  • Trouble with codeblocks installation on Ubuntu 9.10

    I installed Code::Blocks on Ubuntu 9.10, but when I start it from terminal, it shows the following error: relocation error: /usr/lib/libcodeblocks.so.0: symbol _Z18wxSafeConvertWX2MBPKw, version WXU_2.8.2 not defined in file libwx_baseu-2.8.so.0 with link time reference What is wrong with it? It seems to me I have installed all necessary libraries. Any ideas? P.S. I am a Linux noobie - so sorry if it is some kind of a well-known mistake.

    Hey guys, I'm trying to write a shell script under linux, which lists all folders (recursively) with a certain name and no symlink pointing to it. For example I have /home/htdocs/cust1/typo3_src-4.2.11 /home/htdocs/cust2/typo3_src-4.2.12 /home/htdocs/cust3/typo3_src-4.2.12 Now I want to go through all subdirectories of /home/htdocs and find those folders typo3_*, that are not pointed to from somewhere. Should be possible with a shellscript or a command, but I have no idea how. Thanks for you help Stefan

    Hi, How can I make an application interface so that a PC application can communicate to an embedded device like a POS terminal? Like for example, an embedded device like POS terminal that has an embedded linux as an OS. Then I want a PC application to communicate in that POS terminal and access its module hardware like for example its magnetic stripe reader.     I'm looking for a UUID library for programming in C, that has a reasonable probability of being installed (or at least installable by package manager) on most modern Linux desktops, and works with pkg-config. The following two possibilities seem most obvious: OSSP UUID Libuuid from e2fsprogs Does anybody have experience with these two and can recommend one over the other, or a third possiblity?

I've seen a couple simple examples that basically say: "open it, mmap it, write pixels to mapped area." But no comprehensive documentation on how to use the different IOCTLS for it anything. I've seen references to "panning" and other capabilities but "googling it" gives way too many hits of useless information.

    I'm working with libpcap in C on linux (centos) and I'm following this guide I want to simply print out the entire packet in ascii and i'v managed to get it working by casting it a u_char* in the "my_callback" function. But I can't figure out how to get the length of the data. strstr didn't work. the header has a len member that you can access to get the size but I can't find anything similar for the *packet being passed. Any help is appreciated.

    I'm looking for a command line program that pretty-prints (that is, indents, adds line breaks to, harmonizes the whitespace of) HTML5 code. It has to run under Linux (in case you're interested, I want to use it as an filter for nanoc). tidy does too much for me (heck, it alters my doctype!), vim too little. What do you use to make your HTML5 code look beautiful? Maybe there is a way to make tidy cooperate and not alter anything?

    Using pdftk to merge multiple pdf's is working well. However, any easy way to make a bookmark for each pdf merged? I don't see anything on the pdftk docs regarding this so I don't think it's possible with pdftk. All of our files merged will be 1 page, so wondering if there's any other utility that can add in bookmarks afterwards? Or another linux based pdf utility that will allow to merge while specifying a bookmark for each individual pdf.
