  i have a menu, it contains multiple items, each menu item will retrieve data from the database. i want to do it without the page refresh, i want like an area that will change when the user clicks on the menu link. • How do I declare a constructor for an 'object' class type in Scala? I.e., a one time operation for the singleton.

  I know that objects are treated pretty much like singletons in scala. However, I have been unable to find an elegant way to specify default behavior on initial instantiation. I can accomplish this by just putting code into the body of the object declaration but this seems overly hacky. Using an apply doesn't really work because it can be called multiple times and doesn't really make sense for this use case. Any ideas on how to do this?

  I dont see any direct mention on using multiple slugs (or any behavior for that matter) for single model. Is there a way to use the sluggable behavior to generate two separate slugs for a model? For example i need to generate two slugs for every record a product_id consisting of a slugified company name and sku and a distributor_id consisting of a different slugified company name. Obviously i could write this myself fairly easily, im just wondering if this can be done quickly with Sluggable.

  Simplified table structure (the tables can't be merged at this time): TableA: dts_received (datetime) dts_completed (datetime) task_a (varchar) TableB: dts_started (datetime) task_b (varchar) What I would like to do is determine how long a task took to complete. The join parameter would be something like ON task_a = task_b AND dts_completed < dts_started The issue is that there may be multiple date-times that occur after the dts_completed. How do I create a join that only returns the first tableB-datetime that occurs after the tableA-datetime?

  I understand why data need to be aligned (and all the efforts made to accomplish it like padding) so we can reduce the number of memory accesses but this assumes that processor just can fetch addresses multiples of 4(supposing we are using a 32-bit architecture). And because of that assumption we need to align memory and my question is why we can just access addresses multiple of 4(efficiency, hardware restriction, another one)? Which is the advantages of doing this? Why cannot we access all the addresses available? hugs

  I have a cookie that is formatted like partA:partB. The colon is not escaped in any fashion. I need to read this cookie in a JSP script, and request.getCookies() is only returning partA.
