• Redmine error undefined local variable 'usage' when recieving email

  I posted this on the Redmine forum about 20 days ago but am having no luck finding an answer, so I thought I'd see if I can find some love here: Somewhere during an upgrade to RM I lost the ability to have RM receive email. It was running just beautifully on 8.5. Some while back I upgraded and was not using the receive email feature for some time. At 9.2 and, now, 0.9.3.stable.3625, I'm getting an error in the procmail.log file: undefined local variable or method `usage' for #<RedmineMailHandler:0x6c14d34bb0a0> (NameError) I have a SVN install and used it, just tonight, to update the the 9.3 stable version. I walked through all the upgrade steps and everything seems to work fine, except for this. In rdm-redminehandler.rb I commented out the offending 'usage' line and got another error: 422 Unprocessable Entity

  I have a simple Flash just put in for an facebook app. it is so simple that only one frame and one text box. that's all. I have this <fb:fbjs-bridge/> <fb:swf swfsrc="http://path/test2.swf" width="100" height="100" /> <script> <!-- --> </script> and I have no error to show the flash in Firefox & Chrome. But in IE, I get this: VerifyError: Error #1033: Cpool entry 36 is wrong type. ReferenceError: Error #1065: Variable FBJS is not defined. What happen? what does it mean? :)

  I was unable to find any reference to this in the documentations... Is assigning to a double (or any other simple type, including boolean) an atomic operation viewed from the perspective of threads? double value = 0; public void First() { while(true) { value = (new Random()).NextDouble(); } } public void Second() { while(true) { Console.WriteLine(value); } } In this code sample, first method is called in one thread, and the second in another. Can the second method get a messed up value if it gets its execution during assignment to the variable in another thread? I don't care if I recieve the old value, it's only important to receive a valid value (not one where 2 out of 8 bytes are set). I know it's a stupid question, but I want to be sure, cause I don't know how CLR actually sets the variables. Thanks

I am using Membership.GetUser().ProviderUserKey to obtain the UserId of the logged in user and I would like to only show record that have this UserId as a foreign key. How can I write the SQL for this?   I know that some people consider the presence of a leading underscore to imply that a variable is "private," that such privacy is a fiction, and assume this is why JSLint reports such names with an error message. I use Google Analytics on a Web site I am building. I make reference to GA's variables, such as "_gaq." I am trying to get my JS code to be 100% JSLint clean (I'm not religious about my coding style, and so will go with Mr. Crockford's counsel). That said, I can't do anything about Google's variables names... so, I guess I can't get 100% "clean." I post here in case I've misunderstood the message, and can do something to comply with JSLint practices.

  I have a quite complicated query which will by built up dynamically and is saved in a variable. As second part i have another normal query and i'd like to make an inner join between these both. To make it a little more easier here is a little example to illustrate my problem. For this little example i used the AdventureWorks database. • iPhone NSXMLParser parsing string and storing in a NSNumber variable and different data types

  Hi, I am trying to parse a XML File using NSXMLParser, I also have a Container class, in which I have a few instance variables. One of the elements that I am trying to parse in the XML is: <book sn="32.859669048339128" pn="-116.917800670489670"> I am trying to save the value of sn and pn in an instance variable of object Container: NSNumber *sn, NSNumber *pn. I want it so that when my parser get the attributeValues it can save it as a Double (or float) in those NSNumber pointers. Right now, all it does it just saves a string to the NSNumber. The Parser Code looks like this: if([elementName isEqualToString:@"book"]){ container = [[Container alloc] init]; container.sn=[attributeDict objectForKey:@"sn"]; container.pn=[attributeDict objectForKey:@"pn"]; } I want it so that the type of container.sn is initialized to a float or double. • SQL Server, temporary tables with truncate vs table variable with delete

  I have a stored procedure inside which I create a temporary table that typically contains between 1 and 10 rows. This table is truncated and filled many times during the stored procedure. It is truncated as this is faster than delete. Do I get any performance increase by replacing this temporary table with a table variable when I suffer a penalty for using delete (truncate does not work on table variables) Whilst table variables are mainly in memory and are generally faster than temp tables do I loose any benefit by having to delete rather than truncate?

• When is calculating or variable-reading faster?

  hi, to be honest, I don't really know what the "small green men" in my cpu and compiler do, so I sometimes would like to know :). Currently I would like to know what's faster, so that I can design my code in a more efficient way. So for example I want to calclate something at different points in my sourcecode, when will it be faster to calculate it once and store it in a variable that's read and used for the next points it's needed and when is it faster to calculate it everytime? I think it's depending on how "complex" and "long" the calculation is and how fast then cache is, where variables are stored, but I don't have any clue what's faster :). Thanks for any reply to my tiny but important question! Andreas PS: perhaps it's important to know that I code in JAVA, but it's more a genral question.

• Wrapping variable width text in emacs lisp

  I am hacking up a tagging application for emacs. I have got a tag cloud/weighted list successfully displaying on a buffer, but i am running into a snag. I need to be able to properly word-wrap the buffer, but I haven't a clue where to start. The font I am using is a variable width font. On top of that, each tag is going to be in a different size, depending on how many times it shows up on the buffer. Finally, the window that displays the tagcloud could be in a window that is 200 pixels wide, or the full screen width. I really have no idea where to start.   Hi, I am building a web application using Symfony 1.4 and Doctrine for a school and I want to make a very simple form to add a course to a student. The main problem I have is that in the drop down list I only want to show the courses in which the student is currently not enrolled. I already have a function in the model (in Student.class.php) which returns all the courses in which the student is not enrolled but the problem is I don't know how to pass the student to the configure() of the form. I have tried several options like passing it with the constructor of the form to a global variable or a special set method but none of them have worked. Is there any form to pass the student to the configure() method? Thanks!

  I am trying to reference a javascript function in a .js file loaded in my main page from an iframe using the 'top' variable. It works in FF, Safari, and IE6 but not in IE8. The snippet is (assigned to onmouseover): top.set_image(this, 'images/login_h.png') Where set_image is my function. The error is "Object does not support this function" Also, I have been looking for the definition of top. I can't find it in the ECMAScript specification or the w3schools site and Google is unhelpful (who'da thunk top was a common word?).

  Ok i'm working on a project for a 200 level C# course, we are required to create a heads or tails project. Basically the project is setup so that the computer will guess randomly up to 5 times, but on the sixth time it will look into the playersGuessHistory variable setup as a string to see if it can find a match for a pattern of 4 entires, if there is a pattern found the computer will guess the next character after the pattern EX: [HHTT]H [HHTTH]H HHTT being the pattern then the computer would guess H for the next turn. My only problem is that i'm having difficulty setting up the project so that it will look through the playersguesshistory and find the patterns and guess the next character in the history. Any suggestions?

  The MSDN site says: From your view class's function that handles the WM_CREATE message (typically OnCreate), call the new member variable's Register member function. Revoke will be called automatically for you when your view is destroyed. But I don't have an OnCreate function in the ChildView class. I do have OnCreate in the CMainFrame class. Can I register it there? What are the ramifications? PLEASE NOTE: I have it working for dropping files but I want to drop the text as a file, not at a cursor location like a text cut and paste, but rather I want the application to make a buffer to hold it, and I will treat it like a file.
