  Hi, I'm just curious about design and development of official FIFA website. What is the programming language being used to build the site? What is the development methodology they are using? • Resume recursive scp transfer (with rsync?)

  I was transferring several thousand files each ~1MB via scp and my connection was broken after the first 2k files or so. I wanted to know if there was a way to resume the recursive transfer w/o starting over. Something like $ scp -r [email protected]:/datafiles/ ./ ... Happy Transfer ... ... BREAK! ... $ rsync -P [email protected]:/datafiles/ ./ ... Continue transf... The problem is I can't seem to get the syntax correct if it is possible. Can anyone shed some light on if/how it can be done? PS. If you specify the slash after "datafiles" in the rsync line, does that transfer the directory or its contents? I saw conflicting comments when I googled.

  I am testing a java web service(jax-ws),but whenever i am running the test i am getting response code as response message:Read timed out . But i am clue less because same web service i can access form an application.

• JDBC Realm: GlassFish v2.1 = OK; GlassFish v3 = fail with invaliduserreason

  In my J2EE 5 application I have a JDBC Realm based security with Form method. Encrypt method is MD5 as default. The database is PostgreSQL 8.4 installed locally (or 8.3 available via lan). My app used to work finely on GlassFish v2.1 server with PostgreSQL 8.3, but now I need to deploy it on GlassFish v3. I am absolutely sure I have done all the same config on GFv3 like creating Connection Pool (which pings with no problem), JDBC Resource and JDBC Realm. But on GFv3 I get login exception with "invaliduserreason" while the database schema is just created from the working database script. I have checked the data and entered login/password thousand times and it seems that data is all right. So where can I find the reason of unworking security? Please, advice. NetBeans 6.8 Thanks.

• Using a datanase class in my user class?

  In my project I have a database class that I use to handle all the MySQL stuff. It connects to a database, runs queries, catches errors and closes the connection. Now I need to create a members area on my site, and I was going to build a users class that would handle registration, logging in, password/username changes/resets and logging out. In this users class I need to use MySQL for obvious reasons... which is what my database class was made for. But I'm confused as to how I would use my database class in my users class. Would I want to create a new database object for my user class and then have it close whenever a method in that class is finished? Or do I somehow make a 'global' database class that can be used throughout my entire script (if this is the case I need help with that, no idea what to do there.)   I'm still getting my feet wet with the iPhone SDK, but I'm wondering if it would be possible to get the ConnectionKit framework working for an iPhone app. I know it was developed for the desktop OS, so I'm not sure what sort of dependencies it has and whether or not it could be shoehorned into the iPhone OS. In my case, I would like to use its FTP functionality, though having access to this entire framework could prove useful for future projects as well. Any ideas or experience trying this?   Hello I have to create a simple app, that will suit as an example of using WPF and WCF for creating HMI screens. I'm not sure what WCF is supposed to do in such application, I guess there must be an OPC server that my application connects to. Does app connect to OPC server using WCF service and does the WCF service reside inside the application or outside? Is WCF service meant to be used only as a connection to OPC server? I'm not yet quite sure which process to simulate, I need something simple. Please, any ideas are welcomed. Thank you

  Hi all, I am trying to profile CPU usage using TPTP. Application to profile run on Linux RH AS5. I installed and configured Agent Controller like described here I ran the java application using the command java '-agentlib:JPIBootLoader=JPIAgent:server=standalone,file=log.trcxml;CGProf' MyApp The monitoring station is All-In-one TPTP version 4.6.2. I followed the stepes described here on Eclipse - on the "Profile Configuration" I choose a new configuration for "Attach to Agent", set the host to my remote linux machine where MyApp is running, test connection succeed and when I get to the "Agents" tab, I see "Pending...", a background process "Feching children for host" is running and can't find anything which makes it impossible to profile. Any idea?

I'm building an MFC app in Visual Studio 2008 which classifies textures and I need some sort of lightweight database to hold the characteristics (just some doubles and strings) which can be: -carried around with the app on different computers; -be able to perform queries on it from the app (searches , updates ,inserts ,etc); Currently I'm looking into SQL compact edition because it was very easy to create from Visual Studio ( I also need only one table) but I having a hard time connecting and updating the db from C++.   Hi, We are a .NET LOB shop using MS CRM as our CRM platform. To this end, we many times a day during development phases are using remote debugging due to 2 connection limit to the server. We are able to setup remote debugging without logging onto the machine by using PsExec. This works great - but how the heck do we kill the remote debugger for that user, once we are finished debugging? In fact, not even sure how to kill the remote debugger in general, even when manually opening it... without remoting into server and using task manager, or keeping the server open and doing File-Exit on the debugger. Any advice?

