• Where are Silverlight assemblies stored when a xap file is run?

  We currently have a XAP file which contains Foo.dll, and another XAP file (with a completely different name) which contains an updated version Foo.dll (but the same version number). When we run the second XAP file, it looks as though the Silverlight runtime on the client, is picking up the old version of Foo.dll from the first XAP file. Anyone know where the Silverlight runtime unzips the xap file before running its content? Or if the runtime executes on a single app domain which could explain these errors?

• Is it possible to create a Mono bundle that includes WPF libraries?

  I know WPF libraries aren´t implemented by mono class library, however(as far as I know) the mono 2.6 runtime is fully compatible with the .NET 2.0/3.5 runtime, so if the WPF libraries only make PInvoke calls to windows api it is theoretically possible to run a wpf application on windows using the mono runtime. The reason for wanting that is deploying a wpf application as a standalone executable for windows. Has anyone tried something like that before? If so, what were the results?

• How to dynamically modify NHibernate load queries at runtime? EventListeners? Interceptors?

  I need to modify the query used to load many-to-one references in my model. Specifically, I need to be able to further filter this data. Unfortunately, NH will not allow me to filter many-to-one relationships using the built in filtering system (?). I could just be doing something incorrect. Is there a hook where I can manually and dynamically modify the query used to load the data? Or an alternative to filters that will allow me to specify parameters? Background: I am working with a database that is using a form of revision control, with each entity having a natural ID PK, an EntityId, a RevisionValidTo and RevisionValidFrom field. There may be many rows using the same EntityId, which is the reference for other tables to join on, but the Revision ranges are mutually exclusive. Thus, the relationship is only many-to-one IIF the filter is applied. However, NH offers no way to specify a filter on many-to-one references (they do for collections...)

• UnsatisfiedLinkError on xawt when running HEC-HMS.sh

  I am a recent adopter of Linux and this problem has got me stumped. I use HEC-HMS and HEC-DSSVue for work on a regular basis. I have been using the widows versions in wine but they are really buggy. So I decided to try out the linux versions. the links below will take you to the download pages for these two programs. They are free programs for Hydrology and data management. Once I install them and attempt to run the shell file (HEC-HMS.sh for example) I get a ton of java errors that I do not understand. If I had to guess I would say that the java files in question can not be found. When I check to see if java is installed it is. • ODI 11g - Dynamic and Flexible Code Generation

  ODI supports conditional branching at execution time in its code generation framework. This is a little used, little known, but very powerful capability - this let's one piece of template code behave dynamically based on a runtime variable's value for example. Generally knowledge module's are free of any variable dependency. Using variable's within a knowledge module for this kind of dynamic capability is a valid use case - definitely in the highly specialized area. The example I will illustrate is much simpler - how to define a filter (based on mapping here) that may or may not be included depending on whether at runtime a certain value is defined for a variable. I define a variable V_COND, if I set this variable's value to 1, then I will include the filter condition 'EMP.SAL > 1' otherwise I will just use '1=1' as the filter condition. I use ODIs substitution tags using a special tag '<$' which is processed just prior to execution in the runtime code - so this code is included in the ODI scenario code and it is processed after variables are substituted (unlike the '<?' tag).  So the lines below are not equal ... <$ if ( "#V_COND".equals("1")  ) { $> EMP.SAL > 1 <$ } else { $> 1 = 1 <$ } $> <? if ( "#V_COND".equals("1")  ) { ?> EMP.SAL > 1 <? } else { ?> 1 = 1 <? } ?> When the <? code is evaluated the code is executed without variable substitution - so we do not get the desired semantics, must use the <$ code. You can see the jython (java) code in red is the conditional if statement that drives whether the 'EMP.SAL > 1' or '1=1' is included in the generated code. For this illustration you need at least the ODI 11.1.1.6 release - with the vanilla 11.1.1.5 release it didn't work for me (may be patches?). As I mentioned, normally KMs don't have dependencies on variables - since any users must then have these variables defined etc. but it does afford a lot of runtime flexibility if such capabilities are required - something to keep in mind, definitely.

