  • Highlighting a Table Correctly Despite rowspan and colspan attributes - WITHOUT jQuery

    Thanks to some !#$#@ in another department who wrote some crap code, I am unable to use the jQuery library - despite my fervent desire to do so. Their software has already been released into the world, and I have to be compatible. ============================================ I am trying to highlight a table. Desired behavior: Clicking on a cell in the body highlights the row. Clicking on a cell in the head highlights the column. If a column and row are both highlighted, the intersection is highlighted a different color (super-highlight). Clicking on a previously super-highlighted cell turns off the highlights. This behavior is simple enough to do with a basic table, but when rowspans and colspans start rearing their ugly heads, things start to get a little wonky... highlighting cell[5], for instance, no longer works reliably. My thought, in order to speed execution time of the highlighting itself (by changing a class name), is to pre-calculate the 'offsets' of all cells - with a 'colStart' and 'colEnd', 'rowStart' and 'rowEnd' when the page loads and store that in an array somehow. The question: How would YOU implement this functionality? I am fairly rusty at my JavaScript, awfully rudimentary in my programming skills and would benefit greatly from some guidance.   • JSF 2.0: Validate equality of 2 InputSecret Fields (confirm password) without writing Code?

    I'm developing a pure JavaEE6 application with JSF 2.0 and Glassfish. My JSF implementation is Primefaces (beside Mojarra provided by Glassfish). I want to verify if the values of 2 password fields in a JSF form are equal. With Seam, there is the neat component <s:validateEquality for="pw1"/>. I want do to the same without Seam, just using JSF (or maybe a component of a JSF library). Until now i only saw examples which validate the form with a custom validator. But i would like to compare the fields without writing Java code or Javascript code. Is that possible?   • NHibernate Legacy Database Mappings Impossible?

    I'm hoping someone can help me with mapping a legacy database. The problem I'm describing here has plagued others, yet I was unable to find a real good solution around the web. DISCLAIMER: this is a legacy DB. I have no control over the composite keys. They suck and can't be changed no matter much you tell me they suck. I have 2 tables, both with composite keys. One of the keys from one table is used as part of the key to get a collection from the other table. In short, the keys don't fully match between the table. ClassB is used everywhere I would like to avoid adding properties for the sake of this mapping if possible. public class ClassA { //[PK] public string SsoUid; //[PK] public string PolicyNumber; public IList<ClassB> Others; //more properties.... } public class ClassB { //[PK] public string PolicyNumber; //[PK] public string PolicyDateTime; //more properties } I want to get an instance of ClassA and get all ClassB rows that match PolicyNumber. I am trying to get something going with a one-to-many, but I realize that this may technically be a many-to-many that I am just treating as one-to-many. I've tried using an association class but didn't get far enough to see if it works. I'm new to these more complex mappings and am looking for advice. I'm open to pretty much any ideas. Thanks, Corey

  • FileSystem.GetFiles() + UnauthorizedAccessException error?

    Hello, It seems like FileSystem.GetFiles() is unable to recover from the UnauthorizedAccessException exception that .Net triggers when trying to access an off-limit directory. In this case, does it mean this class/method isn't useful when scanning a whole drive and I should use some other solution (in which case: Which one?)?   • Unable to import Eclipse project to Android studio

    Whenever I try to import my Eclipse project to Android Studio I get the following error : You are using an old, unsupported version of Gradle. Please use version 1.8 or greater. Please point to a supported Gradle version in the project's Gradle settings or in the project's Gradle wrapper (if applicable.) Consult IDE log for more details (Help | Show Log) Im using Android Studio 0.3 and Ubuntu, I also tried it on a Windows 8 box with fresh install but getting the same error. I'm using default gradle wrapper and I tried checking and unchecking auto import option. Is this a bug? How can I get around it. How do I update gradle to 1.8 or check the current gradle version?   • Mark duplicates in MySql with php (without deleting)

    So, I'm having some problems with a MySQL query (see other question), and decided to try a different approach. I have a database table with some duplicate rows, which I actually might need for future reference, so I don't want to remove. What I'm looking for is a way to display the data without those duplicates, but without removing them. I can't use a simple select query (as described in the other question). So what I need to do is write a code that does the following: 1. Go through my db Table. 2. Spot duplicates in the "ip" column. 3. Mark the first instance of each duplicate with "0" (in a column named "duplicate") and the rest with "1". This way I can later SELECT only the rows WHERE duplicate=0. NOTE: If your solution is related to the SELECT query, please read this other question first - there's a reason I'm not just using GROUP BY / DISTINCT. Thanks in advance.

