  • WPF: disable inheritance of properties

    Hi! I would like to use a TabControl as the main navigation in the application I am working on. So I would like to make the font in the headers of the TabItems bigger and also give it another background-color. However, I do not want this to be inherited. For example, if I use this code: <TabControl FontSize="18pt"> <TabItem Header="Tab 1"> <Button>Button 1</Button> </TabItem> </TabControl> The font in the button is also 18pt big. I know that this is normal dependency property behaviour because the property is inherited, but that's not what I want in this case. I would like to change the TabItems without changing anything in the children. Isn't that possible? Because re-setting all children to default values is a PITA. Thanks for your time.

    I want to make developing on my new projects easier, and I wanted a bare bones very simple template engine solution. I looked around on the net and everything is either too bloated, or makes me cringe. My HTML files will be like so: <html> <head> <title>{PAGE_TITLE}</title> </head> <body> <h1>{PAGE_HEADER}</h1> <p>Some random content that is likely not to be parsed with PHP.</p> </body> </html> Obviously, I want to replace {PAGE_TITLE} and {PAGE_HEADER} with something I set with PHP. Like this: <?php $pageElements = array( '{PAGE_TITLE}' => 'Some random title.', '{PAGE_HEADER}' => 'A page header!' ); ?> And I'd use something like str_replace and load the replaced HTML into a string, then print it to the page? This is what I'm on the path towards doing at the moment... does anyone have any advice or a way I can do this better? Thanks.

The app is made of a navigation controller with multiple table views but I am having issues sharing the Person object around.   • WCF Manual SOAP POST using HttpWebRequest over https with Usertoken

    Hi, I'm writing a client that calls a number of WCF webservices (written externallyt to my company) that are very similar in structure. The design I was hoping to use is to manually build the SOAP message from XML chunks that are stored in a database and then processed through a generic web service handler class. I have access to the WSDL's for each webservice and example working XML. The design approach is such that we can easily add to the message dynamically, hence the reason for not using the auto generated proxy classes I am basically at the last part now with the entire SOAP message constructed but am getting a SOAP fault security error returned. I have used fiddler to compare the message I'm sending with one that is sent using the normal (far simpler...) WCF generated proxy classes and can't see any difference apart from the id attribute of the Usertoken element in the SOAP header. This is where my lack of experience in this area isn't helping. I think this is because the id is generated automatically (presumably because we're using https). My question is how do I generate this programatically? I have searched for hours online but the majority of solutions are either using the proxy classes or not over https. I have briefly looked at WCE but aware this is replaced by WCF now so don't want to waste time looking into this if it's not the solution. Any help with this would be greatly appreciated. I can post some code examples when I'm back in work if it will help but the method I'm using is very straightforward and only using XElements and such like at the moment (as we're using linq to sql). thanks, Andy

  • IP address spoofing using Source Routing

    With IP options we can specify the route we want an IP packet to take while connecting to a server. If we know that a particular server provides some extra functionality based on the IP address can we not utilize this by spoofing an IP packet so that the source IP address is the privileged IP address and one of the hosts on the Source Routing is our own. So if the privileged IP address is x1 and server IP address is x2 and my own IP address is x3. I send a packet from x1 to x2 which is supposed to pass through x3. x1 does not actually send the packet. It is just that x2 thinks the packet came from x1 via x3. Now in response if x2 uses the same routing policy (as a matter of courtesy to x1) then all packets would be received by x3. Will the destination typically use the same IP address sequences as specified in the routing header so that packets coming from the server pass through my IP where I can get the required information? Can we not spoof a TCP connection in the above case? Is this attack used in practice?

