  • i keep getting a 403 forbidden permission error on my fedora server through my local network

    Trying to view a javascript file on my home server I get the following error: Forbidden You don't have permission to access /jquery-1.8.2.js on this server. Apache/2.2.22 (Fedora) Server at 192.168.1.3 Port 80 I have given all users access to the file like this: sudo chmod -R 777 /var/www/html/jquery-1.8.2.js I have even gone as far as changing the user & group properties in the httpd.conf file.

    The only way I know how to open the Select Users, Computers, Service Accounts or Groups is by right clicking on a folder and selecting Properties - Security Tab - Edit - Advanced. Below is a screen shot of the window I want to access: Is there any other way to view the full list (Find Now)? I am writing documentation and I want the user to check if a user exists before creating it. I would ideally like them to access this via control panel or similar.

    I'm a CS uni student in a country with limited bandwidth, and I find that I download files (particularly install files) for reuse\reinstallation\giving to my friends.. I've kept these files in different folders, and now find it extremely hard to find them, and keeping track of obselete files (the almost weekly releases of iTunes versions, or latest 7zip release or the .Net framework installers). What I would like to find is a file manager that could support tags, so instead of hierachical folders, i could find\view files according to their tags...

  • recovering USB printer

    I have an USB printer, that was discovered and installed properly. At some point, I suppressed it in the printer view of the config panel. If I try to add a new local printer, it says : Only use this option if you don't have an USP printer ( Windows automatically installs USB printer). How can I make windows automatically reinstall the USB printer I accidentally suppressed ? Edit : It is a dell all-in-one 920 printer, and I just tried to download and reinstall dell software.

    I'm looking for a tool to monitor custom PHP Error logs/Apache and possibly Java logs on remote development servers. I'm not looking for a full production log system like Splunk, but something that's a little more flexible than an ssh terminal doing a "tail -f". Perhaps something that will: * Monitor multiple log files to my local machine for searching/analysis later * Allow "alerts" when certain strings appear in the log * Provide some kind of tabbed/dashboard view of the multiple logs being monitored (in total less than 10 logs).

  • Forefront TMG: Can you monitor realtime TCP connections and bandwidth on a per-user basis?

    I'm just starting a trial of ForeFront TMG to use as a proxy server. I know I can get a real time activity monitor and filter on a per user basis, but would like to be able to get a real time activity monitor of all users that I can then sort by bandwidth consumed (enabling me to get a view on who the bandwidth hogs are). Does anyone know if this is possible in Forefront TMG or if a third party product is required? Thanks. JR

  • Excel 'recently used list' not showing on start menu, but working within excel

    In windows 7 when you pin Excel 2007 to the start menu, it usually has a small arrow which shows your recently opened documents. Mine only shows permanently pinned documents. It used to work until I tried Office 2010 and then uninstalled it. If I open Excel and click on the file menu, I can see all the recently opened documents so they are being recorded somewhere... Any idea on how to restore it so I can view them on the start menu - Which I always used before?

  • Some sites won't load on Ubuntu/Mint

    I have a REALLY weird problem with either my network or my OS. Last week I've suddenly had difficulties loading some websites or even more odd some parts of different websites. For example, I could load gmail.com, login and view the list of emails in my inbox but when I clicked one of them it would just time out. Another example is http://www.ynet.co.il, I can view the home page but going into any one of the articles fails (times out). I've tried Chrome, Firefox and Opera, all fail the same way. If I take a URL of a page I cannot load via the browser and try to wget it though the console I get the file just fine. I've formatted my machine (Used to run Ubuntu 13.04) and installed Mint Linux this time, it worked fine for a few days and now, again, having the same exact issues. Important to note that I have other machines connected either directly or via Wi-Fi to the router and they are all working fine (two win7 machines and 1 raspberry pi). Another strange behavior is that I can ftp or ssh to remote machines but cannot send files via ftp (times out) even if I set passive mode ON and when using ssh I can do just about anything but I cannot paste text into the remote machine, for example if I nano a file on the remote machine and try to paste anything from my clipboard it freezes. What I've tried so far: Disable IPv6 on the networking admin (and on firefox disabling ipv6 on the about:config page) Changing the port and the network cable I went to the store and bought a new standalone PCIe network adapter Connected my win7 laptop using the same cable and router port (sites that were not working on my Mint are working just fine on the win7 machine) Loaded Mint from a livecd, got the same result Tried changing the MTU (was 1500, tried 1492) Some observations: When I clear my browser cache and go to facebook.com for example, the homepage loads but I fail to load any profile/group page. If I refresh facebook.com homepage a couple of times it stops and fails to load until I clear my browser cache. I changed the chrome cache folder permissions to 0777 but that did not help. When I run netstat -n I see A LOT of connections that are in 'FIN_WAIT' mode (I'm guessing that's when I try to refresh pages that are not working and timing out), I have no idea what it means or if it helps anyone figure out what's wrong. The sites that are not loading correctly are always that same, they don't vary or anything and they fail to load exactly the same way on all three browsers that I've tried. When I Googled 'Ubuntu some sites not loading' I see a huge amount of complaints just like mine, but none of them that I could find actually says what the problem is or how they fixed it.     2 questions: Is application CPU usage on Android correlated and how highly to battery usage? In other words, are apps that suck a lot of CPU also draining the battery or not necessarily? Is there a way to itemize and display the phone's power use by application, at any given point in time as well as within defined time buckets and maybe view charts and such? Sort of like a diagnostic monitor for power usage by application or system component? Thanks

    I've added my gmail account to Mail.app It worked find in previous days, and downloaded thousands of previous mails. But now, it can't connect to gmail server for days. What's the matter here? Here is my config in account setting: Account Type: Gmail IMAP Email Address: [email protected] Incoming Mail Server: imap.gmail.com User Name: [email protected] Password: xxxxxx And also, is there any means that I can view the transaction log of Mail.app? Maybe there I can find more information.

  • Why is it possible to deploy a hypervisor within a hypervisor?

    Hi, Why is that a hypervisor, which alledgedly needs to be on physical hardware, can be deployed within a VM? For example, XenServer (the actual hypervisor) can be deployed in an ESX VM? Why is this possible (Although not a good idea for many reasons, but still works). Also, why do people say a hypervisor needs physical hardware (from an architectural point of view, rather than obvious performance reasons). Thanks

  • Reporting Services print dialog pops up after drill through

    Have encountered a problem with in Reporting Services 2005 with printing and drillthrough. If I view a report in Report Manager and then Print the report then I drillthrough from the first report to a second then when I click "back" to go back to the main report the Print dialog pops up. Has anyone else encountered this before? Does anyone know of any workarounds?
