• how 2 use logmath twice in same form(sphinx4)

  i have configured sphinx with netbeans and its wroking fine. but im using a button to do the process. but after it recognisers. i want to do the process again. but then it gives a error saying the "logmath instance is already present" and saying cannot open the microphone. can someone give me a solution. what i want to do is use speech recogntion in several times in the same form. till it gives the correct answer. please help me this is the error i get "Creating new instance of LogMath while another instance is already present 10:53:27.833 SEVERE microphone Can't open microphone line with format PCM_SIGNED 16000.0 Hz, 16 bit, mono, 2 bytes/frame, big-endian not supported."

• Git: hide commit messages on remote repo

  Hi, I don't know how to bring my problem on the point so I try to explain it a bit ;-) When working with git on my local maschine I usually commit a lot. For this I use topic branches. Then I merge such a topic branch into a branch called develop which will be pushed to a remote repo. I always merge with --no-ff so their is always a commit for my whole topic. Now I'd like to only push this commit with a specified description what I did on the whole in this branch. I would prefer this because you can look at the commit history on the server and see directly what happend and don't need to read every single commit. And for my local work I would have the full history if I want to reset my branch or something similar. I don't know if their is a way to do this in git but it would be very useful for me so I give it a try to ask you ;-) Best regards, Sebastian

• iPhone: Having trouble figuring out how to scroll a UITableView with custom UITextField cells automa

  Ok, I know this seems like a duplicate question, but don't think it is. I actually have this implemented already (thanks to this SO question), but it seems sluggish. I am willing to tweak it a bit, but I ran across a demo app by AboutObjects that seems to have exactly the right functionality with absolutely no code doing it. I have looked through their demo code dozens of times, and I can't figure out what they are doing that I am not. The code to look at is in their iPhone Development Tutorials section, and is called "Editable TableView" (2nd from the bottom). There are a couple of questions on the forums on that site asking how they got the functionality, but there is no answer (other than "It's a built in function"). Does anyone have any clue as to why their UITableView would implement the input scrolling by default (including being able to scroll the view manually when the keyboard pops up, which I cannot get to work)?

• Python File Meta Tag reading

  Anyone know of a Python module that can pull Tag data from multiple media formats? Trying to build an app that allows for manipulation of ASF (Windows Media Player files, ie WMA, WMV, etc), ID3, including both ID3v1 and ID3v2 (MPEG files, ie MP3), MPEG Audio Bit Stream (ie ABS, MP1, MP2, MP3), MPEG Program Stream (MPEG movies, and DVD and HD DVD video discs, ie MPG, MPEG, VOB, EVO), and ISO Base Media File Format (eg QuickTime, MPEG-4 and iTunes AAC files, ie QT, MOV, MP4, M4A, M4B, M4P, M4V, etc). Don't need ALL of that but just most standard consumer formats like mov and mpeg. I can't seem to find a good module to support that or a library. Any recommendations?

• Android: Context menu doesn't show up for ListView with members defined by LinearLayout?

  I've got a ListActivity and ListView and I've bound some data to it. The data shows up fine, and I've also registered a context menu for the view.   I'm currently trying to scrape a website that has fairly poorly-formatted HTML (often missing closing tags, no use of classes or ids so it's incredibly difficult to go straight to the element you want, etc.). I've been using BeautifulSoup with some success so far but every once and a while (though quite rarely), I run into a page where BeautifulSoup creates the HTML tree a bit differently from (for example) Firefox or Webkit. While this is understandable as the formatting of the HTML leaves this ambiguous, if I were able to get the same parse tree as Firefox or Webkit produces I would be able to parse things much more easily. The problems are usually something like the site opens a <b> tag twice and when BeautifulSoup sees the second <b> tag, it immediately closes the first while Firefox and Webkit nest the <b> tags. Is there a web scraping library for Python (or even any other language (I'm getting desperate)) that can reproduce the parse tree generated by Firefox or WebKit (or at least get closer than BeautifulSoup in cases of ambiguity).

• Insert record in Linq to Sql

  Is this the easiest way to insert a record with Linq to Sql when there's a many-to-many relationship, or is there a better/cleaner way? I wasn't sure why things weren't working at first, but when I added a second SubmitChanges() it worked. Why was this necessary? • How can I use Moose with Test::Class?

