• Ajax Div Maintain Height

  Greetings, I have a list of user comments on a page, with a next button which makes an Ajax call to get the second set of comments. The problem is, the height of the comments div temporarily becomes very small while the loading bar is in place. This makes the user need to scroll back down to see the new comments The issue can be seen at the bottom of this page by clicking "Next" comments. Is there a way to force the div to maintain its height through Javascript? I do not want to hard code the div height in case a page has 3 or less comments.

  Hi, In our applications we make html documents as reports and exports. But now our customer wants a button that saves that document on their pc. The problem is that the document includes images.   Is there a mechanism, or any additional tools that I can make use of to bulk import 301 redirect rules into an IIS6.0 web application? I want to be able to 301 redirect some old .htm pages to their new home on a CMS to ensure the current search index entries resolve OK and don't 404, but there are roughly ~50 pages. The only way I've found to achieve this is to create dummy .htm files and then right click on the file-File tab-Redirect to a URL radio button within the IIS MMC snapin, which is a little laborious over the number of pages.   Hi, this is a very newbie question, sorry! I need to create an aspx website based con C# and am calling some webservices based on some DLL's I already have. Beforem purchasing Visual Studio, I decided to try Microsoft Visual Web Developer Express (is this ok?) creating a Web Application ASP.NET based on Visual C#. I created the form to enter the data which is submitted when clicking the process button. At this point I need to call stuff from the DLL, which I have added in the Solution Explorer via Add Reference, selecting the DLL from the COM list. But whenever I run the project, I always get the error "the type or namespace xxx cannot be found - maybe a using directive or assembler directive is missing" when trying to create the object. What is my stupid mistake? Thanks!

  I have a component done in JSF 1.x, this component has a command button as follows <h:commandButton ... action="#{templateController.next}" /> Where templateController was passed as an EL binding and can be any object that implements a certain interface. The generic implementation of next() was just executing code and then returning an empty string causing the same page to refresh: public String next() { ..... return ""; } Now I am trying to port that component to JSF 2, my problem is that an empty string doesn't cause the same page to refresh anymore, instead, the framework tries to redirect to a page called ".jsf" i.e it just appends .jsf to whatever the outcome is. My question is how to return an outcome that causes the current page to refresh. My component is generic and I don't know before hand the name of the page it is going to be used on. Thanks

  Scenario: I have a regular aspx page with a form. When someone clicks a button the form submitted via post like normal. HOWEVER. The page where the form resides is the default page(Default.aspx). So when someone goes to the site: http://site.com/ and submits the forms he gets redirected to http://site.com/default.aspx. I tried setting the action of the form to http://site.com/. However asp.net does not allow to use root urls with a POST. So is there any workaround? Ajax is not an option.

• Modifying listbox values with jQuery in WebForm not posting back

  When hitting a button, an error would occur: System.Web.HttpUnhandledException: Exception of type 'System.Web.HttpUnhandledException' was thrown. --- System.ArgumentException: Invalid postback or callback argument. Event validation is enabled using in configuration or in a page. For security purposes, this feature verifies that arguments to postback or callback events originate from the server control that originally rendered them. If the data is valid and expected, use the ClientScriptManager.RegisterForEventValidation method in order to register the postback or callback data for validation. I then added EnableEventValidation="false" into my @Page directive, which fixed the error. Now after manipulating the listbox, the new values in the listbox are not posted back to the server. How can I solve this?

  I have a modal dialog box presented in Yahoo UI. The user selects a value from dialog "A", and then I want to present another modal dialog box to collect some more data in dialog "B". I have been using the YAHOO.widget.Dialog successfully. The problem seems to be that you can't initiate dialog window "B" from the handler function of dialog "A". So, how can you programmatically launch a second dialog window after the user hits the "OK" button on the first ? (I had tried to create an additional Listener for a field that is updated in dialog "A" to trigger dialog "B" but this doesn't work either.) Thanks..

I mean I have one save button which will save all changes in any grid on any tab. I think DataTables will work fine here.   hi all. i'm writing a component that is to be used across multiple websites. each website has it's own stylesheets and displays certain things differently. all of my html is wrapped within a div with an id: <div id="myComponent">...</div> my component however is to look consistent across all of the sites. this is fine as i apply styling to most of the attributes in my component. div#myComponent p {font-size:11px;} etc however i've come across a site that removes the border from all input fields input {border: medium none;} i need to 'un-apply' this directive for the input fields within my component, and preferrably use the browser's default styling for inputs, as the border style for input type="text" will need be different to input type="button". how would you achieve this?

• Monodevelop: `Waiting for debugger to connect...`

  I am trying to debug this Mono desktop software in Monodevelop. I imported the SLN file, ran Build all with success, but when I press the Debug button I get this popup that stays waiting forever saying Waiting for debugger to connect...: The output says: User assembly '/home/nico/src/SparkleShare/SparkleShare/bin/SparkleShare.exe' is missing. Debugger will now debug all code, not just user code. Am I doing something wrong? Monodevelop 2.8.6.3 on Ubuntu 2012.04. Nothing special appears on the console with monodevelop -v -v -v. When I press Run instead of Debug, the app crashes immediately saying The application exited with code: 255, but I need Debug to find where the problem is. Note: It is not the same problem as this question, which is about MonoTouch waiting for a phone simulator... the suggestions over there are about the simulator or updating XCode... no simulator nor XCode here.

• Record AVAudioPlayer output using AVAudioRecorder

  In my app the user plays a sound by pressing a button. There are several buttons which can be played simultaneously. The sounds are played using AVAudioPlayer instances. I want to record the output of these instances using AVAudioRecorder. I have set it all up and a file is created and records but when I play it back it does not play any sound. It is just a silent file the length of the recording. Does anyone know if there is a setting I am missing with AVAudioPlayer or AVAudioRecorder? Thanks

• How can I scrape the current webpage with php/javascript?

  I have made the following webpage for generating interactive todo lists: http://robert-kent.com/todo/todo.php Basically, the user pastes a numbered todo list and each task is placed into it's own div with a unique id. Users can add notes to the tasks (done with javascript) and can click the green check when the task is done to hide it. I'd like to add an Export button which would generate a report of which tasks were completed and which were not, along with the user-entered notes. After a bit of searching I understand that what I want to do is scrape the page, but I haven't the faintest idea of the best way to do it. Many of the articles and tutorials I have found with Google involve scraping other sites and don't really explain how I could iterate over each div on the page.
