• Suggest product catalog script/framework in PHP which doesn't displays product price

  Hey all, I am new to web development and have this project in hand where in I have to build a product catalogue. I don't want any cart functionality or other such features, I just want to display the products,their specifications and images etc. on the website and give my client an admin panel to manage products. Now I looked into various PHP shopping cart scripts but couldn't find a way to remove price info from the display. I am not experienced enough in web development to make a product catalogue from scratch so if you guys could point me out in right direction I would be very grateful. If you could give me link to some shopping cart or cataloguing script or any other way to accomplish the task it would help me out a lot.. Thanks in advance to all those who reply.

  Hello Magento boffins. I am using Magento to build an eBooks site. For the release, we plan to have a number of free downloadable books. We were hoping that it would be possible to use the normal Magento 'catalog' functionality to add categories with products underneath. However, since these are free downloadable products, it doesn't really make sense to send users through the checkout when they try to download. Does anyone know of a way to create a free downloadable product which bypasses the checkout altogether? I have noticed that there is a 'free sample' option for downloadable products, but I would prefer not to use this if I can as I plan to use this field for its intended purpose when I add paid products.

  I would like to upgrade my FluentNHibernate to version 1.1, but I found out it uses Castle.Core 1.1. I use Castle.Windsor 1.2 in my app which works with Castle.Core 1.2. I now need to find a version of Castle.Windsor that uses this earlier version of Castle.Core, but I can't find it anywhere. What do you recommend I should do? Wait for a version of FluentNHibernate that uses the latest Castle.Core? OR build FluentNHibernate 1.1 from source using the latest Castle.Core? OR downgrade my Castle.Windsor version?

  I am trying to implement a linux shell that supports piping. I have already done simple commands, commands running in background, redirections, but piping is still missing. I have already read about it and seen some snippets of code, but still haven't been able to sort out a working solution. So, before being able to implement three and more different commands in pipeline, I would like to be able to compute "ls names.txt | sort" or something similiar, in which names.txt is a file of names alfabetically unordered.   I have an EXE project A, which references a class library project B (all in the same solution). Project B has a reference to about 10 3rd party DLLs (from DevExpress). All the referenced assemblies have Copy Local set to true. When I build the entire solution, the resulting DLL from project B is copied into the bin/debug of project A. However, none of the dependencies of project B get copied. I looked in the Output window during compile and all looks good. There aren't any errors. How do I troubleshoot this?

  Where can I find some good pointers on best practices for running ASP.NET MVC on IIS6? I haven't seen any realistic options for web-hosts who provide IIS7-hosting yet. Mostly because I don't live in the U.S. So I was wondering on how you best build applications in ASP.NET MVC and make it easily available to deploy on both IIS6 and IIS7. Keep in mind that this is for standard web-hosts, so there is no access to ISAPI-filters or special settings inside IIS6. Are there anything else one should think about when developing ASP.NET MVC-applications to target IIS6? Any functions that doesn't work? UPDATE: One of the bigger issues is the thing with routes. The pattern {controller}/{action} will work on IIS7, but not IIS6 which needs {controller}.mvc/{action}. So how do I make this transparent? Again, no ISAPI and no IIS-settings, please.

  A friend build a ranking system on his site and I am trying to host in on mine via wordpress and godaddy. It updates for him but when I load it to my site, it works for 6 hours, but as soon as the reload is supposed to occur, it errors and I get a 500 timeout error.   Hello, i have an application where is use Qt 4.6 and Microsoft SDKs (the Psapi.Lib). I use cmake or qmake to build. For qmake and cmake i specify in hard the path of the Psapi.lib. qmake : win32 { LIBS += "C:\Program Files\Microsoft SDKs\Windows\v7.0A\Lib\Psapi.Lib" } cmake : SET(PSAPI "C:/Program Files/Microsoft SDKs/Windows/v7.0A/Lib/Psapi.Lib") But i want to avoid the hard path, is there is any way to search the SDK lib ? • Why can't I set the Image Source in WPF app?

  I'm just learning WPF. I'm using VS 2008. I've added an Image control to my XAML, and I added a GIF file to the project. If I use the XAML Designer's property panel to set the image's Source property, the drop-down list for the Source property contains the following: C:\Sample Project;component/pinHorizontal.gif There are several problems with this: My project, named "Sample Project," is not in the root of my drive. Why is ";component" in there? If I select this value as given, I get the error "Property value is not valid" (yeah, no kidding). If I go into the XAML source and set the Source property manually, like so: The XAML Designer gives me this error: "The file pinHorizontal.gif is not part of the project or its 'Build Action' property is not set to 'Resource'." Why is this task so difficult? How do I assign an image source?

I have a simple script that looks like this call "c:\Program Files\Microsoft Visual Studio 9.0\VC\bin\vcvars32.bat" msbuild %CD%\V1\Incentive.sln /target:Rebuild /property:Configuration=DEBUG;WarningLevel=2 msbuild %CD%\UI\IncentiveUI.sln /target:Rebuild /property:Configuration=DEBUG;WarningLevel=2 pause However when I run this I get a failure, with some complaints about classes that are in a project with linked files: http://pastebin.com/JRE3tWfh This solution compiles fine in VS2008 so I can't figure out what the problem is. I have to guess something is wrong with the way I am using msbuild here.

