  • How to block this URL pattern in Varnish VCL?

    My website is getting badly hit by spambots and scrappers, I am using Cloudflare but the problem still remains there. The problem is spambots accessing non-existing urls causing a lot of load to my drupal backend which goes all the way and bootstraps db just to serve a 404 error doc. I cant simply dish out non-drupal 404's for all page not found errors, as I need to have drupal catch them. Since, varnish is in front it can check if the bot is acting nice and asking for valid url - if not it servers them a 404 or 403. These bots are causing errors using this pattern : http://www.megaleecher.net/http:/www.megaleecher.net/Using_iPhone_As_USB_Mass_S/Using_iPhone_As_USB_Mass_S/Using_iPhone_As_USB_Mass_S/Using_iPhone_As_USB_Mass_S/Using_iPhone_As_USB_Mass_S/Using_iPhone_As_USB_Mass_S/Using_iPhone_As_USB_Mass_S/Using_iPhone_As_USB_Mass_Storage Now, pls. suggest a regex varnbisg VCL directive which catches this URL pattern and serves a 404 error from varnish, preventing it from reaching apache/drupal ?

Here is a example: item_begin etcitem 3344 item_type=etcitem is first line and item_begin weapon 3343 item_type=weapon is second. Well i want to replace item_type=weapon at second line with item_type=armor.   • .htacces Rewrite Rule to Keep .php File Extensions

    I'm upgrading my static website that had .php extensions on the content pages. I've created my own simple cms which will start retrieving data from mysql database from now on, keeping the url structure same as the old once. The cms has get function to retrieve url structure from the database. Overall it started working fine with .html when i tested. But when i change the .html extension to .php in my .htaccess code the content pages starts reflecting "Internal Server Error. The server encountered an internal error or misconfiguration and was unable to complete your request." Here is my .htaccess code which i've used: RewriteBase / Options +FollowSymLinks RewriteEngine On RewriteRule ^([^?]*).php$ content.php?pid=$1 Perhaps there is a conflict, here is the code with .html extension that actually works fine. RewriteBase / Options +FollowSymLinks RewriteEngine On RewriteRule ^([^?]*).html$ content.php?pid=$1 So basically, content pages with .html are working & .php are not working. But i need my content pages to be with .php Please help. Thanks in advance... :)

If I actually give the entire path in C# then I am able to retrieve the XML values, but if I give the project path then it is not getting the values. For example: string fileNamePath=ConfigurationManager.AppSettings["XMLDocPath"].ToString() + fileName; m_xmld.Load(fileNamePath); It is throwing a runtime error.

  • exit /B 0 does not work...

    Hi, I have the following problem: I have created a batch script which calls itself in there (for being able to write a log in parallel). In the script I start another process (like start startServer.bat) which starts up a java process and keeps opened up all the time. In my original script I wait 30 seconds, check if the process is running and do an: exit /B 0 Unfortunately that does not work, the window shows that the exit /B 0 is being evaluated, but the window still keeps open. When I close the window with the other process (meaning the "child" processes started up in my .bat) my script continues its run. So: scriptA.bat - in there I call: start startServer.bat - wait 30 seconds - check is server is started - exit /B 0 Process hangs up! What's very odd, if I wrap another script around, like: scriptB.bat - call scriptA.bat ----- in there I call: start startServer.bat ----- wait 30 seconds ----- check is server is started ----- exit /B 0 - scriptA.bat continues without any hangup! I also tried the same with exit 0 (without /B) also, same result! In the first case it hangs up, in the second case my window closes as expected... Has anyone of you ever had such a problem before and knows what's wrong here? Process hangs up!

    I get this exception when I want to open a keystore java.io.FileNotFoundException: \resources\keystore (The system cannot find the path specified) Basically my application is like src/ client.java server.java resources/ keystore truststore And the faulty code : System.setProperty("javax.net.ssl.keyStore","/resources/keystore"); System.setProperty("javax.net.ssl.keyStorePassword", "ebanking"); I also tried ./resources/keystore, resources/keystore, \\resources\\keystore etc.. My application is supposed to work in an executable jar so no absolute path technique please.

  • How to copy files without slowing down my app?

    I have a bunch of little files in my assets which need to be copied to the SD-card on the first start of my App. The copy code i got from here placed in an IntentService works like a charm. However, when I start to copy many litte files, the whole app gets increddible slow (I'm not really sure why by the way), which is a really bad experience for the user on first start. As I realised other apps running normal in that time, I tried to start a child process for the service, which didn't work, as I can't acess my assets from another process as far as I understood. Has anybody out there an idea how a) to copy the files without blocking my app b) to get through to my assets from a private process (process=":myOtherProcess" in Manifest) or c) solve the problem in a complete different way Edit: To make this clearer: The copying allready takes place in a seperate thread (started automaticaly by IntentService). The problem is not to separate the task of copying but that the copying in a dedicated thread somehow affects the rest of the app (e.g. blocking to many app-specific resources?) but not other apps (so it's not blocking the whole CPU or someting) Edit2: Problem solved, it turns out, there wasn't really a problem. Many Applications seem to do this but other than for care of overwriting Users' existing data I guess it has no real significance. I'm having a purge on my installer packaging and I'd like to know if there any good reasons for specific date/time handling.
