  • How to cache YUI DataSource?

    I'm setting up a YUI DataTable with filtering by following the steps on the YUI site However, I am using JSON as the DataSource ResponseType. When I type in a value to filter, the request will be sent to the server again. I find this to be wasteful as all the data has already been retrieved the first time. Is there a way to cache the initial data returned and then filter only according to that data so another AJAX request does not have to be made?

    Does anyone know of a way to use the mxmlc task of the Flex Ant tasks with a user-definable list of source path or library paths? The idea is that the user can define an arbitrary list of source paths and/or library (swc) paths into an Ant properties file and the build file takes these values and evaluates them for use in the mxmlc task. Just wondering if there are any tricks (maybe utilizing filtering/string replacing) to get this working?

    I'm building an hybrid Android App using Phonegap/Apache Cordova. My app should get data from my web api. I'm using JSON to serve the data to the APP. So i got a the following code: function init() { document.addEventListener('deviceready', onDeviceReady, false); var url = "http://23.21.128.153:3000/regions.json";var jsonresults; $.getJSON(url,function(data){ jsonresults = data; $.each(jsonresults, function(i,v){ $('#main-content').append('<li>'+jsonresults[i].name+'</li>'); }); }); } and also on the body of the html i have a div called main-content. Everythings works fine in the Eclipse browser, but on the Android Emulator is not working.     Hello. Having single AMQ broker and 100 consumers connected. I would send the message to some specific consumer, so other consumers does not receive it (client-side filtering won't work). Simplest way is to create virtual destinations (name them queue:consumer-) for example and send messages there. However this will lead to 100 new queues which makes it more complex to monitor. Is there any other way to do this having single queue?

    I have a typical views page displaying nodes, with a taxonomy tid receiveid as an argument through the url: cat/% Now I want to further narow the results with an exposed filter by a cck field. All goes well and for tid=10 (for instance), the filtered page url is cat/10?field_no_people_value=5 Now, when I expose the filter in a block, the argument, tid, goes away and I get cat/all?field_no_people_value=5 . Obviously, filtering by tid doesn't happen anymore. How should I get around this?

    Hi, I have this sql statement SELECT * FROM Language WHERE LanguageCode=? where LanguageCode is a varchar(2). When I use sqlite3-prepare-v2 on that statement I got SQLITE_ERROR but if I use SELECT * FROM Language WHERE LanguageID=? where LanguageID is the primary key numeric identity field the statement compiles just fine. Is there any issue filtering by a varchar field using WHERE statement? Thanks

    Hi I'm developing a phonegap + JQueryMobile app, which should be correctly executed on Android, iOs and WindowsPhone as well. I need to exploit an external service wich requires one callback url to redirect the app to in case of success, and one in case of error (pretty common situation. In my case both will be local files, say www/success.html and www/error.html). Of course I could write different paths for each device (e.g. file:///android_asset/www/success.html on Android), but i'm wondering if the framework provide a more simple elegant solution. So the questions is, how can i get a unique absolute URL wich allows me to perform a cross-platform HTTP redirection from a remote web page to a local file within a phonegap application? Thanks

  • Book recommendation for a Ruby dev learning Java

    I've been a Ruby developer for the past 4-5 years, and prior to that coded in Perl and a language called ProvideX for years. As hard as it may seem, I've never written a Java application short of the basic Hello World app probably a decade ago. I'm beginning to start doing some Android development to port some iPhone applications we did for a client over to the Android platform. As such, I'm wondering what the best reference book I can buy is to get up to speed quickly with the features (and peculiarities) of Java. There are numerous "Learn Ruby for Java programmers" out there, but not really any reference books for going the otherway of Ruby-to-Java. I'm looking for something preferably like the "Learn Perl the Hard Way" book. I know how to code, I just need a reference on learning the proper mechanics of Java after having done Ruby (and a bit of Obj-C) work exclusively for the past few years.
