• How can I port forward over a VPN NAT?

  I have a multi-site VPN currently running with pfSense boxes and currently using OpenVPN. However I can change the OS and VPN type if need be. The main router has a 10.13.0.0/16 subnet and a series of public IPs For example, a branch has a 10.12.1.0/24 subnet How can I port forward NAT traffic on a public IP of the main router to a server behind the NAT of the second? So for instance port 95 on a public IP assigned to the main router forwards to 10.12.1.102 on the other router. Is this even possible? Currently my setup works great but only for intertnal traffic

• Visual C++ 2008 doesn't recognize Windows declared types

  I have a program that doesn't seem to recognize declared types in the latest U3D software. There's a line typedef BOOL (WINAPI* GMI)(HMON, LPMONITORINFOEX); which gets the error: Error 1 error C2061: syntax error : identifier 'LPMONITORINFOEX' c:\Projects\U3D\Source\RTL\Platform\Common\Win32\IFXOSRender.cpp 28 and a line MONITORINFOEX miMon; which gets Error 5 error C2065: 'miMon' : undeclared identifier c:\Projects\U3D\Source\RTL\Platform\Common\Win32\IFXOSRender.cpp 49 Error 3 error C2065: 'MONITORINFOEX' : undeclared identifier c:\Projects\U3D\Source\RTL\Platform\Common\Win32\IFXOSRender.cpp 49 The program's first non-comment statement is #include <windows.h>, which includes winuser.h, which defines these identifiers. In Visual Studio, I can right-click on them and go to the definition (a typedef) and from the typedef to the struct. WINAPI is defined in WinDef.h, so that seems to be working. There are no redefinitions of LPMONITORINFOEX or MONITORINFOEX in any other file. So, how can this be happening, and what can I do about it?

• Reccomendation for tuning 100's of SQL Databases

  I'm running several SQL servers, each running a few hundred multi-gig databases for customers. They are all setup homogeneously as far as the schemas are concerned, however customer usages of the data differ quite a lot from database to database. What would be the best way to auto-index/profile/tune this large amount of databases? As there are at least 600 or more catalogs I cant have someone manually profile, and index as required by each databases usage patterns. I'm currently running SQL 2005 but will be moving to 2008, so solutions that work with either are fine.

  I want to draw and manipulate logic flow (as opposed to analog) circuit diagrams and I'm trying not to reinvent the wheel. Problems like positioning, line drawing, line crossing and connecting, path finding, rubberband lines, and drag & drop are also identical in flow charts, UML diagrams, or class diagrams so I started by viewing related topics via Google and Stack Overflow. However, the following requirements seemed to keep me from finding anything that quite fit: assuming a chip has an image with input and output stubs, the connecting lines would connect to the chip only in the exact spots of the I/O stubs the color of connecting lines are able to be set as per a chip's output Is there an existing .NET 2d graphics library that would be suitable for drawing circuit diagrams?

  Hi, I know how to find the centroid (center of mass) of a regular polygon. This assumes that every part of the polygon weighs the same. But how do I calculate the centroid of a weightless polygon (made from aerogel perhaps :), where each vertex has a weight? Simplified illustration of what I mean using straight line: 5kg-----------------5kg ^center of gravity 10kg---------------5kg ^center of gravity offset du to weight of vertices Of course, I know how to calculate the center of gravity on a straight line with weighted vertices, but how do I do it on a polygon with weighted vertices? Same thing happens when I try a different approach for the socket creation. If I use: socket = new Socket(); socket.setSoTimeout(500); socket.connect(new InetSocketAddress(address, port), 1000); I have the same problem but with the SocketTimeoutException instead. I get a java.net.SocketTimeoutException: Read timed out if port was open but there was no banner to be read and java.net.SocketTimeoutException: connect timed out if server is not live or port is closed.   Im looking for some advice on a system Im looking to impliment within our company, but so far I have not found an adequate solution too. I need to provide my users with a way to backup there laptops whilst in the office and if possible offsite as well, we have a mixture of Windows & Mac laptops so software should ideally be multi platform. This is the first time i am attempting to-do something like this as we normally charge the users with responsibility for their backups. I have ruled out most of the services like dropbox, sugarsync (unless one exists that does this) as whilst they does exactly what I want it does not give me any control over restoring / recovering data in the event of the user being unavailable, as it requires their account password to access data.

  Alternatively: How do I take a non-square PNG and "fill out" the "rest" of the image with transparency so that the resulting square image has the original image centered in the square? ULTIMATELY, what I want is to take any image of any GM-supported format of any size, and create a scaled-down PNG (say, 40 pixels maximum for either dimension), with aspect ratio maintained, transparency-padded for non-square original images, AND with an already-prepared 40x40 PNG transparency mask applied. I already know how to scale down and keep aspect ratio; I already have the command for applying my composite. My only missing piece is square-alizing non-square images (padding with transparency). Single command preferred; multi-command chain acceptable. (edit) Extra info: Here's the composite command I'm using: gm composite -compose copyopacity mask.png source-and-target.png source-and-target.png where mask.png has white pixels for what I want to keep of source-and-target.png and transparent pixels for what I want to remove (and become transparent) of source-and-target.png.