  I'm currently refactoring a test suite built up by a colleague and would like to use Test::Class[::Most] while doing so. As I started I figured out I could really use a couple of Moose roles to decouple code a little bit. • The reasons to upgrade from Delphi 2009

  I have made the question "community wiki" - it is subjective. I have upgraded to Delphi 2009 because of unicode support. I have found the anonymous methods a very interesting and useful language feature, I can't say the same about generics. The generics seemed important for me before the upgrade to Delphi 2009, but I have never used them and probably will never use. As for Delphi 2010, I don't need the attributes and I don't like the whole idea of extended RTTI - that is why Delphi 2009 is better for me. Sometimes I hit one or other annoying bug in Delphi 2009 IDE, but they are not critical and I can live with them. I have no plans to develop software for Mac or Linux. Sure sometime I will need 64-bit support, so I think about upgrading to Delphi 2012. Are where any more reasons that can force me to upgrade from Delphi 2009?

  Using EF we can use LINQ to read data which is rather simple (especially using fluent calls), but we have less control unless we write eSQL on our own. Is writing eSQL actually data store independent code? So if we decide to change data store, can the same statements still be used? Does writing eSQL strings in your code pose any serious security threats similar to writing TSQL statements as plain strings in C# code? That's why SPs are recommended. Could we still move eSQL scripts outside of code and use some other technique to make them a bit more secure?

  Hi , I built an application in c# vs2005 .net . Everything works fine when i run the application in win 32 bit, But when running the application in win 64 it crashes while trying to call the pinvoke interlockedexchange(which is within the kernel32.dll) function . This is the exception : unable to find an entry point named 'interlockedexchange' I didnt find the interlockedexchange function within the kernel32.dll under system32 directory but it was found under the syswow64 directory(in the kernel32.dll) . I guess that the .net runtime is configured to the system32 directory and not to the syswow64 . How is it possible to change this configuration ? Can you think of any other problem that could cause this? any help would be appreciated! thanks , Miki Amit

  I have some confusion related to the .NET platform build options in VS 2008 Does anyone have a clear understanding what does "Any CPU" compilation target is and what sort of files it generates? I examined the output executable of this "Any CPU" build and found that they are (who would not see that coming!) the x86 executables. So, is there any the difference between targeting executable to x86 vs "Any CPU"? Another thing that I noticed, is that managed C++ projects do not have this platform as option. I'm wondering why is that. Does that mean that my suspicion about "Any CPU" executables being plain 32-bit ones is right?

• Anyone use Distributed VCS in a corporate environment?

  I'm curious to hear about people's experiences with distributed version control in a corporate environment. Specifically: Was it difficult to gain adoption? Now that it's in place, is it well liked? What 'model' are you using (hub & spoke? Something else?) Allowing you use hub & spoke, are there any discipline problems with pushing to a central server? I'd like to hear if anyone has non-programmers working within this environment, preferably artists and the like to whom VCS can be a bit daunting. Did it work out for them?

The post works greate, the data is POSTED just fine and received ok, but the url of the posted page never appears in the browser after the cURL session is executed, for example look at the following code: $ch = curl_init("http://localhost/eterniti/cart-step-1.php"); curl_setopt($ch, CURLOPT_HEADER, false); curl_setopt($ch, CURLOPT_POST, true); curl_setopt($ch, CURLOPT_POSTFIELDS, "error=1&em=$em&fname=$fname&lname=$lname&email1=$email1&email2=$email2&code=$code&area=$area&number=$num&mobile=$mobile&address1=$address1&address2=$address2&address3=$address3&suburb=$suburb&postcode=$postcode&country=$country"); curl_exec($ch); curl_close($ch); The post works fine and I am taken to the cart-step-1.php where I can process the posted data, HOWEVER the location in the URL address bar of the browser remains that of the script page, in this case proc_xxxxxx.php Any ideas how to get the URL address to reflect the page I am actually POSTED to? • Editing a 9gb .sql file