  • ASP.Net application timeout

    Hi, I have an application I have just deployed which, for complicated reasons, stores all the data from the database in a module the first time any data from the specific table is required (i.e. when a customer requests to view a product for the first time, all the product data is stored in the ProductManager class (of which an instance is stored in a shared property of the SiteContent class, making the ProductManager easily accessible from any page). Now forget that you are probably now glaring at me for using this approach.. I am sure it has its inefficiencies but I have only been studying .Net for a year or so now so I am still learning. One thing I have noticed is that I can go on the site once, then revisit it 5 minutes later and it will load all the data into the ProductManager class again. It seems this is a .Net application timeout thing - since the session timeout is set to 30 minutes and, when I am logged in on the administration frontend, it logs me out after 5 minutes (ish). Does anyone have any idea how to change this? Is there any way I can change this in the code without having to contact the hosting company? If not in the code is there any way to change this in the web.config? Thanks in advance. Regards, Richard

GetTalkback() returns an Entity framework object of type Talkback which is generated from the Talkback table. The DropDownListFor code is: <%: Html.DropDownListFor(model=>model.method_id,new SelectList(ViewData["MethodList"] as IEnumerable<SelectListItem>,"Value","Text",Model.method_id)) %> The record I am viewing has values in all fields. When I click submit on the View, I get an Object reference not set to an instance of an object. error on the above line. There are a number of standard fields in the form prior to this, so the error is only occurring on dropdown lists, and it is occurring on all of them. Any ideas? This is my first foray in to MVC, C#, and Entity so I am completely lost!

  • 'Must Override a Superclass Method' Errors after importing a project into Eclipse

    Anytime I have to re-import my projects into Eclipse (if I reinstalled Eclipse, or changed the location of the projects), almost all of my overridden methods are not formatted correctly, causing the error 'The method ?????????? must override a superclass method'. It may be noteworthy to mention this is with Android projects - for whatever reason, the method argument values are not always populated, so I have to manually populate them myself. For instance: list.setOnCreateContextMenuListener(new OnCreateContextMenuListener() { public void onCreateContextMenu(ContextMenu menu, View v, ContextMenuInfo menuInfo) { //These arguments have their correct names } }); will be initially populated like this: list.setOnCreateContextMenuListener(new OnCreateContextMenuListener() { public void onCreateContextMenu(ContextMenu arg1, View arg2, ContextMenuInfo arg3) { //This methods arguments were not automatically provided } }); The odd thing is, if I remove my code, and have Eclipse automatically recreate the method, it uses the same argument names I already had, so I don't really know where the problem is, other then it auto-formatting the method for me. This becomes quite a pain having to manually recreate ALL my overridden methods by hand. If anyone can explain why this happens or how to fix it .. I would be very happy. Maybe it is due to the way I am formatting the methods, which are inside an argument of another method?

  • Using Git with shared (symbolic link) directories

    I'm working on a big Qt application with multiple widgets which are quite complex. One of this widget is a webcam stream viewer. The application is organized so that each program module (i.e. widgets) is stored in its own directory with a .pri file. All these are stored in one main directory grouping all the widget directories. Next to this main project directory I also have application directories. Let say one for each widget. In these directory I have a symbolic link (alias on windows) to the module directory in the main project folder. This application has then the necessary code to build a standalone application showing only the widget. So for instance I have a webcam viewer application, another to control some devices, etc. This source code organization works well and allows me to develop and test the widgets in independent applications while sharing the code with the main application. Currently only the main project directory is under version control using subversion. Now I would like to start using git and would like to know if this shared directory model would work with it or if there is a better way to do it.

