• Blank screen after upgrading to 10.04 to 10.10

  I have upgraded my desktop to Lucid from karmic online through update manager - facing problems, request your help. After completing upgrade and then reboot, I am getting blank screen. Tried to login but unsuccessful. Also the data backup done pre-upgrade was partial, I donot want to lose data. Request to please provide steps to rollback without losing data as I am new to ubuntu. Also I have a single partition. Graphics card is agp-8x integrated (hp d530)

• GPG and libpcap help

  I was trying to install the newest version of libpcap (as the version in the repositories doesn't seem current) and ran into the following problem. I copied the tcpdump-workers.asc text from the tcpdump website (which hosts libpcap as well) and imported the key to my keyring using gpg --import tcpdump-workers.asc. That when all well and fine but when I tried to verify the libpcap-1.4.0.tar.gz file against the key with gpg --verify, I ended up getting the message that unexpected data. was found. I am wondering if anyone else has run into this problem as the ancient technique of googling my problem has done little to answer my question.

  Bonjour, Je lance ce débat pour parler d'ActivePerl. En fait, il y a quelques années, il n' y avait que la version 5.8 (pour ne pas parler de la 5.6) qui évoluée régulièrement. Pendant ce temps, le développement de la 5.10 suivait son cours. Puis, nous nous sommes retrouvés avec 2 versions en évolutions. Il a fallu quelques mois pour espérer avoir nos sympathiques modules Perl du CPAN compatibles sur les deux versions. Maintenant la politique d'ActivePerl est de proposer une version stable chaque année. C'est intéressant car Perl est très maintenu et évolue bien, mais sincèrement, on se retrouve avec x versions de Perl et on s'y perd. Actuellement, il y a 4 versions d'ActivePerl 5.8, 5.10, 5.12 et 5.14, et je ne parle pas de Perl6, Parro...

  I submitted a couple websites on yahoo directory a month ago. For some reason, the url they listed was not the url I asked for, they listed the Japanese version instead of the submitted English version (this is a English directory so obviously it is a mistake). I requested changes and was accepted. But the reality is they promised a change but it was never really done. I contacted them again and again through the 'request a change in URL' form, but there is no answer. Is there any effective way that I can get to them? preferably a phone number or email?   I have to following situation: I had an old blog that was made using Joomla (this blog was indexed well enough by search engines). For some problems I delete it and I have create it again using WordPress. Now I have many visit (from Google) that leading to specific pages of the old site (pages that don't exist in the new version). For example I have visit to URL as: /scorejava/index.php/corso-spring-mvc/1-test that don't exist on my new site. I would know if using the .htaccess file (or other sistem) I can redirect the HTTP request directed to some subfolder (that don't exist in the new version) to the homepage of my new site. For example I have the request towards the void URL: /scorejava/index.php/corso-spring-mvc/1-test. And I would create a regular expression that say something like: all the request toward the subfolder corso-spring-mvc (and all it's content file and subfolder) have to be redirected to www.scorejava.com. Is it possible?

  So I thought my issue was relating to the difference between a Debug and a Release build as per this question: What's the difference between a "Release" Xbox 360 build and a "Debug" one? but I've since found that if I go ahead and build a Creators Club version of the game using a Debug build and deploy to the XBOX, I get the same experience I had with the Release version of my game. However if I run the game from Visual Studio using F5 and having set the XBOX as the default platform, then the game runs as expected. If I change from Debug to Release and run with CTRL+F5 then the game also works as expected. How would running the game with the debugger attached change the results I am getting in game? Is there any way that I can use the same approach or change the default compilation of the game so that I can use this approach to release my game?

  Unity is misbehaving after installing GLX Dock - HUD does not open with GLX Dock turned off and there are ugly shadows in the panel,three control buttons (close,minimise,maximise) and "Ubuntu Desktop" label when there are no apps running.I have to click the top panel to get the super key to open the dash. Now I'm trying to update to version 11.10 but I get an error message saying it is not possible to upgrade, I decided to install a partition that I created the part, but when I start the PC directly opens Windows 7 does not appear to me the option to choose which want to start the operating system. I formatted the partition where you had installed ubuntu, I've been looking for tutorials where you learn how to install ubuntu on a partition part to try to understand what my problem.