  AS11 - B2B offering consists of numerous features that have been made available via commandline approach. Most of these are supplement to the already available User Interface based approach. One such is purging of runtime data. The commandline purge option enables the users to purge the runtime data, based on various criteria. This is an ANT based command, provides the flexibility to selectively set the criteria to purge the runtime data. Providing the command line option also enables the administrator to purge in bulk, without visiting the B2B UI, which can also be used for automation purpose By default archival is turned on for purge activity. As a pre-requisite, the respective folder needs to be configured in database with the proper permission. When no filename is provided for archived data, the sysdate will be considered for filename. Below are the various options to purge the runtime data Normal 0 Option ANT option   Message state -Dmsgstate   Date range -Dfromdate,  -Dtodate Format : dd/mm/yyyy hh:mm AM/PM Trading partner -Dtp   Direction -Ddirection   Message Type -Dmsgtype   Agreement Name -Dagreement   IdType/ value -Didtype,  -Didvalue   Archive -Darchive True/false By default true Archive file name -Darchivename File name (optional), will be used when archive is set to true.   I'm using Ubuntu 11.04 and recently installed Appcelerator Titanium Studio version 1.7 When I load up a demo project to run, I get an error like this, Couldn't load file:/home/dananjaya/.titanium/runtime/linux/1.1.0/libkhost.so, error: /home/dananjaya/.titanium/runtime/linux/1.1.0/libwebkittitanium-1.0.so.2: file too short Am I missing some dependencies here or is it a bug in the application?   Oracle has released a new version 11.1.1.7.0 for their Oracle Fusion Middleware product line. This version includes Patch Set #6 (PS6) for Oracle SOA Suite 11g R1, with a big list of improvements and fixes for each component in that suite. In this post we will highlight some of the interesting updates with regards to troubleshooting, performance, reliability and scalability. Infrastructure/Purging scripts Database growth is a common problem for large-scale Oracle SOA Suite deployments. Oracle already provides multiple purging strategies for the SOA Suite runtime database. This patch set includes two new scripts for purging most of the runtime data: Table Recreation Script (TRS): This script can be used to reclaim as much database space as possible, while still retaining the open instances. It can be used as a corrective action for databases that grew excessively, for example when purging was not performed at all. This should be used as a single corrective action only; the script does not replace the normal purging scripts. Truncate script: Remove all records from the SOA Suite runtime tables without dropping the tables. This script can be used for cloning SOA Suite environments without copying the instance data, or for recreating test scenarios by cleaning all the runtime data. The Oracle SOA Suite Administrator's guide contains a table with the available purging strategies. Diagnostic dumps Using WLST you could already dump diagnostic information about various components of the SOA Suite. This version adds support to retrieve more information on BPEL and Adapters from the command-line. Diagnostic dumps for BPEL New diagnostic dumps are available for BPEL to get information on thread pools, average processing time for BPEL components, and average waiting times for asynchronous instances. This information can be very useful for performance analysis or troubleshooting. With WLST this information can be retrieved from the command-line and included for monitoring or reporting. Installing the program works fine, as soon as I go to run it however I get the message Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime. Ultimatly the DLR will enable more niche programming languages, hence I recommend this book to Dot Net teams for when they have a requirement that justifies the effort.

• Runnin Framework 4.0 with Powershell

  I had problems running scripts with Framework 4.0 assemblies I created.  The error I was getting was  Add-Type : Could not load file or assembly 'file:///C:\myDLL.dll' or one of its dependencies. This assembly is built by a runtime newer than the currently loaded runtime and cannot be loaded. I had to add the supported framework to the powershell.exe.config file.<supportedRuntime version="v4.0.30319"/>I still had a problem running the assembly so I had to recompile and set "Generate serialization Assembly" to off.

• Eclipse throwing error when copying and pasting

  I am using Eclipse 3.5 SR2 for Java EE developers. Each time I press control+C or control+V for the first time after I open a file I get an error. After I close the error, I can successfully copy and paste. The error message made me believe that it was related to the Mylyn plugin, but I uninstalled it and still no difference. Has anyone else experience this problem? I also have the subclipse, adobe flex builder, and maven plugins installed. • symfony doctrine build-sql error

