  I want to develop a WebPart in C# to display peoples who have a certain right on the list of the SharePoint page. So I began by creating a "Visual Web Part" in VS2010, and in the View Designer I add a DataList because I think it is the most relevant. But now, I don't know how to link my data with this DataList.   I am trying to bind data from database to datagrid in silverlight. When I get typed data from DB, it is no problem since I use List<'EntityObject' collection object for example. However, sometimes I need data which I won't be able to know how many and what columns will be generated in design time. In this case, I cannot use typed collection like List<'EntityObject'. In addition, it is not able to use DataSet in silverlight. So, in this case and situation, how to solve this kind of problem? Thanks in advance Kwon

The filtering part (in the performFiltering method()) seems to go ok, it fills the FilterResults object just as expected. But then I think I'm not doing it right on how to publish the results, atm I have : protected void publishResults(CharSequence prefix, FilterResults results) { // NOTE: this function is *always* called from the UI thread. subItems = (Vector)results.values; notifyDataSetChanged(); } But this simply won't "populate" my List with the received data. So now my question is how do I populate my List with the received results ? Do I have to do that programmatically ?

  hy, i have a little, big problem here :) after i upload some images i get a list with all the images. I have some jQuery function for rotate, duplicate, delete, shuffle images! when i select a image and hit delete i send a post to php with the alt="" value of the image,i identify the picture and edit. • designing database tables using JDBC

  I am creating a users table using JDBC and mysql, each user has a permissions list that comprises Integer values, I am wondering if I should use an array for storing these values and then have only 1 record for this user in the table, or simply create a new table that comprises 2 columns: user ID and permissions, and then have multiple records for each user that specify the user name in one columns and one permission value in the second column, the second option seems to be redundant since a permission value is a simple object that isn't associated with any other objects (like a student and courses list for example, because the course is associated with many other objects, like grade, teacher, etc, so in this case it is natural to have multiple records), but the first one seems to be a bit unnatural to me, so if someone has experience with these things and direct me? thanks

  Hi, all my projects and their versions are defined in a properties file like this: ProjectNameA=0.0.1 ProjectNameB=1.4.2 I'd like to iterate over all projects and use there names and versions in an ant script. Right now, I read the entire properties file in help of the property task. Then I iterate over a given list in a for loop like this: <for list="ProjectNameA,ProjectNameB" param="project"> <sequential> <echo message="@{project} has version ${@{project}}" /> </sequential> </for> How can I avoid the duplication of the project names in the for loop. So basically iterate over each line and extract the name and the version of a project. Thanks.

Other stuff ...... } I then have a dictionary that is defined like this: public Dictionary<BasePadWI, Canvas> Pad { get; set; } I would then like to make a call like this: List<WorkItem> workItems = Pad.Keys.ToList(); (Note: WorkItem is a sealed class, so I cannot inherit.) • jQuery doesn't work after an Ajax post

• Is there a way to highlight specific words or numbers without inserting a span tag?

  I've got blocks of text with various specs in them and want to have jquery highlight whatever matches a specific pattern without inserting any extra html. The following is the kind of text that I've got to work with. Maybe working off a list of values matching the spec format using some wildcards where neededed? The css to select the correct tag is #list div div div+p or I could just give the p class but would rather not. Is this kind of thing possible?

• DispatcherOperations.Wait()

  What happens if you call dispatcherOperation.Wait() on an operation that has already completed? Also, the docs say that it returns a DispatcherOperationStatus, but wouldn't that always be Completed since it (supposedly) doesn't return until it's done? • InfoPath Getting SharePoint Group Information

  I have an InfoPath form embedded in an aspx page on a SharePoint site. How do I bind the SharePoint user groups to a drop-down list on my form? What I've tried so far is to create a data connection to a web service (method GetGroupCollectionFromWeb) to pull the data. Next, I open the list box properties, select "Look up values from an external data source", select the data source, assign the entries, and I get the following error: "You must select a repeating group or field." What I don't understand is that since the method I am calling is called GetGroupCollectionFromWeb, isn't the return value a collection? And aren't collections repeating by definition? What am I missing, and is there a workaround? Thank you.

• Help with Magento and related products

  I have a customer product page that literally lives beside the catalog/product/view.phtml page. It's basically identical to that page with a few small exceptions. It's basically a 'product of the day' type page so I can't combine it with the regular product page since I have to fetch the data from the DB and perform a load to get the product information $_product = Mage::getModel('catalog/product')->load($row['productid']); To make a long story short, everything works (including all children html blocks) with the singular exception of the related products. After the load I save the product into the registry with Mage::register('product', $_product); and then attempt to load the related products with: echo $this->getLayout()->createBlock('catalog/product_view')->setTemplate('catalog/product/list/related.phtml')->toHtml();` All of which give back the error: Fatal error: Call to a member function getSize() on a non-object in catalog/product/list/related.phtml on line 29`, and line 29 is <?php if($this->getItems()->getSize()): ?>`. Any help getting the relateds to load would be appreicated.

• How can I sort an array, yet exclude certain elements (to be kept at the same position in the array)

  This will be implemented in Javascript (jQuery) but I suppose the method could be used in any language. I have an array of items and I need to perform a sort. However there are some items in the array that have to be kept in the same position (same index). The array in question is build from a list of <li> elements and I'm using .data() values attached to the list item as the value on which to sort. • Simplest way to create a wrapper class around some strings for a WPF DataGrid?

  I'm building a simple hex editor in C#, and I've decided to use each cell in a DataGrid to display a byte*. I know that DataGrid will take a list and display each object in the list as a row, and each of that object's properties as columns. I want to display rows of 16 bytes each, which will require a wrapper with 16 string properties. While doable, it's not the most elegant solution. Is there an easier way? I've already tried creating a wrapper around a public string array of size 16, but that doesn't seem to work. Thanks *The rational for this is that I can have spaces between each byte without having to strip them all out when I want to save my edited file. Also it seems like it'll be easier to label the rows and columns.

It never occurs on ActiveCell.Validation.Delete which I find weird? I have been all over google trying to find a solution, and most suggest that it is caused by running dynamic validation code from a button which hogs focus despite the Activate call, but I am running on sheet change event rather than on button press so I don't think this is my issue - any ideas? I've wasted basically a whole day on this! :(

  "Refer to objects by their interfaces" is a good practise, as mentioned in Effective Java. So for example i prefer List<String> al = new ArrayList<String>(); over ArrayList<String> al = new ArrayList<String>(); in my code. One annoying thing is that if i type ArrayList<String> al = new and then hit Ctrl+Space in Eclipse i get ArrayList<String>() as propostal. But if i type List al = new and then hit Ctrl+Space i will get only propostal to define anonymous inner class, but not propostals such as new ArrayList<String>(), what is 99% the case, or for example new Vector<String>(). Is there any way to get the subclasses as propostals for generic types?
