• Is it possible to run my other partition inside of a VM?

  So I have dual boot machine with windows 7 and ubuntu 11. I would like to, at times, run a vm from one partition to another. For example sometimes I would like to do certain things in windows while still using ubuntu. At other times, perhaps the opposite would be more effective. Why? Well running a vm is fairly resource intensive, and depending on what I am doing primarily I would rather be in one operating system vs the other, or perhaps it is just convenient. An important consideration is that you should NOT need to "copy" or "duplicate" the partition in any way. The VM should just read the partition as if it were a standard image. Any ideas? I am using virtual box currently. I have also used virtual pc. I could probably get a copy of vmware workstation if needed.

• dojo.parser.parse only working first time it's called.

  I have a page that when a user clicks on a link for some reporting tools, it first asks them to enter some report parameters. I get the parameters dialog as a form using AJAX, based on the id of the link. Each dialog has some dojo controls on it, so I need to parse them when the dialog appears, because it is not originally part of the page. The first dialog when called works fine, but subsequent calls to dialogs fails to parse the dojo controls. • Acessing a wordpress database from an iPhone App.

  Hi guys, I've been asked to create an app that will get data back from a database where the CMS will be Wordpress. I've never used a CMS so I'm trying to get a (overview)picture in my head of how it could all work and what each of the components would be. And what a CMS actually brings to the party. Creating the app itself is pretty clear. I've done a few already. I've made a database before and shouldnt cause a problem. But what is going to be in the middle between the app and the database? Part A: I'm guessing iphone apps typically would call some php file that's hosted on the server? The php then would make a call to the database and return the data somehow, maybe as xml. But this is really basic and wouldnt require a CMS. Just a database and a phpfile, or am I wrong? Part B: If i wanted to run a check on the database every minute to see if any of the data in database was no longer valid and remove it if needed, that would require somekind of program running on the server. So that program would be Wordpress, since it is managing the content, so a content management system is actually needed and is for these kind of taskes. Am i understanding the role of CMS? • How can I bind multiple Jquery UI Slider with "year" Select?

  Hi, I'm trying to render sliders instead of select components. Each page has several select components marked with class='jqselect' and all of them will have decreasing year values (some years may be missing). Eg. a select may have values [2010, 2009, 2006, 2005, 2004]. I have tried binding it both following the examples in the jQuery UI doc (but ignoring the missing years) and using selectToUISlider by filamentgroup (http://www.filamentgroup.com/lab/update_jquery_ui_slider_from_a_select_element_now_with_aria_support//). None of them work. Here is what I've done so far: Binding selects with following slider container divs: $('#content div.jqslider').slider({ animate: true, min: $(this).prev().children().last().val(), max: $(this).prev().children().first().val(), slide: function(event, ui) { var select = $(this).prev(); select.val($(this).slider('option', 'value')); console.log($(this).slider('option', 'value')); //debug } }); This renders the slider, but console logs values from 0 to 100 and selects obviously does not change with the event. Using selectToUISlider: $('#content select.jqselect').selectToUISlider(); This does not even render the slider, throwing an error 'b is undefined' in jquery-min.js (line 30, v1.4.2). • PHP mail function, some clients aren't showing my mails as html?

  I'm trying to send emails to my website members using the mail() function with PHP, The mails are in hebrew, and I want to send an html email, That's pretty much how I send it $mail_to = "[email protected]"; $message = " <html> some content here </html> "; $headers = "MIME-Version: 1.0" . "\r\n"; $mail = mail($mail_to, $subject, $message, $headers ); It works completely fine with clients such as Gmail, or thunderbird users, but I viewed it in a few other clients, that aren't so famous, but still widely used in my country, and it just shows me the html source.. I'll also add that I've seen other mails in those clients that are working fine, so they are supporting html mails. What am I doing wrong?

