  • Is having both MS Access 2003 and 2007 on the same computer possible?

    I have Microsoft Office 2003 first in my computer and since we are on the migration stage to Microsoft Access 2007, I also installed the Microsoft Access 2007 in the same computer. Now I have the 2003 and 2007 in my PC. Do you think it will cause any problem if I do the migration, that I have the two version of the Access in the computer? Additional Question: I'm just wondering why I'm getting the below window every time I open the Microsoft Access 2003 Microsoft Access 2007. It's really strange. Before I was able to open it after I install the Office 2007 after 3 days it just started this strange thing. I don't have any clue.

  • How to clear cache for previously installed InfoPath forms on a client computer?

    Hi folks, We recently had a strange issue with an InfoPath 2007 form being opened from SharePoint 2007 and receiving the error message "the system cannot find the file specified". To be clear, this was not a form services enabled form. Anyway, after spending way too much time trying to figure out what was going on (nothing in the MOSS 2007 server log files), we determined that the user had previously installed an older version of the form (but with the same name) on their workstation using a no longer available msi file (meaning we could not uninstall it from the workstation). So I wanted to pass on a very simple solution for anyone who is unfortunate to run into this problem in the future (since I lost a great deal of hair over it): Fire up regedit, go to HKEY_LOCALMACHINE-Software-Microsoft-Office-InfoPath-SolutionsCatalog. Locate the key that has the previously installed form name, and delete it. This will cause InfoPath to stop trying to open the form locally (which is either old or doesn't exist) and force it to open your form from SharePoint. Hope this helps someone!

  • Migrating MOSS 2007 from SQL 2000 to SQL 2005 - Addendum

    This is a continuation of an earlier question I had about moving the databases for a MOSS 2007 installation from SQL 2000 to SQL 2005. Here's the URL for the original question: http://stackoverflow.com/questions/254517/migrating-moss-2007-from-sql-2000-to-sql-2005 In my test environment, I've successfully moved the databases to the SQL 2005 test machine and things appear to be working fine. But, on the "Servers in Farm" page of the Central Admin | Operations, it still shows the old (i.e. SQL 2000) server as the Configuration Database Server. Also, it shows the old config database as being the Configuration Database. I know that the SQL2000 server and old config database (that are showing on this page) are NOT being used, because we've deactived the SQL instance in SQL2000. I've tried "removing" the server, and get a message about "Uninstalling SharePoint products and technologies" being the better route. So, I disconnected from the test databases, uninstalled SharePoint from the test WFE server, and reinstalled it. That didn't do anything. Before uninstalling/reinstalling I also tried simply rerunning the SharePoint Configuration wizard, and that didn't do anything either. Does anyone know how to update the Config Server and Config Database on the "Servers in Farm" page after having moved the Config and Content DBs? Is there something I'm missing or overlooking?   • Developing ASP.Net User Control to be imported to SharePoint MOSS 2007

    Apologies if this has been answered, but I could not find a similar question: I am developing a webpart for MOSS 2007. I am using WSPBuilder to built a visual webpart (ascx) and everything works fine, but the development/debug cycle is just painfully slow, so I'd like to know if it is possible (without being too painful) to develop the user control faster using an .Net Web Application project with all of the nice F5 debugging, then import the final product into my SharePoint visual webpart. The user control interacts with a LOB system (SQL) and does not reference the SharePoint API at all. (The reason I am building this as a webpart is because I don't need another web app to run this one page, so putting it into a webpart on a new webpart page on my existing site is the best solution IMO.) I would obviously need to import (reference?) my data access classes into my "temp" web app, but think that would not be too much trouble. I realize this will be extra effort to get this set up, but am thinking the payoff will be reduced development time of the actual user control using a little web application vs having to use the compile/build WSP/deploy WSP/reset ISS/test/make a change/repeat cycle that MOSS requires. (I guess SP2010/VS2010 has spoiled me with the native SharePoint tools available.)

The "test account settings" says it's all good. I click NEXT and ... THE REQUESTED OPERATION FAILED No explanation, nothing else.

    Hi, I was wondering if there's a way to get a word count that excludes text with a specific Style in a Microsoft Word 2007 document? I've seen this related question, but I've got blocks of source code scattered throughout which would mean I'd have to go through each of my documents a section at a time.. Does anyone know a way to do this with a macro or a splash of VB Script or some such? Thanks you!

    At work we are running Surgemail. The desktop mail client is Outlook which downloads mail over POP3, and so email is stored on users desktops in PST files. Looking at the features of Surgemail compared to Exchange 2007 can anyone provide a convincing argument to change? The argument must be user related or disaster recovery related they can not be about administration of the system.

    I don't believe this has been asked before, and I'm curious, Is there any way to change the default font in MS Word 2010 beta? Or MS Word 2007? I'm getting really tired of changing fonts every time I write a document. I simply don't like the Calibri font and change it every time... and it's getting annoying. Thanks.

    Given a text file containing and outline with tabs to indent each level, I would like to import this into a Word 2007 document so that the each indentation level is converted to a H1, H2, etc heading level. I tried copy pasting the text into the outline view and opening the text file via File, Open. Both did not give the expected result.     Is there going to be a release of SBS 2008 that includes Exchange 2010? I want to take this into consideration as I might purchase SBS for the premium edition to get Sql Server at a much more cost effective rate but it feels like I would be getting shorted if I purchase SBS 2008 and receive Exchange 2007 since it is now outdated to 2010.

Organizer only sees himself and 3rd party person in Attendee list.     Hello, I have a list of date/timestamps, and I would like to plot these to a chart in Excel. What I'm looking for is a chart that shows "events per hour" or something similar. Can this be done easily if I just have one column of data (the list of timestamps)? I'm using excel 2007 and looking at two data sets. I want to open each presentation in ITS OWN, SEPARATE WINDOW, like in MS-Word how you can have two documents open and they'd be in two separate, draggable windows.
