing problems with an Aspire One 722

    After several annoying points with installing ubuntu 11.10 on my acer aspire one 722 i finally made this run. After installing i had freeze issues and solved them by putting network boot on first priority on the bios. Yesterday all worked fine, no problems with wlan etc. But today all is crashing down. Atm iam at the university and tried to log into the public wlan. With that came : i cannot shut down, terminal is not working, very slow perfomance, some apps are starting like libre office, some not like system manager, buttons are not reacting, wlan symbol is spinning all the time. Any suggestions i can do?

    I have made a class including variables in Monodevelop which is: public class GridInfo : MonoBehaviour { public float initPosX; public float initPosY; public bool inUse; public int f; public int g; public int h; public GridInfo parent; public int y,x; } Now I am using its class variable in another class, Map.cs which is: public class Map : MonoBehaviour { public static GridInfo[,] Tile = new GridInfo[17, 23]; void Start() { Tile[0,0].initPosX = initPosX; //Line 49 } } Iam not getting any error on runtime, but when I play in unity it is giving me error NullReferenceException: Object reference not set to an instance of an object Map.Start () (at Assets/Scripts/Map.cs:49) I am not inserting this script in any gameobject, as Map.cs will make a GridInfo type array, I have also tried using variables using GetComponent, where is the problem ?
