Final Update After listening to Dave, I finally made it by overloading both / and & to return the quotient and the remainder so thanks a lot everyone for your help and especially you Dave for your great idea! Debugging HTML & JavaScript with Firebug

I made a JSONP widget. However, when one of the partner sites put it in their page, (1) it doesn't render at all in IE and (2) in other browsers (Firefox & Google Chrome), the HTML of the widget renders incorrectly: the <aside> closes prematurely, before the Financial Aid Glossary. It's something specific to that page because it works fine on this example college resource center page. To fix these two issues, I tried saving the page source to a local file and messing around with the local file and with Firebug, deleting DOM elements and stuff. I even tried fixing the errors that The W3C Markup Validation Service found. But, I still couldn't get it to render correctly. How should I tell them to change their page so that the widget renders correctly? Or, how should I update the widget script I wrote? How To: UiBinder + GWT MVP + multiple independent display areas

I am using GWT MVP and UiBinder to create an app with a DockLayoutPanel. I want the north and south docks to be static, containing buttons and links. I want to have dynamic views in the center and two different areas of the east dock. As these dynamic areas should be independent of each other, I am setting up different ActivityMapper and ActivityManager's for each dynamic display area; center, east-top, and east-bottom. How can I independently initialize these 3 different display areas when the application is loaded? How can I switch from one Activity to another in one display area without affecting the other areas? When I use the the PlaceController's goTo to switch from one Place to another in one area, the other area's Activity is stopped. Mayday, please help, mayday! Alpha Beta Search

I'm making a version of Martian Chess in java with AI and so far I THINK my move searching is semi-working, it seems to work alright for some depths but if I use a depth of 3 it returns a move for the opposite side...now the game is a bit weird because when a piece crosses half of the board, it becomes property of the other player so I think this is part of the problem. My knowledge of C++ syntax is very weak, and I'm concerned I'm not properly removing an element from the container or deleting it from memory. It appears to be removing the shared_ptr from the container. The allhosts container currently has one functioning index that relies on the host's ID. If I introduce an ordered second index that calls on a member function (Host::getAge()), where the age changes over the course of the simulation, is the index always going to be updated when I refer to it? What is the difference between using the MultiIndex's modify to modify the age of the underlying object versus the approach I show above? I'm vaguely confused about what is assumed/required to be constant in MultiIndex. Thanks in advance. EntityManager injection works in JBoss 7.1.1 but not WebSphere 7

I've built an EJB that will manage my database access. I'm building a web app around it that uses Struts 2. The problem I'm having is when I deploy the ear, the EntityManager doesn't get injected into my service class (and winds up null and results in NullPointerExceptions). The weird thing is, it works on JBoss 7.1.1 but not on WebSphere 7. You'll notice that Struts doesn't inject the EJB, so I've got some intercepter code that does that. My current working theory right now is that the WS7 container can't inject the EntityManager because of Struts for some unknown reason. My next step is to try Spring next, but I'd really like to get this to work if possible. I've spent a few days searching and trying various things and haven't had any luck. I figured I'd give this a shot. jQuery CSS Custom Flyout Menu Styling Issue

I'm close to nailing this flyout menu I have been working on, just have a couple of current pain points. I'm trying to get left/right padding on my submenu items, as you can see I am not quite there. Also when the first submenu is displayed, I want to create a bit of a gap between the first row of list items and the child. Below is my current code and a screen shot displaying what I want. Anchor bug on IE9, anchor hitbox overlapped

The menu below works just fine in Firefox and Chrome, but in IE9, but hitbox for the "HOME" anchor is being covered partially by the list item behind it except for the actual test, and a single horizontal pixel line at the top and bottom of the button. Simply adding a background image fixes the issue. The code is set up so it styles so the hit boxes for all the menu items are the same regardless if there's a link in them or not to facilitate an "onClick" drop down on those menu items without anchors. Refer to lines 81 - 86. Remove those lines (just a background image), and the hit box issue is seen in the menu items "NOT A LINK" as well. Further, the act of adding a background image fixes the hit box issue of "THIS IS A LINK" menu items. Simply add the following snippet to the CSS: .menu-navigation > li > span > a { background:url("../img/down.png") no-repeat right center; } Adding a background image, even if there is no actual image, is changing something with regards to the hit box... A quick search of stack-overflow told me I need to use something called a background worker. Prim's MST algorithm implementation with Java

I'm trying to write a program that'll find the MST of a given undirected weighted graph with Kruskal's and Prim's algorithms. I've successfully implemented Kruskal's algorithm in the program, but I'm having trouble with Prim's. To be more precise, I can't figure out how to actually build the Prim function so that it'll iterate through all the vertices in the graph. I'm getting some IndexOutOfBoundsException errors during program execution. I'm not sure how much information is needed for others to get the idea of what I have done so far, but hopefully there won't be too much useless information. This is what I have so far: I have a Graph, Edge and a Vertex class. Vertex class mostly just an information storage that contains the name (number) of the vertex. Edge class can create a new Edge that has gets parameters (Vertex start, Vertex end, int edgeWeight). The class has methods to return the usual info like start vertex, end vertex and the weight. Graph class reads data from a text file and adds new Edges to an ArrayList. The text file also tells us how many vertecis the graph has, and that gets stored too. In the Graph class, I have a Prim() -method that's supposed to calculate the MST: public ArrayList<Edge> Prim(Graph G) { ArrayList<Edge> edges = G.graph; // Copies the ArrayList with all edges in it. Mainly though as I mentioned my problem is with actually building the main loop in the Prim() -method, and if there's any additional info needed I'm happy to provide it. Thank you. Edit: To clarify what my train of thought with the Prim() method is. What I want to do is first randomize the starting point in the graph. After that, I will find the closest neighbor to that starting point. Then we'll add the edge connecting those two points to the MST, and also add the vertices to the visited list for checking later, so that we won't form any loops in the graph. Difference between Factory Method and Abstract Factory design patterns using C#.Net

First of all I'll just put both these patterns in context and describe their intent as in the GOF book: Factory Method: Define an interface for creating an object, but let subclasses decide which class to instantiate. Factory Method lets a class defer instantiation to subclasses. Abstract Factory: Provide an interface for creating families of related or dependent objects without specifying their concrete classes. Points to note: Abstract factory pattern adds a layer of abstraction to the factory method pattern. The type of factory is not known to the client at compile time, this information is passed to the client at runtime (How it is passed is again dependent on the system, you may store this information in configuration files and the client can read it on execution). Drop down select to change a second drop down select automatically

I have a webpage where I have a form with several areas to input text and two drop down select options countries is the first one and depending in witch country is chosen the second should display the estates for that country to choose. my page connects to my db from where it gets the countries and estates.... I have a table with the country names and one table for each country estates. so all I'm trying to do is making it change the states to choose from automatically depending witch country got selected with out summiting the form since that enters a new entry to another table in my db. I seen that using javascript is the way to go but can't get it to work in my case since I don't want to be sent to another page or summit the form. here is part of my code any help will be greatly appreciated. One is that when I click (do a tap) on any location, the overlay is not changing to that place. Also, the app crashes when I am on the MapView page and I click on back button. What might be the error?
