  • cant scroll the scrolview?

    - by Abhi_Iphone_Blackberry
    I have a problem with my UIScrollView. It's visible but I can't scroll it. CGRect frame = CGRectMake(20, 90,280,1000); scroll1=[[UIScrollView alloc]initWithFrame:frame]; scroll1.contentSize = CGSizeMake(280,1000); scroll1.backgroundColor=[UIColor grayColor]; //scroll1.delegate=scroll1; [scroll1 setUserInteractionEnabled:TRUE]; [scroll1 setPagingEnabled:TRUE]; [scroll1 setScrollEnabled:TRUE]; [scroll1 showsVerticalScrollIndicator]; Thanks in advance.

  • Changing background color on UIScrollView?

    - by Andreas Johannessen
Hi How do I change the black/gray color to white? This is just a simple view with a UIView attached to the UIViewControllers property together a with a webview that fills the UIView. UPDATE Here's the code that works: - (void)loadView { UIWebView *webview = [[UIWebView alloc] initWithFrame:CGRectMake(0.0f, 0.0f, 320.0f, 416.0f)]; [webView setBackgroundColor:[UIColor whiteColor]]; self.view = webView; [webview release]; } Thanks in advance.

  • Fetch Data using predicate. Retrieve single value.

    - by Mr. McPepperNuts
XYZAppDelegate *appDelegate = [[UIApplication sharedApplication] delegate]; NSManagedObjectContext *managedObjectContext = appDelegate.managedObjectContext; NSFetchRequest *request = [[NSFetchRequest alloc] init]; NSPredicate *predicate = [NSPredicate predicateWithFormat:@"name == %@", entryToSearchFor]; NSEntityDescription *entity = [NSEntityDescription entityForName:@"Entry" inManagedObjectContext:managedObjectContext]; NSSortDescriptor *sortDescriptor = [[NSSortDescriptor alloc] initWithKey:@"name" ascending:NO]; NSArray *sortDescriptors = [[NSArray alloc] initWithObjects:sortDescriptor, nil]; [request setSortDescriptors:sortDescriptors]; [request setEntity: entity]; [request setPredicate: predicate]; NSArray *results = [managedObjectContext executeFetchRequest:request error:nil]; if (results == nil) { NSLog(@"No results found"); }else { NSLog(@"entryToSearchFor %@", entryToSearchFor); NSLog(@"results %@", [results objectAtIndex:0]); } I want to retrieve a single value (String) from "Entry." I believe I must be missing. Can someone point it out? Btw, the NSLog results outputs the following: results <NSManagedObject: 0x3d2d360> (entity: Entry; id: 0x3d13650 <x-coredata://6EA12ADA-8C0B-477F-801C-B44FE6E6C91C/Entry/p3> ; data: <fault>)

  • Fade animation UITableViewCell

    - by Tomas
Hi everyone, I have a UITableViewController that populates a UITableView with some data that I pull off the net. The data for each cell consists also of an image used as background, which I'm downloading in a separated NSOperation added to a NSOperationQueue with a MaxConcurrentOperationCount set to 4. As long as the image is not downloaded I'm showing a generic placeholder which I would like to replace (fading out/fading in) with the downloaded image once it's being successfully downloaded. I'm using the following code placed inside the cellForRowAtIndexPath of the UITableViewController. [UIView beginAnimations:@"fade" context:nil]; [UIView setAnimationBeginsFromCurrentState:YES]; [UIView setAnimationDuration:3.0]; [UIView setAnimationCurve:UIViewAnimationCurveEaseInOut]; cell.placeholderUIImage.alpha = 0.0; cell.backgroundUIImage.alpha = 1.0; [UIView commitAnimations]; This is unfortunately just working randomly for a couple of rows, since for the most the background image is set instantly, as if the animation started on one cell would have been "overwritten" by the next call of beginAnimations.

  • Loop a UIScrollviw with ViewControllers

    - by Jim
Hi I'm trying to create a UIScrollView with loop that contains a collection of ViewControllers. The answer to this question here shows the code that is the basis for what I'm trying to do. It uses images instead of viewControllers. I've managed to get the all the viewControllers loaded (4) and displaying but the first view which is a duplicate of the last viewController is blank. I've tried creating a copy of this viewController and adding it to the array but this messes up the transition / count. Any suggestions?