  I have some big problems with symfony and doctrine at the beginning of a new project. I have created database diagram with mysql workbench, inserted the sql into phpmyadmin and then I've tried symfony doctrine:build-schema to generate the YAML schema. It generates a wrong schema (relations don't have on delete/on update) and after this I've tried symfony doctrine:build --sql and symfony doctrine:insert-sql The insert-sql statement generates error (can't create table ... failing query alter table add constraint ....), so I've decided to take a look over the generated sql and I've found out some differences between the sql generated from mysql workbench (which works perfect, including relations) and the sql generated by doctrine. I'll be short from now: I have to tables, EVENT and FORM and a 1 to n relation (each event may have multiple forms) so the correct constraint (generated with workbench) is ALTER TABLE `form` ADD CONSTRAINT `fk_form_event1` FOREIGN KEY (`event_id`) REFERENCES `event` (`id`) ON DELETE CASCADE ON UPDATE CASCADE; doctrine generated statement is: ALTER TABLE event ADD CONSTRAINT event_id_form_event_id FOREIGN KEY (id) REFERENCES form(event_id); It's totally reversed and I am sure here is the error. What should I do? It's also correct like this?

• How do I code and compile an Amiga application?

  I would like to program an application for the Amiga, just for fun! Please could someone post a step by step howto based on the following? Exactly what programming tools I should use, are there any already installed? Am I limited to plain text editors, or are there IDEs and debugging tools available? If no tools are already installed, how can this done? Are there free ones? I'd like to learn a traditional Amiga language, could you reccomend one? What should I use to compile the language you suggest? Please could you suggest tools I may use to debug the suggested language? Are there any libraries I should be aware of, such as GUI libraries? Some things to note... I'm running Workbench 3.1 from within the WinUAE emulator. From Workbench, I can access files from my Windows hard drive. I'd like to code and compile it from Workbench if possible. I'm running WinUAE in A1200 mode, not sure if that matters. There's an application already installed called MEmacs. I know C++ and C# very well, maybe there's a similar Amiga language. I'm aware that you can code with C and C++, but I want to learn a new language. I will show examples for the three protocols supported by OIF: SAML 2.0 SSO SAML 1.1 SSO OpenID 2.0 Enjoy the reading! Configuration As I mentioned in my previous article, mapping Federation Authentication Methods to OAM Authentication Schemes is protocol dependent, since the methods are defined in the various protocols (SAML 2.0, SAML 1.1, OpenID 2.0). As such, the WLST commands to set those mappings will involve: Either the SP Partner Profile and affect all Partners referencing that profile, which do not override the Federation Authentication Method to OAM Authentication Scheme mappings Or the SP Partner entry, which will only affect the SP Partner It is important to note that if an SP Partner is configured to define one or more Federation Authentication Method to OAM Authentication Scheme mappings, then all the mappings defined in the SP Partner Profile will be ignored. WLST Commands The two OIF WLST commands that can be used to define mapping Federation Authentication Methods to OAM Authentication Schemes are: addSPPartnerProfileAuthnMethod() to define a mapping on an SP Partner Profile, taking as parameters: The name of the SP Partner Profile The Federation Authentication Method The OAM Authentication Scheme name addSPPartnerAuthnMethod() to define a mapping on an SP Partner , taking as parameters: The name of the SP Partner The Federation Authentication Method The OAM Authentication Scheme name Note: I will discuss in a subsequent article the other parameters of those commands. Line 2 was output from database query select sysdate from dual; Line 3 was output from java code new Date() I have checked from shell date command that line 2 output conforms with OS time. The output of line 3 was mysterious. I don't know how it comes from Java VM. • Error when starting .Net-Application from ThinApp-Application

  one of our customers uses SAP through VMWare ThinApp. In SAP there is a button that launches an .Net application from a server. When starting the .Net-application directly, there is no error. If the user tries to start the application by clicking the button in the ThinApp-Application, it displays the following errors: Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Library R6034 An application has made an attempt to load the C runtime library incorrectly. Please contact the application's support team for more information. After clicking "OK" it displays: Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Library Runtime Error! R6030 - CRT not initialized So, does the customer have to install some components into his ThinApp (if yes, which?) to get things working? Regards, inno ----- [EDIT] ----- @Sean: It's installed the following way: The .exe of the .Net-Application is on a mapped drive on a server. All clients have the requirements installed (.Net-framework for example) and start the .exe from the mapped drive. The ThinApp-Application tries to start this application and throws the mentioned exceptions. AFAIK there are no entry points for this application configured. What I should also mention is: The .Net-Application crashes during execution. That means, we have a debug mode implemented that shows what the application is doing. The application shows what it's doing and after some steps it crashes. The interesting point is: It's a .Net-application, not a C++ Application.