They have confirmed that our request is hitting their servers but a response is supposed to come back in 1 of a few ways determined by a parameter.     Hello, I've noticed from here that the contents is only the header Revision 16532: /tags/3.3.2.SR1/samples/richfaces-demo/src/main/java/org/richfaces/demo/dataTableScroller and no listing of the dataTableScrollerBean.java file which the Edit Table/Modal Panel demo JSF code refers to. Where can I access it? I'd like to try the demo out on my machine. I've posted to RichFaces but SO tends to respond faster. Thanks Mark EDIT I've found some code (here) on a forum fortunately which is as close as I've come so far. Looks like it was written by one of the RichFaces authors, but when I included it, Eclipse is complaining about the Facet object which together with another forum and these import javax.ejb.Stateful; import javax.ejb.Stateless; suggest I may be missing j2ee.jar. But I'm running this out of Tomcat which is not an ejb container. I didn't think this RichFaces component required JBoss or equivalent so I must be doing something wrong. All I'm trying to do is try out an Edit Table! Thanks

  • Client-Server Networking Between PHP Client and Java Server

    Hi there, I have a university project which is already 99% completed. It consists of two parts-website (PHP) and desktop (Java). People have their accounts on the website and they wish to query different information regarding their accounts. They send an SMS which is received by desktop application which queries database of website (MySQL) and sends the reply accordingly. This part is working superbly. The problem is that some times website wishes to instruct the desktop application to send a specific SMS to a particular number. Apparently there seems no way other than putting all the load to the DB server... This is how I made it work. Website puts SMS jobs in a specific table. Java application polls this table again and again and if it finds a job, it executes it. Even this part is working correctly but unfortunately it is not acceptable by my university to poll the DB like this. :( The other approach I could think of is to use client-server one. I tried making Java server and its PHP client. So that whenever an SMS is to be sent, the website opens a socket connection to desktop application and sends two strings (cell # and SMS message). Unfortunately I am unable to do this. I was successfully to make a Java server which works fine when connected by a Java client, similarly my PHP client connects correctly to a PHP server, but when I try to cross them, they start hating each other... PHP shows no error but Java gives StreamCorruptedException when it tries to read header of input stream. Could someone please tell what I can try to make PHP client and Java server work together? Or if the said purpose can be achieved by another means, how? Regards, Yasir

  • Exporting from SSRS 2008 ReportViewer to Excel Causes Duplicate Columns

    I have a report that groups months by quarters, so each quarter has three months and the display of the months under the quarter is toggled by the quarter header. It looks just fine in the ReportViewer, but when exporting to Excel the first month in the quarter with data is duplicated and appended to the end of the quarter group. Here is what it looks like in the ReportViewer (with Quarters 2 and 4 expanded, note May and June do not have any data and show blank columns by design): http://i.imgur.com/MykZE.png This is how it looks when exported to Excel: http://i.imgur.com/zfLuk.png The collapsed Quarter should only show the LAST month in the quarter. You can see that in the Excel export July is inserted in Q1 even though it should be hidden entirely since that quarter is collapsed, December is appended to Q2, January is inserted into Q3, and April is duplicated and appended to Q4. Exporting the any format OTHER than Excel works correctly and does not insert these columns.   • JAX-WS client with Axis service