  UPDATE 1: Judging by this thread I am not the only one having this problem in FF 12 and only in 12. UPDATE 2: The problem does not seem to be limited to Ajax requests. From the looks of it everything that makes it into Firefox 12's cache will be fetched from there. No matter what. The server can specify cache control headers all day long. Bummer! What I'm trying to achieve is the following behavior: Browser may cache the response without revalidating for up to 5 minutes I don't care if the browser revalidates on every request (Both Chrome and IE9 do for example) When the expiration is up the browser MUST revalidate (which in my case will result in fresh data) Chrome and IE9 exhibit the desired behavior when issuing a jquery.ajax() request with ifModified: true and cache: true while Firefox 12 never revalidates, which poses a serious problem.   I have a background Android Service that's purpose is to communicate with another device (non-phone) using a Bluetooth socket. Everything works fine except that the service gets stopped and restarted by the OS when the phone display is sleeping. This restart sometimes leaves a 15-20 minute gaps where there is no communication between the Service and the Bluetooth device and I need to be able to query the device every minute.   Possible Duplicate: My server's been hacked EMERGENCY First time posting so bear with me please! My friend's site has been hacked and the .htaccess file (which I really know nothing about) has been injected with a malicious redirect that forces search engines to the see the site as a "harmful website." If you look at the .htaccess file you can see it's Russian or at least ends in .ru. Seeing as I know very little about this stuff, I simply tried to restore the good .htaccess file back with his host. This doesn't work as the virus just recreates the infected .htaccess file. When I searched through the rest of his directories, I can see the same bad .htaccess file in most of the folders. I can't seem to help him get rid of this virus.

  I want to simply backup and archive the files on several machines. Unfortunately, the files have some large files that are the same file but stored differently on different machines. For instance, there may a few hundred photos that were copied from one computer to the other as an ad-hoc backup. Now that I want to make a common repository of files, I don't want several copies of the same photo. If I copy all of these files to a single directory, is there a tool that can go thru and recognize duplicate files and give me a list or even delete one of the duplicates?

• How can I restore GRUB without a live CD?

  I realize that this is a duplicate of a question asked before, but in that question the asker managed to find his live CD and no real answer appeared, thus I am re-asking it. I managed to screw up my GRUB by deleting two linux partitions on my hard drive from windows. After this, GRUB gives the error "partition not found", and gives me the grub-rescue prompt. The only command I have found to work in this is 'ls', which spits out my partitions. I would use the live CD fix, but I am in India, and all my live CDs are back home in the US... What I've got is an internet connection, a 4GB flash drive with Flow OS installed (which I am currently using but can wipe if need be), and a working laptop that I can borrow. What should I do?

  I have a site that is using custom fields, and I want to either show the content for the field if the field is being used, and if the field is not being used per a Post then of course don't show the contents of the fields.   Possible Duplicate: Multiple delete in Microsoft Outlook Web Access How do you delete all messages in a folder in Outlook, preferrably through Web Access? I left my Outlook account unattended for several days (on vacation) and when I got back I found several folders with over 5k emails, mostly error logging or spam. When I try to open the Outlook client, it just locks up, presumably unable to download that many emails. I can view at most 100 emails at a time, but I can't select all emails to delete or permanently delete them immediately, so manually deleting this many emails is going to take a while. Gmail has a similar feature to select and delete all emails in a folder, and that's free so I figure being a quality non-free product from Microsoft, Outlook should have a similar feature (yes that's sarcasm). I've Googled, but I'm not finding anything. Is this possible?

I have a set of date ranges in Excel, each of which has some kind of label. e.g. LabelA 01/01/10 31/01/10 LabelB 01/02/10 28/02/10 LabelC 01/03/10 31/03/10 If I have another date, I would like to look up the label relating to the date range within which this date falls. e.g. For 15/02/10 I would like to return LabelB. I know that the date ranges will not overlap, although there could be a gap between the end date of one, and the start date of the next.

  Possible Duplicate: How to copy and move mysql database Dump all databases with SSH access I'm setting up a new dev machine, and I have the old one sitting right next to me. I'd like to do an exact copy of all MySQL structures and data from the old machine to the new. Nothing fancy needs to happen (it's a dev machine). No replication. I don't care about "downtimes" etc. Is there a super simple way to do this? For example, I have SSH on the old server, can I just use Nautilus, do a connect to server, and then transfer a folder over, replacing another folder with it and be done? It's the same version of MySQL on both sides. Same version of Ubuntu. Same in most respects.

• calling plugin inside ajax call function problem

  I pull categories of one section from an XML. Problem is, pulled categories need to recognize tab plugin so I tried to add tab plugin to CategoryName variable. But it is not working. I get the following error.
