  • PHP, MySQL: Display only required parts of my website in sister website

    Hi all, Now I have my website built on PHP & Mysql. Consider this like a forum. Now when a user posts a reply in my website 1 (ex. www.website1.com), I want to be able to show the starting thread and it's related replies in a sister website of mine. I want to do this in a way that it does not show the rest of the page & other page contents (like logo etc.). I don't think iframe would be a solution because an iframe would embed the whole page and the users visiting my sister website (totally different domain i.e. www.website2.com) would be able to see all the page contents, like logo etc. I want to avoid that. I want to make them see only limited information from website 1 and only the info. that I intend. I hope that makes sense. In a way, you could say that I am trying to replicate my 1 website, and show only a limited part of it. Users browsing 2nd website can post a reply in the 2nd website and it should automatically be posted & visible to the visitors of the website 1. Users of website 1 should not know that a user of website 2 has posted it. They would feel that some user from website 1 has posted it. Do I have to use 2 separate mysql DB or just 1? I think it would be problematic if I am trying to use different DB. I also feel I might have to face DB connectivity issues as I can connect to only 1 DB at a time. It's basically like users of website1.com should feel that they are replying to users of website1.com & users of website2.com should feel that they are replying to users of website2.com. (I need it this way to bridge the gap between them). At the same time I want to make the front end of the websites different so that they don't feel that they are replying to some other users outside the domain. These websites would be under my control and I will have access to the source code at any time. If I need to change the source code, these changes are welcome. Is this really possible?   • Problems when loop over a series of ssh-ed commands

    I have a series of server machines which I want to run the same command on. Each command takes hours and (even though I am running the commands using nohup and setting them to run in the background) I have to wait for each to finish before the next starts. Here is roughly how I have set it up: On the host machines: for i in {1..9}; do ssh RemoteMachine${i} ./RunJobs.sh; done Where RunJobs.sh on each remote machine is: source ~/.bash_profile cd AriadneMatching for file in FileDirectory/Input_*; do nohup ./Executable ${file} & done exit Does anyone know of a way such that I dont have to wait for each job to finish before the next starts? Or alternatively a better way of doing this, I have a feeling what I am do is fairly sub-optimal. Cheers, Jack

    I want to redirect a praticular subdomain to the main domain http(s)://dl.example.com/par1/par2 to http(s)://www.example.com/par1/par2 How to achieve the above using .htaccess Why i want to do this: Whenever any user download a file from my server, if the file is huge , then user cannot do any other operation until the file is downloaded completely...so the solution that i have thought is to forward the download request through subdomain so that the browser may continue with rest of the operation.   • What types of objects should the ViewModel reference in the MVVM pattern?

    I've seen quite a few examples of MVVM. I can see that the View should reference the ViewModel. I've seen recently an example of a ViewModel referencing a View, which seems wrong to me, as it would result in tighter coupling. Given that ViewModel is often described as an intermediary between the View and the Model, is there more to the ViewModel than a facade to domain objects? I hope I used the term "facade" correctly here.

I don't want to simply redirect any requests for the blah.com domain to blah.com/new I want to make sure the subpath is still attached to the redirect

    I need to generate custom SIDs for users in my web application for use with Microsoft AzMan. What is the best way to do this? What do I need to know before doing this?   • How to launch from Eclipse in Low priority under Windows?

    I'm running programs from Eclipse (on Windows) that eat a lot of CPU time. To avoid bogging down my whole machine, I set the priority to Low with the Task Manager. However, this is a cumbersome manual process. Is there a way Eclipse can set this priority automatically? EDIT: I realized that each particular launcher (Java, Python etc) has its own configuration method, so I will restrict this question to the Java domain, which is what I need most.

    I have a folder named "C:\Jobs\job#1" , "C:\Jobs\job#2" "C:\Jobs\job#3" etc and a lot of directories and sub-directories under it. I want to get the all the directories under Jobs and xcopy them to C:\backup. Then I want to xcopy all the files under each Job#1, 2 ,3 etc. to C:\backup\job#1\month\\*.* To make it clearer. Source dir = C:\Jobs\job#1\"myfiles&dir" Destination dir = C:\Backup\job#1\month\"myfiles&dir" then do the next folder Source dir = C:\Jobs\job#2\"myfiles&dir" Destination dir = C:\Backup\job#2\month\"myfiles&dir" ...until all folders are back-up. Since the job folder keep increasing, by doing it this way I don't have to add extra code on this script except modify the month. Thank you.

  • Accessing SVN repository from CCNet (CruiseControl.net) using an Active Directory user

    I have CCNet setup to talk to our SVN repository, which has it's ACLs setup using Active Directory groups. This is working fine, except I'm not happy with having the user name and password of the AD user stored in plain text on the CCNet instance. Is there a way to either encrypt the AD username/password, or get the CCNet service (I've tried running the service as the user and removing the the username/password section of the CCNet/SVN config) to use a domain account outside of the standard config?

    I instantiate an object of some class in other ApDomain using CreateInstanceAndUnwrap(). I can determine if this object resides in other domain by using RemotingServices.IsTransparentProxy(). But can I determine if the real remote object has gone away (e.g. was garbage collected) without probing a call on proxy and catching RemotingException? Is it possible?

  • How can I trace NTFS and Share Permissions to see why I can (or can't) write a file

    I'm trying to track down WHY I can write in a folder that, by my best estimation, I should not be able to write. The folder is shared with "Everyone" has "Full Control", with the files being more restrictive. My best guess is there's some sort of sub-group membership that's allowing me to write, but the nesting of groups that exists in our Active Directory is pretty extensive. Is there a tool, that will tell me which of the ACL entries allowed or disallowed my writing a file in a folder? The Effective Permissions dialog is marginally helpful, but what I need is something like a "NTFS ACL Trace Tool", if such a thing exists.

  • Indirect load of type fails in PowerShell

    When invoking [System.Configuration.ConfigurationManager]::GetSection("MySection") from within a PowerShell prompt, it throws an exception because the assembly containing the type represented by "MySection" in the app config is unable to be loaded. However, I have previously loaded the assembly containing that type, and I am even able to instantiate the type directly using 'new-object'. How is the ConfigurationManager resolving types such that the assemblies already loaded into the PowerShell app domain are not visible to it?