    I'm relatively new to web services, but I need to integrate a call to an existing service in my application. Ideally, I'd like to use JAX-WS because I'm looking for the simplest, quickest-to-develop solution on my end, and MyEclipse is able to generate a JAX-WS client from a WSDL. Unfortunately, the WSDL I've inherited was built from what appears to be Axis using RPC. Will this still work?     Hi, I have a simple ASP page with databound grid (bound to an object source). The grid is within the page of a wizard and has a 'select' checkbox for each row. In one stage of the wizard, I bind the GridView: protected void Wizard1_NextButtonClick(object sender, WizardNavigationEventArgs e) { ... // Bind and display matches GridViewMatches.EnableViewState = true; GridViewMatches.DataSource = getEmailRecipients(); GridViewMatches.DataBind(); And when the finish button is clicked, I iterate through the rows and check what's selected: protected void Wizard1_FinishButtonClick(object sender, WizardNavigationEventArgs e) { // Set the selected values, depending on the checkboxes on the grid. foreach (GridViewRow gr in GridViewMatches.Rows) { Int32 personID = Convert.ToInt32(gr.Cells[0].Text); CheckBox selected = (CheckBox) gr.Cells[1].FindControl("CheckBoxSelectedToSend"); But at this stage GridViewMatches.Rows.Count = 0! I don't re-bind the grid, I shouldn't need to, right? I expect the view-state to maintain the state. (Also, if I do rebind the grid, my selection checkboxes will be cleared) NB: This page also dynamically adds user controls in OnInit method. I have heard that it might mess with the view state, but as far as I can tell, I am doing it correctly and the viewstate for those added controls seems to work (values are persisted between postbacks) Thanks a lot in advance for any help! I wondered if the asp engine was databinding the grid during the page lifecycle to a datasource that was not yet defined. (In a test page, the GridView is 'automatically' databound'.   • iPhone TableView alternative options for Check Mark Accessory

    I'm looking for the best approach to this problem. In my tableview I have a list of options from which you can select one and only one. The problem is the selection to choose is not obvious without displaying more details on the option. If I use the disclosure indicator or button for the more detail, I lose the checkmark functionality. In searching around I see some have used the cell Image as a work around. I see others instead of using the standard disclosure button have created custom disclosure button looking like a checkmark. Haven't seen this one but is it viable (HIG) to add a button in the cell ('more info') to launch the next tableview. My thought was to use a disclosure indicator and on the second view in the navigation bar (where the edit button usually is) add a 'selectMe' button. I think I am probably manage to code either of the above, am just asking for information on what is the best (HIG) way. Example Option 1 Option 2 Option 3 (x) Option 4 Where x is the checked one But in order to know which is the best choice you need to see Option 3 (Header) Option 3-a Option 3-b Option 3-c Option 3-d Where even at this level option 3-c might have additional information. Any guidance you can provide would appreciated.

  • PInvoke Unbalances the stack

    Good afternoon, I have been working on a dll that can use CORBA to communicate to an application that is network aware. The code works fine if I run it as a C++ console application. However, I have gotten stuck on exporting the methods as a dll. The methods seems to export fine, and if I call a method with no parameters then it works as expected. I'm hung up on passing a C# string to a C++ method. My C++ method header looks like this: bool __declspec(dllexport) SpiceStart(char* installPath) My C# DLL import code is as follows: [DllImportAttribute("SchemSipc.dll", CharSet=CharSet.Ansi)] private static extern bool SpiceStart(string installPath); I call the method like so: bool success = SpiceStart(@"c:\sedatools"); The call to SpiceStart throws the exception "PInvokeStackImbalance", which "is likely because the managed PInvoke signature does not match the unmanaged target signature." Does anyone have any suggestions? If I remove the char* and string from the parameters, then the method runs just fine. However, I'd like to be able to pass the installation path of the application to the dll from C#. Thanks in advance, Giawa

    I have a Java based web service that requires basic authentication to communicate with it. If I type the WSDL url into my browser I'm prompted for Basic Auth. Which I can get by entering the correct credentials. However using my WCF client doesn't work. System.Net.WebException: The remote server returned an error: (401) Unauthorized. at System.Net.HttpWebRequest.GetResponse() at System.ServiceModel.Channels.HttpChannelFactory.HttpRequestChannel.HttpChannelRequest.WaitForReply(TimeSpan timeout) System.ServiceModel.Security.MessageSecurityException: The HTTP request is unauthorized with client authentication scheme 'Basic'. The authentication header received from the server was 'Basic realm="MYREALM"'. From what I can tell I'm doing things right. Where am I going wrong?

