  • Application starts as Terminal but not as a Desktop entry

    I just installed SQL Anywhere 12 and can start Sybase Central from the terminal with the command line below without errors: /opt/sqlanywhere12/bin32/scjview However, when I try to start it from a desktop entry I am receiving two error messages that could be something incorrectly defined in the desktop below: #!/usr/bin/env xdg-open [Desktop Entry] Version=1.0 Type=Application Terminal=false Icon[en_US]=gnome-panel-launcher Name[en_US]=Sybase Central Exec=/opt/sqlanywhere12/bin32/scjview Comment[en_US]= Name=Sybase Central Comment= Icon=gnome-panel-launcher Here are the error messages: (unable to post the error images) cannot find libsyblib610_r.so cannot find libulscutil12.so Since the application can be successfully started from a terminal window I was wondering how I could have it setup as a desktop entry as well.

Inside the HTML that calls this JavaScript code I find myself in need of knowing if a certain function from helpers.js has been called. I have attempted to create a global variable by defining: var myFunctionTag = true; In global scope both in my HTML code and in helpers.js.   • Why can't I get the value of this text input?

    It seems simple enough, but nothing I try is working. I have a jquery ui datepicker, I use val() to get the value of that input on button click(), then log it. The click event is working. I can log a string I write myself, but when I pass console.log() the variable that stores the datepicker value...nothing.   • Simulating a contains If-Else using RewriteCond

    Hi! I'm trying to get my head around RewriteCond, and want to rewrite any requests either to a static html page (if it exists), or to a specific index.php (so long as the requested file doesn't exist). To illustrate the logic: if HTTP_HOST is '(www\.)?mydomain.com' if file exists: "/default/static/{REQUEST_URI}.html", then rewrite .* to /default/static/{REQUEST_URI}.html else if file exists: {REQUEST_FILENAME}, then do not rewrite else rewrite .* to /default/index.php I don't seem to have much trouble doing it when I don't need to test for the HTTP_HOST. Ultimately, this one .htaccess file will be handling requests for several domains. I know I could get around this with vhosts, but I'd like to figure out how to do it this way. Here's where I am at now: RewriteCond %{HTTP_HOST} ^(www\.)?mydomain\.com$ [NC] RewriteCond /default/static/%{REQUEST_URI}.html -f RewriteRule . /default/static/%{REQUEST_URI}.html [L,NC] RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-f RewriteRule . /default/index.php [L,QSA] I'm not too familiar with some of the other flags, will any of them be of use here (like chain|C, next|N or skip|S)? The absolute ones which are already in that string should not be touched, they are fine to me as they are already absolute. Can this be done by regex or other means?

However, if I open it in an IE7 modal dialog, it draws the vertical scrollbar on top of the margin. What's even worse, because it draws the scrollbar on top of the margin, it also causes a horizontal scrollbar to be drawn. How do I work around this? I absolutely must use the IE modal dialog, I'm not at liberty to change that.

  • Domain migration - 301 Redirect of all contentes of directory)

    Hi, I would like to know if it is possible to do the following considering that I would like to migrate domains. I have lets say: one.com/files/one.html one.com/files/two.php one.com/other/three.html one.com/other/four.doc one.com/other/subdirectory/five.doc I am migrating to two.com So I would like to make RESPECTIVE 301 redirects to the following: two.com/old/files/one.html two.com/old/files/two.php two.com/old/other/three.html two.com/old/other/four.doc two.com/old/other/subdirectory/five.doc I've tried with cPanel and although I come "close" with the redirects option I can't seem to make it happen. The folders are not much (10 -12) the file are a lot, and obviously impossible to make it manually. How would you proceed? Can this/ should this be done with regex from the .htaccess?? Can you direct all the elements of a subdirectory in the manner expressed above? I hope the question is clear enough, if not please ask for any clarification needed!! Thanks in advance!!