  • Building XCode From Command Line Issues (Updating Entitlements file location)

    - by michaellindahl
The first error is a warning for complier 'com.apple.compilers.gcc.4_0' I don't know if this is okay and I can just not worry about it. The second tells me that my entitlements file is no longer at that location. I know this and I thought I had correctly updated it in Xcode's info window. This project builds fine in Xcode. Michael-Lindahls-Mac:~ michaellindahl$ xcodebuild -project /Users/michaellindahl/Dropbox/Xcode/App/app.xcodeproj -alltargets 2011-01-03 11:41:51.591 xcodebuild[15162:60f] warning: compiler 'com.apple.compilers.gcc.4_0' is based on missing compiler 'com.apple.compilers.gcc.4_0' === BUILD NATIVE TARGET app OF PROJECT app WITH THE DEFAULT CONFIGURATION (Release) === Check dependencies [BEROR]CodeSign error: The entitlements file '/Users/michaellindahl/Dropbox/Xcode/deletedAppFile/Entitlements.plist' is missing ** BUILD FAILED **

  • How to fix the header and first row in a UITableView

    - by Arturo Guzman
I´m new trying to make some apps using objective c, so I´ve an idea using uitableview but I don't imagine how can I get this. I´m trying to do something like you do in a spreadsheet where you have a fixed header and the first column too So when scroll the uitableview vertically the header will stay visible at top of the table and rows will change And finally when you scroll in horizontal direction the first cell of the row will stay visible and will change the header depending of how you scroll the uitableview I hope you could give me an idea how to get this, because I don't imagine how to do this, also I don´t have a lot of experience with this programming language. Thanks!

  • Cocos2d: is it good practice to use a shared GameScene when having various levels?

    - by mm24
In my code (based on the ShootEmUp example in this book, which I highly reccomend, source code in chapter 8 available here) I often use the trick of accessing the GameScene via: +(GameScene*) sharedGameScene; which returns a reference to the static instance of GameScene. Is a static instance of GameScene as in the book still a valid pattern in case I want a MainMenu calling GameScene initialized with different level data each time (e.g. different enemies)? (I have created a sceneWithId:(int) method where I load different level data each time. Or should I pheraps create a GameScene class and then sublcass it? E.g. FirstGameScene : GameScene

  • Clickable links in UILabel?

    - by lope
Hi there, I have been searching for this for hours but I failed. I probably don't even know what should I be looking for. Many applications have text and in this text are web hyperlinks in rounded rect, when I click them UIWebView opens. What puzzles me is that they often have custom links, for example if words starts with # it is also clickable and aplication responds by opening another view. How can I do that? Is it possible with UILabel or do I need UITextView or something else? I really hope it is standard functionality and i don't need to subclass anything :/

  • How can the subView detect that the mainView is rotating?

    - by wolverine
I have a mainView. To this view, I am adding a view of the same size. When the mainView(the background) rotates, its being detected but the subview doesnt have any idea about being rotated. And its functions are not even being called. Even when the program launches too, if I am in landscape mode, its the same way. How can I make the subView know that the device is being rotated?

  • Compare two Xcode build settings

    - by John Smith
I have a project where I use two build settings predominantly. Unfortunately today something went wrong. One compiles and the other doesn't. How can I compare the two build settings in XCode to see what the differences are? (For those interested, the error I get in one build is jump to case label crosses initialization of 'const char* selectorName' if you know what this means I'll be very grateful )

  • Rotating and Moving a UIImageView (CocoaTouch)

    - by yar
This code works to rotate: CGAffineTransform transform = CGAffineTransformMakeRotation(radians(lastAngle++)); anImage.transform = transform; and this code works to move my UIImageView CGRect frame = [anImage frame]; frame.origin.x+=1; frame.origin.y+=1; [anImage setFrame:frame]; but when I combine them, the image stretches out increasingly on each run through. Perhaps the frame should not be modified like this?