  I am very new to D and still battling trying to configure my toolchain. I am running Ubuntu Karmic and would like to use DSSS with GDC and Tango or TangoBos. Till now, I installed GDC from Ubuntu repositories, DSSS, Tango and TangoBos from these repositories and I can compile using dsss + gdc + tangobos. According to DSSS documentation, it should be possible to run the unit tests using $ dsss build --test but on my system, the --test argument is ignored. I have dsss last version (0.78) and its inline help does not include anything about unit tests. Running ldc --unittest works fine (though I do not know exactly which libray it picks up). Is there a way to run my unit tests using the same compiler & library than for compilation? If so, is there a way to automate the testing or will I have to run it module per module?

  This might sound like a really stupid question, but is there anyway to run an Adobe AIR application in a headless server side mode on a non-UI server (i.e. Linux)? I'm trying to build server side bots to interact with an API (grapevinetalk.com) and I want to use existing code to do that without having to re-write all the data munging etc for a new application. The application I'm trying to port is essentially a jQuery based AIR desktop app that I want to reuse for server side interactions.   I am using DocumentBuilder (of openXML api), to those who doesn't know the documentBuilder I'll give a short explanation: it has a function 'BuildDocument' which gets list of sources (each source contains wmldocument), and string of fileName to save to. public static void BuildDocument(List<Source> sources, string fileName) the purpose of this function is to build one word docx which contains all the sources. it merges some docs to one. at the end of its functionality it saves the doc using: File.WriteAllBytes(...) but when I run my project on the server I keep getting the error: "The process cannot access the file because it is being used by another process." few times it works ok. and in the visualStudio it also works without errors. what can be the problem?

• Save a binary file in SQL Server as BLOB and text (or get the text from Full-Text index)

  Currently we are saving files (PDF, DOC) into the database as BLOB fields. I would like to be able to retrieve the raw text of the file to be able to manipulate it for hit-highlighting and other functions. Does anyone know of a simple way to either parse out the files and save the raw text on save, either via SQL or .net code. I have found that Adobe has a filtdump utility that will convert the PDF to text. Filtdump seems to be a command line tool, and i don't see a way to use a file stream. And what would the extractor be for Office documents and other file types? -or- Is there a way to pull out the raw text from the Full text index? Note i am trying to build a .net & MSSql solution without having to use a third party tool such as Lucene

  I have a Unit test project for my Application using DUnit framework. This project have a unit surrounded by a $IFDEF to output test-results in a xml file instead of the gui or just command line. XML_OUTPUT define is enabled by switching the Build configuration. program DelphiCodeToDoc_Tests; uses TestFramework, TextTestRunner, Sysutils, Forms, GUITestRunner, {$IFDEF XML_OUTPUT} XmlTestRunner2 in 'DUnit_addon\XmlTestRunner2.pas', {$ENDIF} DCTDSetupTests in 'IntegrationTests\DCTDSetupTests.pas', ... This works perfectly. The issue starts when I'm adding a new unit to this project from the IDE (a new unit with 'FileNewUnit'). The Test project is now : uses TestFramework, TextTestRunner, Sysutils, Forms, GUITestRunner, DCTDSetupTests in 'IntegrationTests\DCTDSetupTests.pas', ... MyNewUnit in 'IntegrationTests\MyNewUnit.pas'; As you see, the test XML_OUTPUT has disappeared ... Each time I'm adding a unit, Delphi IDE deletes this test. Do you know why and how I can avoid it ?

• Best approach for building a multiplattform graphical interface for a command-line application

  Hi, I developed a command line application, whose binary runs in Linux, Windows and Mac OSX. It reads some text input files, but I realize that some special users can not handle this. I would then like to build some kind of graphical interface, where the user only finds buttons and scroll bars for selecting the input parameters, a big "run" button, and then it reads the output of the program and makes some figures. I also need that everything gets finally packed in a single file, which uses only static libraries, so the user just needs to copy the file to his/her machine and run it. I would like to know what is the best open source and multi-platform approach to do this. 10 years ago I played a bit with something similar on DEC machines, so I guess that nowadays the situation has probably improved a bit. P.S. For designing the graphical interface, I am looking for a graphical approach, where you add buttons, scroll bars with the mouse P.S. 2: the interface is really simple, just need less than 10 buttons, 5 text fields and 2 scrolla bars Thanks

This is my first time here so I hope I post this question at the right place. :) I need to build flood control for my script but I'm not good at all this datetime to time conversions with UTC and stuff. I hope you can help me out. I'm using the Google App Engine with Python. I've got a datetimeproperty at the DataStore database which should be checked if it's older than 20 seconds, then proceed.   Hello, I need to create a Dialog / Prompt including TextBox for user input. My problem is, how to get the text after having confirmed the dialog? Usually I would make a class for this which would save the text in a property. However I want do design the Dialog using XAML. So I would somehow have to extent the XAML Code to save the content of the TextBox in a property - but I guess that's not possible with pure XAML. What would be the best way to realize what I'd like to do? How to build a dialog which can be defined from XAML but can still somehow return the input? Thanks for any hint!

• ASP.net Error in Design Mode

  I just switched to VS 2010, and upgraded a previous project. I'm getting the following error on a page in design mode for 2 controls: Error Creating Control - ObjectName Object reference not set to an instance of an object. One of them is a simple label, and the other is a ajax update panel. Other pages look fine. When I build and test the app, the page renders fine in the browser and functions fine - the label functions as expected and the content in the update panel works as expected. Any ideas why I'm getting this error? I tried some of the google results to no avail. It'd be great to get this out of the way. Thanks!
