  • Recommendation for a non-standard SSL port

    Hey guys, On our server I have a single IP, and need to host 2 different SSL sites. Sites have different owners so have different SSL certificates, and can't share the same certificate with SAN. So as a last resort I have modified the web application to give the ability to use a specified port for secure pages. For its simple look I used port 200. However I'm worried about some visitors may be unable to see the site because of their firewalls / proxies blocking the port for ssl connections. I heard some people were unable to see the website, a home user and someone from an enterprise company, don't know if this was the reason. So, any recommendations for a non-standard SSL port number (443 is used by the other site) which may work for visitors better than port 200 ? Like 8080 or 8443 perhaps? Thanks!

    Hi, I need to change this so that one file in wp-admin is not forced through https: # add a trailing slash to /wp-admin RewriteCond %{REQUEST_URI} ^.*/wp-admin$ RewriteRule ^(.+)$ https://%{SERVER_NAME}/$1/ [R=301,L] This forces all requests to /wp-admin through SSL but it is breaking a wordpress plugin which needs to access wp-admin/admin-ajax.php. Is there a way to adjust the rule so that it will allow non encrypted requests to that one file? thanks!

  • Serving static web files off a non-standard port

    I'm close to deploying a Django project to production. I'm looking over some infrastructure decisions. Something that came up was serving static files with a different server such as lighttpd. However, we're starting off with a single dedicated server so our only option would be to use a non-standard port for the static file webserver. Is there precedence for this? I.e. Does anyone "big" do this? Any particular port I should use or shy away from using? Can anyone thing of some downsides of going this route?

    EUSM is a command line tool that can be used to manage the EUS settings starting with the 11.1 release of Oracle. In the 11.1 release the tool is not yet documented in the Oracle EUS documentation, but this is planned for a coming release.   • How do you move an admin menu item in Magento

    I currently have an extension that I created and it currently sits inside of its own top level menu. I would like to move it so that the item would appear inside of the Customers menu. Does anyone know how to do this? It looks like this is handled inside the extensions config.xml file. The code that I have for it right now is as follows: <menu> <testimonials module="testimonials"> <title>Testimonials</title> <sort_order>71</sort_order> <children> <items module="testimonials"> <title>Manage Items</title> <sort_order>0</sort_order> <action>testimonials/adminhtml_testimonials</action> </items> </children> </testimonials> </menu> I tried changing the title element to Customers and it just created a duplicate Customers menu.   • Non-ECC memory with ZFS: a stupid idea?

    I'm the proud new owner of an HP Proliant Microserver N40L, and planning to upgrade the (obviously paltry 2 GB of) memory to the maximum of 16 GB. (Theoretically 8 GB is the limit, but empirically 16 GB has been shown to work.) Some guides advise that ECC memory is not that important, but I'm not so sure I believe this. I've installed FreeNAS and am planning to add ZFS volumes as soon as my new hard drives arrive. Would it be stupid to skimp and get non-ECC memory for a ZFS-based NAS? If it's necessary, then I'll bite the bullet, but if it's just paranoia, then I'll probably skip it.

    Hello, I'm having the following problem. I'm installing SharePoint 2010 Beta so I need to activate the windows feature "Windows Communication Foundation Non-HTTP Activation". The problem is I cannot activate it, i get the message: "An error has occurred. Not all features were successfully changed" When i look at the log (C:\Windows\Logs\CBS\CBS.log) I found this error: Process output: [l:186 [186]"SMConfigInstaller[Error]: Failed in calling 'StartService' for service 'NetTcpActivator'. Error code: 0x8007042c Anyone can give me a clue of what is happening here?

    I have read lots of questions about i18n, but I haven't found any about performance. I have a simple backend app listing the contents of an ads table. These ads have a category, that is translated in some languages (it's defined as i18n in the Doctrine schema). So, when I add a "table_method" in my generator.yml to include de Category table, it reduces the number of queries, but there are yet some of them referencing i18n translation tables. So, if I add the category Translation table to the query, it reduces even more the queries BUT it increases the processing time considerably. Why this time penalty? Just because of the translation table? And why isn't the filter using this method to avoid so many translation queries as well? I mean, if I want to filter by category, it is making one query per category to include the translation table. Why??

However, while an input in an app does output the text properly, same input in another app does not output the text properly -it outputs the <p> <li> tags etc... Our goal is to create an auto-responder rule, or template that fires at sender. I have created a mail-enabled public folder, with owner permissions for each group member.     I am using Mail.app in OS X 10.7. In a text file I have a list with 500 different email addresses, extracted from my address book, each one in a different line. I would like to send some christmas. So I prepared a text template and I would like to send same text in an email to each recipient, just to each one. So I wonder if using some scripting this could be done in a non-interactive way in OS X. In Linux I think this could be done using "mutt".

  • Blittable Vs. Non-Blittable in IL

    I'm trying to make sure that my Managed to Unmanaged calls are optimized. Is there a quick way to see by looking at the IL if any non-blittable types have accidentally gotten into my pinvoke calls? I tried just writing two unmanaged functions in a .dll, one that uses bool (which is non-blittable) and one that uses ints. But I didn't see anything different when looking at the IL to let me know that it was doing something extra to marshal the bool.