Q1 First, this text is on the page for WinHttpReadData, which is used to ... read data within an HTTP client application, specifically the response data. So what does it mean when it says Starting in Windows Vista and Windows Server 2008, WinHttp enables applications to perform chunked transfer encoding on data sent to the server. The WinHttpReadData function isn't used with data being sent to the server. It is used when reading data from the server. Consulting the doc for the WinHttpWriteData function, which is used to send data to the server as part of an HTTP request, there is no mention of the chunked transfer capability. Q2 Supposing that I figure out just what the newish chunked transfer support amounts to, how do I get that support? It says that it is new on Vista and WS2008. What happens if I write an app that runs on WS2003, and uses WinHttpReadData and it encounters a chunked response, or WinHttpWriteData, and it wants to send a chunked request? Between the lines, is this documentation saying that I need to link against the Vista-era Windows SDK, or later, in order to get the capability to do chunked encoding? Or is it really impossible on WS2003?, in other words it is the case that the app doing chunked transfer using this library must run on the OS specified? This might read like a rant, but it's not. I truly want to know.

  • How to catch an expected (and intended) 302 response code with generic XmlHttpRequest?

    So, if you look back at my previous question about Exchange Autodiscover, you'll see that the easiet way to get the autodiscover URL is to send a non-secure, non-authenticated GET request to the server, ala: http://autodiscover.exchangeserver.org/autodiscover/autodiscover.xml The server will respond with a 302 redirect with the correct url in the Location header. I'm trying out something really simple at first with a Chrome extension, where I have: if (req.readyState==4 && req.status==302) { return req.getResponseHeader("Location"); } With another ajax call set up with the full XML Post and the user credentials, But instead Chrome hangs at this point, and a look at the developer panel shows that it is not returning back the response but instead is acting like no response was given, meanwhile showing a Uncaught Error: NETWORK_ERR: XMLHttpRequest Exception 101 in the error log. The way I see it, refering to the exact response status is about the same as "catching" it, but I'm not sure if the problem is with Chrome/WebKit or if this is how XHR requests always handle redirects. I'm not sure how to catch this so that I can get still get the headers from the response. Or would it be possible to set up a secondary XHR such that when it gets the 302, it sends a totally different request? Quick Update I just changed it so that it doesn't check the response code: if (req.readyState==4) { return req.getResponseHeader("Location"); } and instead when I alert out the value it's null. and there is still the same error and no response in the dev console. SO it seems like it either doesn't track 302 responses as responses, or something happens after that wipes that response out?

    Hi guys, I'm feeling completely stupid because I've spent two hours solving task which should be very simple and which I solved many times before. But now I'm not even sure in which direction to dig. I fail to fetch static content using ajax from local servers (Apache and Mongrel). I get responses 200 and 206 (depending on the server), empty response text (although Content-Length header is always correct), firebug shows request in red. Javascript is very generic, I'm getting same results even here: http://www.w3schools.com/ajax/tryit.asp?filename=tryajax_first (just change document location to 'http://localhost:3000/whatever') So, it's probably not the cause. Well, now I'm out of ideas. I can also post http headers, if it'll help. Thanks!     If I have a raw HTTP response as a string: HTTP/1.1 200 OK Date: Tue, 11 May 2010 07:28:30 GMT Expires: -1 Cache-Control: private, max-age=0 Content-Type: text/html; charset=UTF-8 Server: gws X-XSS-Protection: 1; mode=block Connection: close <!doctype html><html>...</html> Is there an easy way I can parse it into an HttpListenerResponse object? Or at least some kind .NET object so I don't have to work with raw responses. What I'm doing currently is extracting the header key/value pairs and setting them on the HttpListenerResponse. But some headers can't be set, and then I have to cut out the body of the response and write it to the OutputStream. But the body could be gzipped, or it could be an image, which I can't get to work yet. And some responses contain random characters everywhere, which looks like an encoding problem. It's a lot of trouble. I'm getting a raw response because I'm using SOCKS to send an HTTP request. The program I'm working on is basically an HTTP proxy that can route requests through a SOCKS proxy, like Privoxy does.