  Previous used Ubuntu Gnome with Compiz but for my basic spec intel macbook (4 years old) its a little too heavyweight. So for now Im back on my macbook with os x, but now considering going back to Linux. Im looking for a window manager that has the following properties: 1) Supports virtual desktop (need 4 minimum) 2) Works well with multi monitors - can move an app with shortcut from one monitor to the other (on same virtual desktop) 3) Can remember window position (i.e. open vim on 2 monitor) - however must coerce everything back to first window when 2nd screen is unplugged 4) Keyboard shortcut friendly 5) Not too hard to install 6) Works well with minimum hardware such as integrated graphics Please suggest and share your experiences

• Extracting public key from private key in OpenSSL

  Hello, I need to extract the RSA public key from a RSA private key using OpenSSL. I'm currently using RSAPublicKey_dup() passing the RSA* private key to get the public key. However, while the call seems to work, I cannot load (or use) this public key using the openssl command-line tool. If I generate the public key using the command-line tool ("$ openssl rsa -in private.pem -pubout > public.pem"), I can use it and it works like a charm. Do you guys know how I can get this work ? Maybe another function ? The OpenSSL documentation is quite hard to browse... Thank you.

  Hi, I have been looking for information about using a second monitor but thought of using a touchscreen will a touchscreen monitor work in dual set up, but not set up as main monitor which is the question. Can't find any information on this only when others set it has main. only this piece If you mean do the touch screen features still work on the other machine, the answer is yes. Past that, you can even see some of the touch screen features on a non touch screen monitor (just not the multi touch features!) • Next/Last word with Netbeans in Mac OSX

  I've just switched to Mac OSX from Ubuntu. The development on Mac OSX using Netbeans is really a joy (of hell, though) I don't know how to go to next word, last word using keyboard. In windows or ubuntu, this should be Ctrl+Left/Right, but definely not in Mac. In Mac, such key combinations result in go to begin/end of line. Futhermore, the use of Home and End is for something else, not go to begin/end of line (What a cool hell). Is there another key combination? I prefer default key settings, please. I'm sick of going around with custom script.

If I'll remove a comment in file TestAppDelegate.m on line 58 //[currentView release]; Application will crash with bunch of errors when I try to switch views. But if I comment this line Project analyzer is telling me that I have a potential leak with currentView variable. Can somebody spare some time and see in that code what I did wrong?

• Newline not showing correctly in textbox

  I am loading a string from my database which among other things contains line breaks (\r\n). However, this isn't being rendered as a new line but instead as \r\n. If I type it directly in instead of loading it from a string, it works just fine but I need to be able to load it from a string. Any ideas? Edit: Upon closer inspection, it looks like the string is being returned as: Changed test7\\r\\nChanged test8\\r\\nChanged test9Changed test7 From the database. I tried running a .Replace(@"\\", @"\") on it but this had no effect at all. Any ideas?

  Since I upgraded to jQuery 1.4.4 I've been getting several new warning messages when I run my unit tests in Firefox 3.6.13. Source File: http://localhost/unitTests/ui/editors/iframe2.html?test=15 Line: 0 The web page renders nicely, and all my JavaScript code seems to be running okay too, so I'm reluctant to spend a potentially large amount of time chopping away at my code to track these messages down. However, can anyone suggest what's provoking the warnings?

  I am using a bash script (below) on a remote server (so far using ssh to connect) to execute a python script that downloads a lot of pdf files one at a time (getting the download locations from a text file with the URL's) in a loop. I would like to move the files from the remote server to my local computer as they are downloaded, and then delete the file from the remote server.   I have a board running uClinux, and I need to send a file to it, but I'm not sure how... I have a RS232 port, and Ethernet port with an IP address at my disposal, I can telnet to the board, but uCLinux doesn't have a built in FTP client. What sort of options do I have here for transferring files from my Windows 7 (or OpenSUSE) machine(s) to this board? EDIT I just found I have a TFTP server on it: # tftp BusyBox v0.60.5 (2012.07.09-14:05+0000) multi-call binary Usage: tftp [OPTION]... HOST [PORT] But I can't find any good information on how to use TFTP. And looking around google I'm seeing it's good for loading binary images, so I'm assume anything could be sent, but I'm not sure.

• Can I use the snipping tool to take a screenshot of the windows 8 start screen or modern apps?

  One of the tools I've found invaluable in answering questions on SU is the snipping tool. I may on occasion need to take screenshots of part of the start screen or 'modern' apps. I may not want to take a complete screenshot, and while I can use PrtSc and switch back into desktop to paste it, this is clunky if I need to document a multi-step process. Can I use the snipping tool on modern apps or the start screen? If not is there a configurable way to save a series of screenshots to a fixed folder, say when I press a combination of keys, so I can work, screenshot, then crop and annotate the folder of images?

• Sql server management studio reporting "The semaphore timeout period has expired."

  On our development sql server, executing any query containing more than approximately 700 characters stalls for about 10 seconds and then reports the following error: Msg 121, Level 20, State 0, Line 0 A transport-level error has occurred when receiving results from the server. (provider: TCP Provider, error: 0 - The semaphore timeout period has expired.) for example, this query select * from FooTable where id = ' (.. and then 700 spaces ..) ' fails fails with the timeout error while this one select * from FooTable where id = ' (.. and then 600 spaces ..) ' fails with the expected Msg 8169, Level 16, State 2, Line 1 Conversion failed when converting from a character string to uniqueidentifier. - immediately. Indeed, throwing any query, including random garbage at our dev sql server exhibits this behaviour, while any other sql server I have available acts as expected, so I would think that the query never actually gets to parsing on the server. I'm at a loss here - any hints?
