• How do I access SourceGear Web services using SOAP::Lite?

  For some reason SourceGear provide an undocumented Web service on their installations. They actually ask developers to use the API instead because the Web service is kinda messy, but this is a problem in my case because I cannot use this API on a Perl environment, so their solution for my specific case is to use the Web service. This shouldn't be a problem. Using SOAP::Lite I have connected to several Web services in the past in the same way. But the lack of documentation is a major chaos if you don't know where the SOAP calls can be made. I only have an XML to decipher where to and how to make these calls. It would be great if a real SOAP genius could help me out in this. • How to stop IE7 clearing floats because of width property

  I have a containing element with a number of floated elements in it. That containing element also has a percentage width value applied to it. In IE7, content following the element containing the floats is cleared because of the width value which gives it hasLayout (I think!). I don't want the containing element to haveLayout, but I do need it to have an explicit width. Is there a way of working around this problem in IE7, effectively forcing hasLayout=false.

  Hi, I have a mutex in my class with the following definition: ACE_Mutex m_specsMutex; When i use the acquire() method that takes no parameters everything works just fine. But when i use it with a time value (as follows) it just immediately returns with -1 value. I'm sure that this mutex hasn't been acquired anywhere else so it shouldn't return -1. m_specsMutex.acquire(ACE_OS::gettimeofday() + ACE_Time_Value(30)) Am i doing anything wrong?

• IDs necessary in update script not being stored (or even seen!?) (PHP MySQL)

  Hi guys, I really need help with this one...have spent 3 hours trying to figure it out... Basically, I have 3 tables necessary for this function to work (the query and PHP)... Authors, Books and Users. An author can have many books, and a user can have many books - that's it. When the admin user selects to update a book, they are presented with a form, displaying the current data within the fields, very straight forward... However there is one tricky part, the admin user can change the author for a book (incase they make a mistake) and also change the user for which the book is associated with. When I select to update the single book information I am not getting any values what so ever for author_id or user_id. Meaning that when the user updates the book info, the associations with the user and author is being scrapped altogether (when before there was an association)... I cannot see why this is happening because I can clearly see the IDs for the users and authors for my option values (this is because they are in select dropdowns). Here is what my sql to retrieve the user ID is: SELECT user_id, name FROM users and then i have my select options which brings up all the users in the system: <label>This book belongs to:</label> <select name="name" id="name"> <option value="<?php echo $row['user_id']?>" SELECTED><?php echo $row['name']?> - Current</option> <?php while($row = mysql_fetch_array($result)) { ?> <option value="<?php echo $row['user_id']; if (isset($_POST['user_id']));?>"><?php echo $row['name']?></option> <?php } ?> In the presented HTML form, I can select the users (by name) and within the source code I can see the IDs (for the value) matching against the names of the users. Finally, in my script that performs the update, I have this: $book_id = $_POST['book_id']; $bookname = $_POST['bookname']; $booklevel = $_POST['booklevel']; $author_id = $_POST['author_id']; $user_id = $_POST['user_id']; $sql = "UPDATE books SET bookname= '".$bookname."', booklevel= '".$booklevel."', author_id='".$author_id."', user_id= '".$user_id."' WHERE book_id = ".$book_id; The result of this query returns no value for either author_id or user_id... Obviously in this question I have given the information for the user stuff (with the HTML being displayed) but im guessing that I have the same problem with authors aswell... How can I get these ID's passed to the script so that the change can be acknowledge!! :(

• What are the benefits of using ORM over XML Serialization/Deserialization?

  I've been reading about NHibernate and Microsoft's Entity Framework to perform Object Relational Mapping against my data access layer. I'm interested in the benefits of having an established framework to perform ORM, but I'm curious as to the performance costs of using it against standard XML Serialization and Deserialization. Right now, I develop stored procedures in Oracle and SQL Server that use XML Types for either input or output parameters and return or shred XML depending on need. I use a custom database command object that uses generics to deserialize the XML results into a specified serializable class. By using a combination of generics, xml (de)serialization and Microsoft's DAAB, I've got a process that's fairly simple to develop against regardless of the data source. Moreover, since I exclusively use Stored Procedures to perform database operations, I'm mostly protected from changes in the data structure.   I have datagrid with list of MyPlayer objects linked to ItemsSource, there are ComboBoxes inside of grid that are linked to a list of inner object, and binding works correctly: when I select one of the item then its value is pushed to data model and appropriately updated in other places, where it is used. The only problem: initial selections are not displayed in my ComboBoxes. I don't know why..? Instance of the ViewModel is assigned to view DataContext. I have created this function to handle all my form submissions.   Hi, Senario: Masterpage with a UserControl and a child ASPX page In the past when using this senario I've used an Interface as a way to pass a value from the UserControl (embedded in a master page) to the masterpage code behind then consume that value in the child aspx page. My question is now that asp.net 4 have arrived is this still a good way to achieve this or is there another or perhaps better way to do it? I've read somewhere that perhaps "delegates" is perhaps another route to take. Any help much appreciated Lk

• Extjs Form Action Submit - Custom override?

  Looking at the source code of Action.Submit, I'm trying to figure out where ext is appending the form's fields to the parameters. Instead of sending each field as a separate parameter, I want to send something like: formObj:{field1:value, field2:value} Currently, each of those values are simply added to the parameter list along with any custom/baseParams. Where are these formfields being added so that I can change this behaviour? Thanks.

In my case all of 3 radio buttons is possible to check. How to restrict so that it is possible check only one radio. In this article I found good solutions but it can not be applied because I have a table.

• Azure storage - double decimal point ignored on save

  I have a value that is correctly stored in a property of an object, but when I save the changes to the Azure storage database, the double value is stored to the database ignoring the point (7.1000000003 is saved as 711). Also, the property is changed to 711.0. How do I solve this problem? The field is already set to double in the class and the database table.

  I am having an un-predictable behavior of creating radio buttons in advancedDataGrid column using itemRenderer. Similar kind of problem has been reported at http://stackoverflow.com/questions/112036/creating-a-column-of-radiobuttons-in-adobe-flex. I tried to use the same procedure i.e. bind every radio button selectedValue and value attributes with the property specified in the property of the associated bean but still facing the problem. The button change values! The selected button becomes deselected, and unselected ones become selected.