• SubSonic-based app that connects to multiple databases

  Hello there, I currently developed an app that connects to SQL Server 2005 database, so my DAL objects where generated using information from that DB. It will also be possible to connect to an Oracle and MySQL db, all with the same table structures (aside from the normal differences in fields, such as varbinary(max) in SQL Server and BLOB in Oracle, and so on). For this purpose, I already defined multiple connection strings and multiple SubSonic providers for the different DB's the app will run on. My question is, if I generated my objects using a SQL Server database, should the generated objects work transparently with the other DB's or do I need to generate a different DAL for each database engine I use? Should I be aware of any possible bugs I may encounter while performing these operations? Thanks in advance for any advice on this issue.

• Huge EAR deployment

  Hello all, I'm trying to figure out how to deploy a huge (40-50 MB) EAR file to the server through a rather slow VPN connection. The EAR contains EJB and WAR projects created in Glassfish, and 90% of the file size is from external dependency libraries used. Has anyone came up with a strategy for elegant deployment to production system from Netbeans, where the deployment (over the network) is done only for what is really needed (i.e. just one WAR, not the entire EAR, or just one lib, not the entire libraries subproject). Related to the first point, how to separate external dependency libs from project in Netbeans, so that the project compiles on development machine, but when the EAR/WAR/EJB is created it does not contain all the dependency JARs, which are making it huge. Perhaps we need to write custom ant script? Start using maven? Thank you all for kind answers, Bozo

• JSP load external php not using iFrames

  I have a bit of an issue with a site I maintain. I have been asked to add a report to a page that sits in a jsp page. The reporting information comes from a MySQL database. The problem is to connect the jsp to the database would require added functions to code that I do not have the original source of. I thought about redoing all the db connection again but thats a lot of time for something that will probably be rewritten in 3 weeks. Then I thought of just using PHP to display the report in the jsp as I have other pages connecting to the database using php (long story as to why were are using 2 languages). But the only way I know of is by using iFrames which is a bit of a no no. Using the object tag I've seen also has errors in IE. What would be the best way to do this?

  I'm connecting to Informix 6.5 using the IBM OLE DB Driver. Some clarification: Informix Dynamic Server Workgroup Edition. Please note that there are many versions of IDS/WE - it helps to be precise about which version you have. It might be something like 10.00.TC1; the version number could be as old as 7.xx.TCx, or as new as 11.50.TCx. If your server is not on Windows but on Unix - or is on 64-bit Windows - the letter 'T' would change to 'U' (32-bit Unix) or 'F' (64-bit - Unix or Windows), or even 'H' (a particular HP-UX configuration). When I try to create a dataset using the VS DataSet wizard, after clicking on test connection it tells me 'Base Table not found'? The OLEDB driver is the official one provided by IBM. The problem with the 'Table not found' dialog is that Visual Studio doesn't tell me the table name but only the error! Has anyone else had this problem?

That means that user might not be logged in, so why are you using that ID to get there private info from the database? Shouldn't userid = authenticated_userid(request) be used instead to make sure the user is logged in? What's the advantage of using unauthenticated_userid(request)? Please help me understand what's going on here.

  I have the following requirements I have relational content stored in a SQL Server 2005 database. I want to retrieve this data, transform it and display it in an Excel 2007 document. I would like this to be pulled from within Excel at the click of a button. As far as I can tell I have the following options... Create a view in Sql Server and reference it within a pivot table using a data connection. Create an Excel workbook using VSTO and create a web service which the workbook pulls data from Create a web service and use JScript with XMLHTTP request objects I currently only have a little experience of any of these methods (I'm very familiar with SQL Server although not pivot tables, I've created many web services although I've never used VSTO and I've used javascript extensively, but never in the context of Excel manipulation). Would you recommend one of the above approaches or is there a better way to do this?

  I am using Java wrapper of mailchimp API for converting to inline CSS. I downloaded the java wrapper and tried with method inlineCss(); I register with Mailchimp and got the Api key. API Key: d5296efe2d4879e90d95b151804f8d30-us1 I am getting the below exception while calling the ping(apiKey) method. Could you please provide me the solution to resolve this problem.   Setting up SSRS. For Service Account, 1. I set a domain account as the Report Server Service Account. 2. click apply 3. SQL Server Connection Dialog pops up. Need to specify an account with admin privileges. i. set Credentials Type = SQL Server Account ii. • NHibernate handling mutliple resultsets from a sp call

  I'm using a stored procedure to handle search on my site, it includes full text searching, relevance and paging. I also wanted it to return the total number of results that would have been returned, had paging not being there. So I've now got my SP returning 2 select statements, the search and just SELECT @totalResults. Is there any way I can get NHibernate to handle this? I'm currently accessing the ISession's connection, creating a command and executing the SP myself, and mapping the results. This isn't ideal, so I'm hoping I can get NH to handle this for me. Or if anyone has any other better ways of creating complicated searches etc with NH, I'd really like to hear it.

I provided all the information of the sql express but it still can't connect. My machine has got 1.) SQL Server 2000 [Default instance eg computername ] 2.) SQL Server Express 2005 [Default Named Instance eg computername$SQLExpress ] *I can make easy connection from Microsoft SQL Server Management Studio.
