    Hi, I added the interfaceOrientation to my app. It works fine concerning the views. Some of the table-cells I defined by CGRects to position the text in the cell. In portrait-mode the cell is 300px long, in landscape-mode 420px.   • Generate A Simple Read-Only DAL?

    I've been looking around for a simple solution to this, trying my best to lean towards something like NHibernate, but so far everything I've found seems to be trying to solve a slightly different problem. Here's what I'm looking at in my current project: We have an IBM iSeries database as a primary repository for a third party software suite used for our core business (a financial institution). Part of what my team does is write applications that report on or key off of a lot of this data in some way. In the past, we've been manually creating ADO .NET connections (we're using .NET 3.5 and Visual Studio 2008, by the way) and manually writing queries, etc. Moving forward, I'd like to simplify the process of getting data from there for the development team. Rather than creating connections and queries and all that each time, I'd much rather a developer be able to simply do something like this: var something = (from t in TableName select t); And, ideally, they'd just get some IQueryable or IEnumerable of generated entities. This would be done inside a new domain core that I'm building where these entities would live and the applications would interface with it through a request/response service layer. A few things to note are: The entities that correspond to the database tables should be generated once and we'd prefer to manually keep them updated over time. That is, if columns/tables are added to the database then we shouldn't have to do anything. (If some are deleted, of course, it will break, but that's fine.) But if we need to use a new column, we should be able to just add it to the necessary class(es) without having to re-gen the whole thing. The whole thing should be SELECT-only. We're not doing a full DAL here because we don't want to be able to break anything in the database (even accidentally). We don't need any kind of mapping between our domain objects and the generated entity types. The domain barely covers a fraction of the data that's in there, most of it we'll never need, and we would rather just create re-usable maps manually over time. I already have a logical separation for the DAL where my "repository" classes return domain objects, I'm just looking for a better alternative to manual ADO to be used inside the repository classes. Any suggestions? It seems like what I'm doing is just enough outside the normal demand for DAL/ORM tools/tutorials online that I haven't been able to find anything. Or maybe I'm just overlooking something obvious?

  • Hibernate Transient Extends problem

I dont know why this is happening since when hibernate is creating the artist object and checks for annotations, it should see the transient annotation present on the getTest() of artist method...and should not create a column in the database... Let me know if you need any clarification.... Any response on this is greatly appreciated.... Thank you

  • C++ socket protocol design issue (ring inclusion)

    So I have these two classes, mpqs_client and client_protocol. The mpqs_client class handles a Boost socket connection to a server (sending and receiving messages with some specific format. Upon receiving a message, it calls a static method, parse_message(..), in the class client_protocol, and this method should analyse the message received and perform some corresponding action. Given some specific input, the parse_message method needs to send some data back to the server. As mentioned, this happens through the class mpqs_client. So I could, from mpqs_client, pass "this" to parse_message(..) in client_protocol. However, this leads to a two-way association relationship between the two classes. Something which I reckon is not desireable. Also, to implement this, I would need to include the other in each one, and this gives me a terrible pain. I am thinking this is more of a design issue. What is the best solution here? Code is posted below.   • Removing the port number from URL

    I'm new to anything related to servers and am trying to deploy a django application. Today I bought a domain name for the app and am having trouble configuring it so that the base URL does not need the port number at the end of it. I have to type www.trackthecharts.com:8001 to see the website when I only want to use www.trackethecharts.com.     I have a little problem with adding EventListener to multiple objects on stage. I have above 40 buttons on stage named "Button01","Button02" .. "Button40", and i'm looking for easiest way to add EventListener to all of them. Creating something like Button01.addEventListener(MouseEvent.CLICK, doSomething) Button02.addEventListener(MouseEvent.CLICK, doSomething) .. Button40.addEventListener(MouseEvent.Click, doSomething) (Notice the same function). isn't solution i'm looking for :(. Thanks in advice.

    I am trying to use Linq2Sql to return all rows that contain values from a list of strings. The linq2sql class object has a string property that contains words separated by spaces. public class MyObject { public string MyProperty { get; set; } } Example MyProperty values are: MyObject1.MyProperty = "text1 text2 text3 text4" MyObject2.MyProperty = "text2" For example, using a string collection, I pass the below list var list = new List<>() { "text2", "text4" } This would return both items in my example above as they both contain "text2" value.   • Android Development-cannot download an image outside of onCreate

    hi everyone...... im new to android development........and i am stuck with a problem...... i am trying to develop an android application that shows the user the location of atms,hotels etc on a google map....i havent started working on the gps yet.as of now the app works something like this....first of all a map loads on which i intend to show the users current location......on clicking on the menu button there are 3 options..... -services -about us -quit on selecting services option the following options are available...... -atm -hospital -hotel etc on selecting the atm option we will be shown a screen displaying some text........ on using the menu for this screen we get the following menu items..... -sbi -canara -hdfc -icici etc my intention is that when the user selects the sbi option a map should load showing the various places where there are sbi atms near where the user is currently...... ......i started out with the google map api but i had to quit because when i select one of the menu options, such as "sbi",the map doesnt load......instead i am getting the error "application failed to load"...basically i was trying to load a map activity from my first map activity......after googling a bit without any results i tried another approach.......i tried to download and view the static map of the location i wanted..it worked.......but when i tried to download the static map when i select an option like before i get the same error..."application failed to load"...then i tried downloading 2 images from inside onCreate....that worked.......i cannot do the same thing outside the onCreate.....for eg.inside the function for the selected option... i have given the link to my code below..... if someone can please look into this it would be of great help to me.........i have been sitting with this problem for days now......and its urgent too.......i have done the project in eclipse....... httpDownload.java --- http://dpaste.com/195981/

IS this correct? Because the error is showing and am not sure why.     Hello every body I was using the JDK very well writing the code then i use "javac" to compile it then "java" to run it But Recently when i write a code and compile it then if i try to run it this exception appears to me "Exception in thread "main" java.lang.NoSuchMethodError " at first i thought there is something wrong in my code , i searched in the internet for a solving for this problem but i didn't find anything may help me Then i try to run the "HelloWorld" example i made it before, it runs i copied the code and pasted it in another file and changed the name to "HelloWorld2" and compile it by "javac" and tried to run it by "java" the same exception appears i was surprised why? it is the same code then i used the "javap" which decompile the code with both i found this difference in the first one (the old one) "public static void main(java.lang.String[])"; but in the second (the new one) "public static void main(String[])"; without java.lang then i compiled the old one which works and runs by "javac" and when i try to run it, it didn't run and give me the same exception i tried with some of my old codes it run and when i compile it by "javac" it doesn't work I searched to find a solution to this problem and i found nothing