  • Deploy multiple instances of an EAR (representing versions) to Glassfish

    I basically want to be able to deploy multiple versions of the same EAR file to the same server (Glassfish instance?) , and have a unique path to each version separating them. From my reading on this it appears that multiple EARs deploy to the root of the web server namespace so that they can coexist if they do not have colliding context-root's of WAR's. In my case I'd rather have that instead of everything going under "/", I'd like to be able to brand a given EAR-file build to ALWAYS deploy under a given path like "/foo-20100319" or "/foo-CUSTOMER-20010101". This can easily be done with a single WAR file just by renaming it. I do not need or want them to disturb each other. It is my understanding that this remapping is outside the scope of the application.xml file, so I found that http://docs.sun.com/app/docs/doc/820-7693/beayr?a=view says that I can specify web-uri and context-root, but I am not certain that what I wish to do, can be specified with these in Glassfish. How should I approach this? I have full control over the build process. (I have found http://stackoverflow.com/questions/877390/deploying-multiple-java-web-apps-to-glassfish-in-one-go but I am not certain how to apply this to what I need).

    Hi all, I want to write some integration tests to see how my spring-managed DAO's behave when talking to the appengine datastore. Following the spring manual I will be providing my test-classes with the proper annotations: @RunWith(SpringJUnit4ClassRunner.class) @ContextConfiguration(locations = { "classpath:applicationContext.xml" }) After a lot of browsing I found this blog post dating back to august '09 from somebody doing exactly what I want to achieve. It involves writing a TestEnvironment class that implements ApiProxy.Environment plus talking to ApiProxyLocalImpl. However, if I look at the current docs (for version 1.3.1), it seems that this has been replaced by newing an instance of the framework provided LocalDatastoreServiceTestConfig which is passed to a LocalServiceTestHelper. It is too bad that the appengine docs don't show an example how to do this with JPA because then the spring wiring would be trivial. Trying to follow the route outlined in the blog posting has me running into a compiler messages telling me that classes such as ApiProxyLocalImpl are not visible by me. Hence, there must be a new way of doing it, which probably involves the LocalServiceTestHelper. My question: Does anybody know how? I know I will need to configure an EntityManagerFactory and provide it with the Datastore connection somehow... but how? :)

    Hi, I've been reading a ton about xml and learning a lot but I am stuck on one error. I have a schema defined in multiple files and I can't get it to work.   • How to use 3rd party libraries in glassfish?

    I need to connect to a MongoDB instance from my EJB3 application, running on glassfish 3.0.1. The Mongo project provides a set of drivers, and I'm able to use them in a standalone Java application. How would I use them in a JEE application? Or maybe better phrasing: how would I make a 3rd party library available to my application when it runs in an EJB container? Do I need to 'register' the library with the container? Reference it via Annotation? Extend the classpath of the container to include the library?

  • Remote JMS connection still using localhost

    I have a created a JMS Connection Factory on a remote glassfish server and want to use that server from a java client app on my local machine. I have the following configuration to get the context and connection factory: Properties env = new Properties(); env.setProperty("java.naming.factory.initial", "com.sun.enterprise.naming.SerialInitContextFactory"); env.setProperty("java.naming.factory.url.pkgs", "com.sun.enterprise.naming"); env.setProperty("java.naming.factory.state", "com.sun.corba.ee.impl.presentation.rmi.JNDIStateFactoryImpl"); env.setProperty("org.omg.CORBA.ORBInitialHost", JMS_SERVER_NAME); env.setProperty("org.omg.CORBA.ORBInitialPort", "3700"); initialContext = new InitialContext(env); TopicConnectionFactory topicConnectionFactory = (TopicConnectionFactory) initialContext.lookup("jms/MyConnectionFactory"); topicConnection = topicConnectionFactory.createTopicConnection(); topicConnection.start(); This seems to work and when I delete the ConnectionFactory from the glassfish server I get a exception indicating that is can't find jms/MyConnectionFactory as expected. However when I subsequently use my topicConnection to get a topic it tries to connect to localhost:7676 (this fails as I am not running glassfish locally). If I dynamically create a topic: TopicSession pubSession = topicConnection.createTopicSession(false, Session.AUTO_ACKNOWLEDGE); Topic topic = pubSession.createTopic(topicName); TopicPublisher publisher = pubSession.createPublisher(topic); Message mapMessage = pubSession.createTextMessage(message); publisher.publish(mapMessage); and the glassfish server is not running locally I get the same connection refused however, if I start my local glassfish server the topics are created locally and I can see them in the glassfish admin console. In case you ask I do not have jms/MyConnectionFactory on my local glassfish instance, it is only available on the remote server. I can't see what I am doing wrong here and why it is trying to use localhost at all. Any ideas? Cheers, James

