  • How to split audio into multiple channels from optical S/PDIF or 1/8"?

    I have a motherboard which has an optical S/PDIF output or 1/8". I'd like to "split" that signal into the appropriate channels so that I can then connect that to the wires behind my car's headunit which, in turn, run to the amp. The factory Bose amp just takes a single connector with a million wires running out of it, so that's why I would need to separate the signal into separate channels. On the other end there are four RCA connectors: front left, front right, rear left, rear right. The sub-woofer signal does not require an additional connection.   • Installing software at large organisation

    I have to give an MSI to a large organisation for it to install (presumably via GPO) on to some of their workstations that are running XP. I already know that my application is not allowed to write to the application folder. I realise it should be writing to the AppData folder. The organisation has allocated a folder on a server for the database files and other configuration files. This folder is referenced by UNC naming and not by mapped drives. My question is: based on normal practices, is my app likely to have the rights to create a sub-folder on this server? Is my app likely to have the rights to create files on this server?

    Hello, I'm writing a customized reflective library for some specialized custom domain logic, and that library is going to use XML configuration files that will dynamically resolve System.Type objects at runtime. However, when writing the XML configuration files, it's a bit of a pain to write the types because they need to be fully qualified assembly names for Type.GetType() to resolve them. Is there a way to find out the AssemblyQualifiedName of an object in Visual Studio without resorting to writing a program to print them out to a file or standard out or anything like that ?

  • Cannot open root device xvda1 or unknown-block(0,0)

    I'm putting together a Dom0 and three DomU (all Gentoo) with kernel 3.5.7 and Xen 4.1.1. Each Dom has it's own md (md0 for Dom0, md1 for Dom1 etc). Dom0 works fine so far, however, I'm stuck trying to create DomUs.   • With NHibernate, how can I add a child object when updating a parent object?

    I have a simple Parent/Child relationship between a Person object and an Address object. The Person object exists in the DB. After doing a Get on the Person, I add a new Address object to the Address sub-object list of the parent, and do some other updates to the Person object. Finally, I do an Update on the Person object. With a SQL trace window, I can see the update to the Person object to the Person table and the Insert of the Address record to the Address table. The issue is that, after the update is performed, the AddressId (primary key on the Address object) is still set to 0, which is what it defaults to when you first initialize the Address object. I have verified that when I do an Add, this value is set correctly. Is this a known issue when trying to add sub-objects as part of an NHibernate UPDATE?     When I am deploying certain vendor EAR file to Sun App Server, I encountered a connection timeout errror. I thought the reason might be proxy settings need to be defined so I actually defined the following -Dhttp.proxyHost=hostname -Dhttp.proxyPassword=password -Dhttp.proxyPort=8080 -Dhttp.proxyUser=username After setting these and restart domain then redeploy I encountered 407 error. Anyone have any idea what could be the issue here?

Whats happening: After dig, answer section empty, the query is trying to access a.root server instead of 192.168.0.197 ,even though i have defined 192.168.0.197 as dns in gateway1's resolv.conf Why? I need this working asap, can anyone here help ?

    I am trying to build a Kendo UI SPA. I have two views. View 1 (appListView) shows Application Details in a grid and view 2 (activityView) will have a dropdown for application names and a grid that shows the activity for selected application As I am loading all the application details on the loading of view 1, I would like to re-use those details to populate the dropdown on view 2. Please see my code below. Everything works fine but when I go to View 2 it makes a call to the service again to get application details. I would like to use the existing data if it is already loaded and if the uses comes to view 2 directly then it should get application data also. I am not sure what I am missing in the code.     My university provides a public_html file in each student's Linux directory so tat each student can have a webpage. I want to put all my PHP scripts into that file and place the index in a sub-directory called webroot. I'm trying to work out a way to have an .htaccess file in the public_html that will redirect ALL requests in that folder to be redirected. There's lots of advice on redirecting any file that doesn't exists but I want to redirect regardless of the existence of a file. Can I use something like RewriteCond TRUE?

  • DOS Batch file to find "new" files by date

    My PC has entered an infinite BSOD loop - but I do have access to a safe-mode command prompt. I'm trying to get an idea of "what changed" that might have triggered this. e.g. I might have gotten a virus, or an app update went belly up. I'd like to thus see which files were created/modified in the last few days/week or at least the *.exe, *.dll, *.com, *.bat etc. I thought I was ok with my Batch-fu but I'm stumped on how to write a quick batch file/command that would list the files for me. REM This will find the files, but the results are all muddled REM all EXE files, reverse sort by date, recursively through sub-directories dir *.exe /O-D /S What I'd really like is to find all (executable filetypes) that were created/modified in the last 3-7 days. Can anyone point me in the right direction?

  • Map a drive to root of a server (\\sever) in Vista

    Hi, In Win XP, I can very easily map a network drive to the root of my NAS server. I browse to it in Explorer (\192.168.1.70), choose "Map Network Drive", choose the drive letter, done. In Vista, this does not seem possible. I have to go "Map Network Drive" from 'Computer', then enter the address, but it will only let me map to specific shares (sub-folders off of the server root) and NOT to the server root share. Since my NAS has built-in shares (music, photo, video, etc.) then I would have to have drive letters for all of these, which I absolutely don't want. Can anyone tell me - how come I can easily map to the server root from XP, but not in Vista? Is there something fundamentally different in the networking across the two OS's? Or do I just need to do things a different way? Hope someone can help. Thanks, AT