  Hi. I've got a "slightly" large sql script saved as a textfile. It totals in at 8.92gb, so it's a bit of a beast. I've got to do some search and replaces in this file(specifically, change all NOT NULL to NULL, so all fields are nullable) and then execute the darned thing. Does anyone have any suggestions for a text editor that would be capable of this? The other way that I can see to solve the problem is to write a program that reads a chunk, does a replace on the stuff I need, and then save it to a new file, but I'd rather use some standard way of doing this. It also does not solve the problem of opening the beast up in sql server management studio to execute the darned thing... Any ideas? Thanks, Eric

• Get user-inputed file name from JFileChooser Save dialog box

  This answer to this question may seem obvious, but I'm actually struggling with it quite a bit. I've searched through JFileChooser methods in the API, and I've looked at some of the questions already asked and answered here on stackoverflow. My question is this. In my program, I am to allow the user to type in a file name which I will then use to create a brand new file that I will write on. How do you get the text the user has entered in the textfield next to the label "Save As:" on the Save dialog box provided by JFileChooser? Is there a JFileChooser method that would allow me to get that user-inputed text? Or would I have to go through another class, or do something else to get that text? Thank you so much, to anyone who answers. It's very late for me now, and this program is due in a few hours (meaning I'll be having another sleepless night). Desperate may be too strong a word, but I'm something close enough.

  This is what my LinearLayout (horizontal) row looks like: I want the text of the checkbox to be on one line; The buttons don't have to be that wide - they'll still have plenty of space with the checkbox text lengthened a bit. • Quickly check which part of the page lifecycle a control is in

  Is there any way to check what events have fired during the asp.net webforms page/control lifecycle? I know that I can manually add handlers for each event, but that seems a bit ... inefficient. Is there a visualiser, or a property that I can check that will tell me whether these events have fired? EDIT The reason I want to know this is that I am overriding the ViewState property of a custom control, and the viewstate disappears at some point, and I'd like to know at which point in the page lifecycle it is being overriden.

  I need to be able to check for a pattern with | in them. For example an expression like d*|*t should return true for a string like "dtest|test". • Updatepanel refresh messing up JqueryUI in IE7

  Hey everyone, This is a bit of a long shot as I don't have access to the code at the moment. However, there's nothing 'special' about the code. I'm using a combination of JqueryUI and ASP.NET UpdatePanels. If I click any of the trigger controls (asp.net button), the partial-postbacks are fine. However, if I click on a trigger control after clicking on a JQueryUI button, then the entire layout messes up and a lot of the content moves upwards. I can just about reach a JQueryUI button, and when I click that, the layout returns to normal and everything's fine until I click the trigger control again. The page works fine in all latest browsers, but this problem appears in IE 7. I hope maybe someone has come across a similar problem in IE 7 and found a workaround/solution. I've been trying to fix it for a couple of days, but no luck. Thanks for any advice.

  Hi I want to perform a shrink animation on a UITableVIew. I experimented a bit and found out that the animation runs much faster when I shrink a UIImageView with an image of the current state of the tableview instead of shrinking the table view itself. I grabbed the image in a method in my main viewcontroller prior to the animation: UIGraphicsBeginImageContext(mainTableView.bounds.size); [resizeContainer.layer renderInContext:UIGraphicsGetCurrentContext()]; UIImage *viewImage = UIGraphicsGetImageFromCurrentImageContext(); UIGraphicsEndImageContext(); Works like a charm, at least almost. On very rare occasions I get weird graphic glitches, where the UIImage starts to overlap a toolbar that lies underneath it. I just want to make sure that I am getting the image in the right way. I am laking the necessary understand of GraphicContexts to be sure about it. To cut a long story short, is my code correct? Thx

  Hi,I've just completed my freshman year in college and am majoring in EE (with a lot of interest in CS as well) . I know some Python,C/C++ and Java and also a little bit of Actionscript . I am planning to learn either Haskell or Ruby on Rails. Haskell because it is a functional programming language, and I've been really impressed by this paradigm and Ruby on Rails , as I don't know any 'web' programming language and have heard that you can develop apps in RoR very easily and quickly . Which one should I learn ? and please suggest some links / books for starting off .
