  • Can I call sitemesh struts tags from a decorator in freemarker?

    I know if you are using JSPs, you can call struts tags defined the normal way from a decorator, like this: <html> <body> <decorator:body /> </body> </html> but in the examples I always see using freemarker decorators, they will instead say: <html> <body> ${body} </body> </html> Is this the only way to include the pieces of the page from the decorator, or is it possible to use the same taglibs? To test it, I put sitemesh-decorator.tld into WEB-INF/lib and tried just using <@decorator.body /> but no joy there. I think I'm missing something here, but I'm not sure what it is.

One way is by using Page.Title in .aspx file, but that requires in master page which can mess with HTML code. So, lets assume no server side controls, only pure html. Any better ideas?   • User Control not loading based on location

    I have an ASP.net MVC solution that uses nested master pages to load content. On the first Master page I load a header, then have the Content Placeholder, and then load a footer. This master page is referenced by another master page which adds some additional information based on the user being logged in or not. When I load a page that references these master pages, the header loads, but the footer does not. If I move the footer up above the Content Place Holder it loads into the page. Any ideas why this might be the case?   • RenderAction in an HtmlHelperExtension Method?

    I am trying to call the RenderAction Extension Method within my own Html Helper: System.Web.Mvc.Html.ChildActionExtensions.RenderAction(helper, "account", "login"); this is so that along with some additional logic, I would like all html helpers to use a common method name structure when calling it on the view: <%= Html.CompanyName().RenderAccount() %> but the problem I am having is that, asp.net will complain about not finding the actual route it needs to process. It does not take in the parameters of "controller" to be used as the action and "login" to be used as the action. It seems to only reference the current route. Any ideas how I can package up the RenderAction?

    Using Maverick, I am not able to get the CapsLock behaviour I want: I would like it to affect essentially the alphabetical, numerical, and punctuation keys, i.e. all the keys that print something (as opposed to, say, the error keys), but only them. To illuminate this with an example: when writing code that uses % as the symbol for a comment, I want to be able to position the cursor at the start of a range of lines I want to comment out, then hit CapsLock, then iteratively hit the 5 key (using QWERTZ, Shift+5 gives %) and the arrow down key, so that I can quickly place a % at the start of the lines. Ubuntu in default configuration takes CapsLock literally, so that it affects only alphabetic keys. Under Preferences/Keyboard/Layout/Options I can make it act as a pressed Shift, but then the action of the arrow keys is to select text. All the other options available are equivalent to one of these two in my case. Is it possible to somehow get this behaviour? This is standard in Windows.

    Hi This is the third time I am asking this question. I am only looking for the syntax of how to solve this problem. I am using prestashop as the cart for my website. I have a problem; the website used to be in dynamic urls. I enabled friendly url writing. The problem is that one page has more than one url. You can access a same page from the dynamic url and static url. In fact a single page has 9 different urls. This obviously creates problems for seo as search engines penalize my website for this.     I have a simple form that I would like to validate on form submission. In my controller I have: public ActionResult Submit(string FirstName, string LastName) { if (FirstName.Trim().Length == 0) ModelState.AddModelError("FirstName", "You must enter a first name"); if (LastName.Trim().Length == 0) ModelState.AddModelError("LastName", "You must enter a first name"); if (ModelState.IsValid) { //Update database + redirect to action } return View(); //If ModelState not valid, return to View and show error messages } Unfortunately, this code logic produces an error that states that no objects are found for JobRole and Courses. If I remove the dropdownlist and checkboxes then all works fine. The issue appears to be that when I return the View the view is expecting objects for the dropwdownlist and checkboxes (which is sensible as that is what is in my View code) How can I overcome this problem? Things I have considered: In my controller I could create a JobRoleList object and Course object to pass to the View so that it has the objects to render. The issue with this is that it will overwrite any dropdownlist / checkbox selections that the user has already made. In the parameters of my controller method Submit I could aslo capture the JobRoleList object and Course object to pass back to the View. Again, not sure this would capture any items the user has already selected. I have done much googling and reading but I cannot find a good answer. When I look at examples in books or online (e.g. Nerddinner) all the validation examples involve simple forms with TextBox inputs and don't seems to show instances with multiple checkboxes and dropdownlists. Have I missed something obvious here? What would be best practice in this situation? Thanks

Considering that resources are already defined in routes.rb I was expecting it to work easily, bute somehow when I click the save button it calls the create method, instead of update, using a POST http request. Inmediatly after that it autocatically log out form the session. Any ideas?

    I’m trying to make TraceTune (and eventually ClearTrace) work the way I do.  My typical query tuning session goes like this: Run a trace and upload to TraceTune/ClearTrace Tune the slowest queries Goto 1 I might do this two or three times in one day and then not come back to it again for weeks or even months.  This is especially true for those clients that I only visit a few times per month.  In many cases I’ll look at a query, decide I can’t do much with it and move on.  I needed a way to capture that information. TraceTune now lets you enter a comment for a query.  It can be as simple or as complex as you like.  The comment will be shown inline with the execution history of that query. This should let you walk back through your history with a query and decide whether you should spend more time tuning it.

    I'm using this code as the starting point to an overhaul of our JavaScript framework: $("#get").click(function(){ $("#result").html(ajax_load); $.get( "http://www.google.com", {}, function(responseText){ $("#result").html(responseText); }, "html" ); }); But when the request is made it includes a variable within the URL that I am unfarmiliar with, here is what Firebug says it's requesting: http://www.google.com/?_=1268993359215 How do I get rid of this, when we target our internal scripts it's firing a 404 error :-( Cheers!