    Hey, I am creating a website in Ruby on Rails. I have a controller action that renders a view like so: def show time_left = Time.now.to_i - 3.hours.to_i @character = current_user.characters.find(params[:id]) respond_to do |format| format.html # show.html.erb format.xml { render :xml => @character } end end This is fine as it renders the show.html.erb as I like. I would like however to somehow pass time_left to the view as a Javascript variable as this value is use by a countdown JQuery plugin. I could put a javascript block on the page in the HTML and print a instance variable out like so: <script type="javascript"> $('#countdown').countdown('<%= @time_left =>')</script> But I would like to keep all my JS in a external file and off the page could anyone give some advice on how to implement this?     I want to ignore the post form in the django's internatonalization. I am using the django-multilingual app, so I have different fields for different languages in the db. I come up with this idea: For each language, from the index.html page, redirect to a different url (e.g. /en/ or /de/ or /zh/). And each view of this urls, set the session according to the language like this: def set_lang_en(request): request.session['django_language'] = 'en' render_to_response("home.html") def set_lang_zh(request): request.session['django_language'] = 'zh-cn' render_to_response("home.html") Interestingly, this does the job, but if i refresh the page again after redirection (home.html). Why it is like this? And how can solve this problem either in my direction or other one?

If there are more than one link, just the first one is saved, and if there are links inside the ul tag, they are not included because they are descendants and no childrens. Something like this (I am cloning and outputting html): $(this).clone().remove('not(a:first)').html(); //Assuming remove looks for "a" as a first child Does not work, so I try with this: $(this).clone().children().remove('not(a:first)').parent().html(); Does not work so I try with this: $(this).clone().remove('not(>a:first)').html(); I need the original element as a reference after removal for chaining more operations EDIT: Ok! Second one works with a little syntax correction as some appointed (:not( instead of not() but I would like to know if there is any other solution similar to the third line so I don't have to do children().remove().parent().     I'm using Joomla in combination with Nginx, and I'm currently trying to achieve some URL rewriting for a website that has several langages supported (italian, french, chinese, and deutch) The urls have the country code after the domain name, like so : http://www.example.com/fr/test/test.html or http://www.example.com/de/test/test.html I'm looking to rewrite the urls so the country code is part of the subdomain : so http://www.example.com/fr/test/test.html becomes http://fr.example.com/test/test.html Is there a way to achieve this with Nginx or should I look into a third party extension for Joomla (not my favorite choice).     Hey, I deleted the Index.html in my /public/ folder. I added a "application" folder in my views. In it I put a new index.html.erb. This I want to be my startpage/homepage. In my new "index.html.erb" I set: link_to 'sign in', {:controller => 'devise/sessions', :action => 'new'} But it redirects me to the "application#index". I set root :to => "application#index How can I set this to route it to "posts#index" after I sign in, for example? Is there a chance to use .erb oder .haml in my /public/index.html? Many thanks!!

    I am wondering what the idiomatic way to render special language characters is using Handlebars.js templates. When I render the normal html I can use something like the Spanish lowercase e, &#233, and it renders as expected. When I pass the same text as a string to my Handlebars template I just see the characters &#233. I have tried creating a Handlebars helper that used jquery to render the text using .html() then returning the .html() of the tmp element and I get the same results.

    I'm trying out asp.net mvc for a new project, and I ran across something odd. When I use the MVC UI helpers for textboxes, the values get persisted between calls. But, when I use a series of radio buttons, the checked state doesn't get persisted. Here's an example from my view. <li> <%=Html.RadioButton("providerType","1")%><label>Hospital</label> <%=Html.RadioButton("providerType","2")%><label>Facility</label> <%=Html.RadioButton("providerType","3")%><label>Physician</label> </li> When the form gets posted back, I build up an object with "ProviderType" as one of it's properties. The value on the object is getting set, and then I RedirectToAction with the provider as a argument. All is well, and I end up at a URL like "http://localhost/Provider/List?ProviderType=1" with ProviderType showing. The value gets persisted to the URL, but the UI helper isn't picking up the checked state. I'm having this problem with listbox, dropdownlist, and radiobutton. Textboxes pick up the values just fine. Do you see something I'm doing wrong? I'm assuming that the helpers will do this for me, but maybe I'll just have to take care of this on my own. I'm just feeling my way through this, so your input is appreciated. Edit: I just found the override for the SelectList constructor that takes a selected value. That took care of my dropdown issue I mentioned above. Edit #2: I found something that works, but it pains me to do it this way.
