• Nagios - How to display specific monitors for a specific user/contactgroup while these monitors will also be displayed to the Admin team?

  I have a Nagios server which monitors many servers, a number of the servers is used for QA matters. I'd like to allow the QA team access to the Nagios UI and i want them to be able to view only monitors which are related to their work. More than that, these servers which i want the QA team to monitor should be displayed for the admins group as well (as it is configured at the moment) in addition to the QA team. Is that doable?

• Remote access to server via service control panel for non-admin user in Windows 2008

  I'm trying to configure my Windows 2008 servers so that my developers can view their status without needing to log on to the box or be an admin. Unfortunately, the permissions set in Windows 2008 for remote non-admin users don't include the ability to enumerate or otherwise query services. This causes anything that contacts the SCM on the far end to fail (Win32_Service, sc.exe, services.msc etc). How do I set up permissions so that they can at least list the services and see if they are running?

• Missing pictures in folder

  I had a folder with some pictures, somehow these pictures are "missing" and I cannot see them anymore. The strange thing is that if I use the "preview" view in Explorer (the one that shows the tiny icons of the folder contents), the folder preview shows these pictures as if they were inside. Once I enter the folder, they are not there anymore. I tried showing hidden files and folders, that doesn't help. Any ideas on how to show or recover those files? I'm using Windows XP.

• Emptying site collection recycle bin doesn’t make content DB smaller?

  I deleted everything from a site collection recycle bin and remoted into the SQL server the content database is located on, went to view the WSS_Content and the sucker didn't get smaller. I had about a good 2 or 3 gigs of folders with files in the recycle bin. I just want to make sure that it is getting deleted. Is there something I am missing? Or does the SQL server not update file sizes properly? MOSS2007 IIS6 WinSer2003

• Emacs xkcd installation needs JSON 1.4, not found in ELPA

  I tried to install the xkcd emacs package (where you can view an xkcd comic in emacs) and got the following error: Need JSON 1.4, but only 1.2 is available I tried to get JSON 1.4 but I cannot find it in the package manager ELPA. It also says that I have JSON 1.3 built in and installed. A lot of things seem to not work correctly. How can I get xkcd to work inside of emacs? I use Ubuntu 12.04 and Emacs 24.3.

• How to filter RSOP to show only modified policies?

  Is it possible to view only those elements of GPO that are actually modified/specified? For example, when looking at RSOP for an OU, I have loads of options which are mostly not specified - can I automatically filter it to show only e.g. that it doesn't allow to use control panel or install software, instead of looking through all options? I am using Win2003 and I have only the default tools. Thanks in advance!

  XP3 Firefox 3.6.9 The Superuser and other sites state that I don't have Javascript enabled. I also am unable to view certain videos on the web and they say that I must have Javascript enabled. • How to auto advance a PowerPoint slide after an exit animation is over?

  PowerPoint entrance animation set up with "Start: With Previous" starts right when a new slide is advanced. However, if you set up an exit animation in the same way, it doesn't start with a slide ending sequence. Instead, the "Start: On Click" trigger needs to be used and after your exit animation is over you still need one extra click just to advance to the next slide. Workarounds to this are obvious: create a duplicate slide, make your ending animations from the original slide being your starting animations on the duplicate slide and let them be followed with whatever you want or create a transition slide with those ending animations only and set up "Change Advance slide - Automatically after - [the time it takes your animations to finish]". These workarounds will make it work for your audience, visually. However, it has an impact on slide numbers you might need to adjust accordingly and/or duplicate content changes. If you are the only one creating and using your presentation, this might be just fine. But if you are creating a presentation in collaborative mode with three other people and don't even know who will be the presenter at the end, you can mess things up. Let's be specific: most of my slides have 0.2s fly in entrance animation applied to blocks of content coming from right, bottom or left. Advancing to the next slide I want them to fly out in another 0.2s exit animation being followed by new slide 0.2s fly in entrance animation of the new blocks. The swapping of the blocks should be triggered while advancing to the next slide, as usually. As mentioned, I'm not able to achieve this without one extra click between the slides. I wrote a VBA script that should start together with an exit animation and will auto advance a slide after 0.3s when the exit animation is over. That way I should get rid of those extra clicks which are needed right now. Sub nextslide() iTime = 0.3 Start = Timer While Timer < Start + iTime DoEvents Wend With SlideShowWindows(1).View .GotoSlide (ActivePresentation.SlideShowWindow.View.Slide.SlideIndex + 1) End With End Sub It works well when binded on a box, button or another object. But I can't make it run on a single click (anywhere on the slide) so that it could start together with the exit animation onclick trigger. Creating a big transparent rectangular shape over the whole slide and binding the macro on it doesn't help either. By clicking it you only get the macro running, exit animation is not triggered. Anyway, I don't want to bind the macro to any other workaround object but the slide itself. Anyone knows how to trigger a PowerPoint VBA script on slide onclick event? Anyone knows a secret setting that will make the exit animation work as expected i.e. animating right before exiting a slide while transitioning to the next one? Anyone knows how to beat this dragon? • Really remove non-permanent certificate exception in firefox

  I visited japan.indymedia.org and firefox gave me the "Invalid certificate" screen. I added an exception, but did not click "Store this exception permanently." But now firefox still happily visits the same site without giving any warnings, even after a restart of the browser. I tried going to the Options-Advanced-Encryption-View Certificates-Servers to remove the certificate but I did not find it there. How to remove this exception and make firefox give me the warning when visiting the site?

• Is there a way to set the Powerpoint Slide Sorter Zoom above 100%?

  In the PowerPoint slider sorter view, is there a way to set the zoom level larger than 100%? On PowerPoint for Mac this slider goes to much higher values, essentially allowing zoom all the way in to a single slide, but on the Windows version (depending on screen resolution and slide dimensions) the maximum zoom is often several slides wide. Evidently it's possible to achieve a similar affect by changing the page size, but is there some sort of preferences hack that will change the maximum value of this slider?

  Please look in to the picture,here am trying to open(with vi editor) my server console log file(around 100MB) and it takes more than two minutes to open with so many special characters.after deleting the first line (means typing "dd")then i can easily view the file and size of the file is also reduced very much.My server OS is RHEL 5.4 and jboss is running in to it. Please help me to avoid such junk characters coming to my server console log files and it helps me to save my valuable space in server.

• After exiting, the home folder cannot be visited?

  I ssh to a ubuntu sever, start a web project(Rails), then I can visit this project. I close the the ssh terminal, then the project says can not find files(view pages,css files and so on). I put the project in the home folder(/home/byht). why? When closing the ssh terminal, the user's folder can not be visited ? You know, when I put the project in another folder(/usr/local), everything goes well.

• Something remapped <C-w> in Vim, how do I reclaim it?

• How to "FTP jail" with apache?

  i have a script that uploads images, creates a hash for it, creates 3 directories, and stores the image to imgs/f3s/v5g/234/536_f3sv5g2344270fd093ee8a9bf8de3de32dad.jpg (the “536_” is the user id) so im trying to turn imgs/f3s/v5g/234/536_f3sv5g2344270fd093ee8a9bf8de3de32dad.jpg into user_pics/536/536_f3sv5g2344270fd093ee8a9bf8de3de32dad.jpg how can i do that? i want that if someone wants to view the photo, they see the new directory in the url, not the one with 3 sub directories.