  • ntpd on Fedora Core 6 with high negative time rest values

    The basic problem is we have a FC6 server instance running on a virtual machine, and the system time seems to have been slowly varying until it is now causing a problem. The server runs 24/7 and has been up for 155 days. It has been changed to show GMT, and reports the time as (example) 00:15:15 GMT whereas the actual time is 00:00:00 GMT. This is an offset of 915 seconds. selinux has been changed to 'setenforce 0' for testing and I am running as root. I stop the ntpd service and change the time in System|Administration|Date & Time. The time still shows the same with 'date' in bash. There are no error logs. I change the date with 'date --set' in bash. The response confirms the changed date. I run 'date' and the incorrect date is shown. There are no error logs. I start the ntpd service and /var/log/messages shows success with 'time reset -915.720139s'. The date remains unchanged. ntpq -p shows three three time servers all have offsets of around -915 seconds. I stop ntpd service and try 'ntpd -gqx' and get the same result as above - success, but a large negative time reset. I've tried varying combinations of the above, and a few more settings in System|Administration|Date & Time - no change. I just need to reset the system time to GMT. No offset. But I can't wait for ntpd to slew the time over the next few weeks. Any advice is welcome, cheers! Sure this shouldn't be this difficult... Mark...

  • cache_money only writing to memcached on creates and updates, and seemingly never looking in the cac

    I seem to be having some extremely odd cache_money interactions. When I am on the console, and I create a new instance of a class and save it I see the cache misses and cache stores on my memcached console output. Then when the create finishes I see a bunch of cache deletions. If I then try to do any kind of find for the newly created object (or any other objects for that matter) I never see any cache access. This is highly confusing. I could kind of understand if all finds never hit the cache (though that in and of itself would be an issue requiring investigation), but finds do seem to hit the cache when the object is being created (checking for associations and such). Anyone have this experience in the past at all? Any thoughts? AFAIK there isn't really much in the way of configuration options for cache_money, and it certainly doesn't seem like there are any that would be on by default and be creating these kinds of symptoms. My cache_money config is basically straight out of the docs. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    We are currently working with Delphi 2006, but we are now very ready to move on to Delphi 2010. The problem lies in our Rave reports, though... We just get to many string errors when running our reports with Rave 8. And they just don't make any sense. (The reports compile with no error, and we can even run them without any error in Rave 6.)   • Error when instantiating .NET/COM interop class via classic ASP

    Hi all, I am having a problem when trying to instantiate a C# .NET class that's been exposed to COM in a classic ASP application. I've used tlbexp to generate a typelib and registered it in Component Services; now when trying to create the object as such: Server.CreateObject("The.Class.Name") I am getting the error: Server object error 'ASP 0177 : 80131534' Server.CreateObject Failed I've searched around online for information on this error, and found numerous discussions but no solution. The error code 0x80131534 apparently means "COR_E_TYPEINITIALIZATION, a type failed to initialize", which would suggest the problem would be in the constructor. The constructor of the class in question sets a private field to an instance of another class from the same assembly, and then reads some configuration settings from an XML file. This behaviour is unit tested and I've checked that the file exists; I can't see anything else that could be breaking in there. A few other points which may or may not be of use: A test .NET project referencing the DLL can instantiate the class just fine; however a test VB6 project referencing the TLB blows up with the same error. Both the DLL and the TLB are in the same location. This application is running locally, on Windows XP Professional SP3 and IIS 5.1. The .NET assembly is built with .NET Framework 2.0, although 3.5 is installed on the machine. I know other people who don't get this error on their builds, so I believe it may be something environmental. Any suggestions are welcome as I've been struggling to fix this for some time.