  • UIImageView Fade-In Dissapears

    - by Winder
    I have this code which should create a splash image with either no animation or a fade in, then call code to dismiss the image out after a delay. The SplashViewAnimationNone works fine and creates the full screen image, but the Fade code fades the image in but then immediately disappears. - (void)startSplash { [[[[UIApplication sharedApplication] windows] objectAtIndex:0] addSubview:self]; splashImage = [[UIImageView alloc] initWithImage:self.image]; if (self.animationIn == SplashViewAnimationNone) { [self addSubview:splashImage]; } else if (self.animationIn == SplashViewAnimationFade) { [self addSubview:splashImage]; CABasicAnimation *animSplash = [CABasicAnimation animationWithKeyPath:@"opacity"]; animSplash.duration = self.animationDelay; animSplash.removedOnCompletion = NO; animSplash.fillMode = kCAFillModeForwards; animSplash.fromValue = [NSNumber numberWithFloat:0.0]; animSplash.toValue = [NSNumber numberWithFloat:1.0]; animSplash.delegate = self; [self.layer addAnimation:animSplash forKey:@"animateOpacity"]; } // Dismiss after delay. [self performSelector:@selector(dismissSplash) withObject:self afterDelay:self.delay]; }

  • How to mask an view with an black-white image?

    - by mystify
I've heard that it's possible to mask views with black/white images, where black means fully transparent and white means view is visible. The big difference to clipsToBounds is that the view could be clipped in funny shapes like circles or stars. How could I do that?

  • libXcodeDebuggerSupport.dylib is missing in iOS 4.2.1 development SDK

    - by Kalle
Note: creating a symbolic link to use the 4.2 lib seems to work fine -- maybe cd /Developer/Platforms/iPhoneOS.platform/DeviceSupport/4.2.1\ \(8C148\)/Symbols/ sudo ln -s ../../4.2 (8C134)/Symbols/Developer Request: See end of this question! After upgrading from 4.2.0 (beta, I believe) to 4.2.1, the libXcodeDebuggerSupport.dylib file is missing, which results in: warning: Unable to read symbols for /Developer/Platforms/iPhoneOS.platform/DeviceSupport/4.2.1 (8C148)/Symbols/Developer/usr/lib/libXcodeDebuggerSupport.dylib (file not found). which I guess isn't good. Looking at the directory in question I note: .../DeviceSupport/4.2 (8C134)/Symbols/Developer/usr/lib/libXcodeDebuggerSupport.dylib but .../DeviceSupport/4.2.1 (8C148)/Symbols/System/ .../DeviceSupport/4.2.1 (8C148)/Symbols/usr/ the above two dirs make up all the content in the 4.2.1 folder. No "Developer" folder. Checking the /usr/ dir there, I find no libXcodeDebuggerSupport.dylib file in the lib dir either, so ln -s'ing isn't an option. Worth mentioning: after the upgrade, I plugged the iPad in and had to click "Use for development" in Xcode organizer. Doing so, I got a message about symbols missing for that version, and Xcode proceeded to generate such, then failed. I restored the iPad and did "Use for development" again, and nothing about missing symbols appeared... Update: deletion of /Developer and reinstallation of Xcode from scratch does not fix this issue. Update 2: I just realized that after the reinstall of Xcode, .../DeviceSupport/4.2 (8C134)/Symbols is now a symbolic link, lrwxr-xr-x 1 root admin 36 Dec 3 17:17 Symbols -> ../../Developer/SDKs/iPhoneOS4.2.sdk And the directory in question has the appropriate files. Maybe this is simply a matter of linking the 4.2.1 dir in the same fashion? I'll try that and see if Xcode freaks out. If someone who has this file could provide a md5 sum that would be splendid. This is what it says for me: $ md5 /Developer/Platforms/iPhoneOS.platform/DeviceSupport/4.2\ \(8C134\)/Symbols/Developer/usr/lib/libXcodeDebuggerSupport.dylib MD5 (/Developer/Platforms/iPhoneOS.platform/DeviceSupport/4.2 (8C134)/Symbols/Developer/usr/lib/libXcodeDebuggerSupport.dylib) = 08f93a0a2e3b03feaae732691f112688 If the MD5 sum is identical to the output of $ md5 /Developer/Platforms/iPhoneOS.platform/DeviceSupport/4.2.1\ \(8C148\)/Symbols/Developer/usr/lib/libXcodeDebuggerSupport.dylib then we're all set.

  • Converting a navbar to a tabbar app

    - by Nick
Hey guys, I was wondering how to convert a NavigationController style app into a TabBarcontroller style app. I changed my mainwindow to not contain a navigationcontroller anymore (but a tabbarcontroller instead) and my delegate also appropiatly, but when I launch the app something still thinks I want a navigationController: Terminating app due to uncaught exception 'NSUnknownKeyException', reason: '[ setValue:forUndefinedKey:]: this class is not key value coding-compliant for the key navigationController.'
