  • Is there a convention for organizing the include/exports in a large C++ project ?

    Hello, In a large C++ solution, is there a best/standard way to separate the include files necessary to build an intermediary DLL and the include files which will be used by the DLL clients ? We have grouped all the include files in a folder called Interface (for DLL interface), but there the customers have to either include the Interface folder as a default include folder or type the full name as: #include "ProjectName/Interface/myinterface.h" Wouldn't it be better to create a separate folder called exports where I would create a folder called ProjectName and put the include files there ? So that the customers would be typing: #include "ProjectName/myinterface.h" If I do the thing right above, then should I keep the files within the solution and produce a post build event (I use Visual Studio 2k5) to copy the files into the "export" folder (/ProjectName/) ? Or is it better to just include directly the files from this folder within my project (this is more direct and has less chances to cause maintenance issues ? I am more looking for advice than for a definite solution. Thank you for reading this ! Anthony

    Is it possible to create an application for Android, which can generate a video signal (HDMI or VGA) via USB? Any Android device has miniUSB port. Theoretically it's possible to create a small commutator device on microcontroller or microscheme, which will be a USB-host for Android device. You'll connect Android device with commutator and then connect commutator with monitor. For example, the scheme looks like: Android phone - commutator (USB-host) - TV/Monitor. Summary, I need to connect android phone with TV via miniUSB port. I found soft which can use miniUSB - HDMI cable, but those apps only for Motorolla Droid and HTC Evo. I'll glad to get links to existing apps or projects on that theme, to info about software generation HDMI-signal and connecting Android devices with another devices.     I have this function that gets the fileData as a byte array and a file path. The error I am getting is when it tries to set the fileInfo in the code bewlo. It says 'Physical Path given, Virtual Path expected' public override void WriteBinaryStorage(byte[] fileData, string filePath) { try { // Create directory if not exists. System.IO.File.WriteAllBytes(System.Web.HttpContext.Current.Server.MapPath(filePath), fileData); } catch (Exception) { throw; } } When debugging it, is providing the filePath as "E:\\WEBS\\webapp\\default\\images\\mains\\myimage.jpg" . And the error message is 'E:/WEBS/webapp/default/images/mains/myimage.jpg' is a physical path, but a virtual path was expected. Also, what it is triggering this to happen is the following call properties.ResizeImage(imageName, Configurations.ConfigSettings.MaxImageSize, Server.MapPath(Configurations.EnvironmentConfig.LargeImagePath));

    In Microsoft Visual Studio 2010, it is possible to create a Solution with multiple projects and set dependencies between projects. I'm trying to figure out if the same thing can be done using Eclipse via the NDK. More specifically, I want to know if it is possible to create C source files in an ordinary Android project that can reference C header files in an Android library project. For example: Android library project: Sockets Ordinary Android project: Socket_Server Sockets contains all the C header/source files that are needed to do socket I/O. Socket_Server contains test code that makes calls to the functions that are defined in Sockets library project. This test code requires a header file that contains the function declaration of all API calls. I already set the library dependencies between the projects via: Properties > Android > Library > Add

In HsqlDB, one can still accomplish creating an auto-increment identity column which doesn't link to any user defined sequence. Is it possible to use a user defined sequence as the generator of an auto-increment identity column in HsqlDB? Sample sql in PostgreSql: CREATE SEQUENCE seq_company_id START WITH 1; CREATE TABLE company ( id bigint PRIMARY KEY DEFAULT nextval('seq_company_id'), name varchar(128) NOT NULL CHECK (name < '') ); What's the equivalent in HsqlDB?   • Counts of events grouped by date in python?

    This is no doubt another noobish question, but I'll ask it anyways: I have a data set of events with exact datetime in UTC. I'd like to create a line chart showing total number of events by day (date) in the specified date range. Right now I can retrieve the total data set for the needed date range, but then I need to go through it and count up for each date. The app is running on google app engine and is using python. What is the best way to create a new data set showing date and corresponding counts (including if there were no events on that date) that I can then use to pass this info to a django template? Data set for this example looks like this: class Event(db.Model): event_name = db.StringProperty() doe = db.DateTimeProperty() dlu = db.DateTimeProperty() user = db.UserProperty() Ideally, I want something with date and count for that date.     Hello, I have a form (Rails) which allows me to load a .csv file using the file_field. In the view: <% form_for(:upcsv, :html => {:multipart => true}) do |f| %> <table> <tr> <td><%= f.label("File:") %></td> <td><%= f.file_field(:filename) %></td> </tr> </table> <%= f.submit("Submit") %> <% end %> Clicking Submit redirects me to another page (create.html.erb). The file was loaded fine, and I was able to read the contents just fine in this second page. I am trying to show the number of lines in the .csv file in this second page. My controller (semi-pseudocode): class UpcsvController < ApplicationController def index end def create file = params[:upcsv][:filename] ... #params[:upcsv][:file_length] = file.length # Show number of lines in the file #params[:upcsv][:file_length] = file.size ... end end Both file.length and file.size returns '91' when my file only contains 7 lines. From the Rails documentation that I read, once the Submit button is clicked, Rails creates a temp file of the uploaded file, and the params[:upcsv][:filename] contains the contents of the temp/uploaded file and not the path to the file. And I don't know how to extract the number of lines in my original file. What is the correct way to get the number of lines in the file? My create.html.erb: <table> <tr> <td>File length:</td> <td><%= params[:upcsv][:file_length] %></td> </tr> </table> I'm really new at Rails (just started last week), so please bear with my stupid questions.     Hi , I have some activities in my project like, Alerts,HomePage , Calculator etc. What i want to accomplish is to create tabs for all these activities and insert images for these. When we touch the tab the corresponding activity must load. I have done it using the menu options. But i must accomplish this using tabs. The tabs must also be at the bottom of the page... Something like this... Can anyone guide through the process...??? Should i create another class Tabs.java and tabs.xml or should i write tab host for each activity...??? I have tried to find it in google and also in stackoverflowbut in vague. Plz give a solution...

    I’m building a site that needs users created with different roles and permissions to access different areas of the site. I using mvc 2 but I can’t find much clear guidance on using the Membership tool with mvc to create accounts and roles etc. I tried the web configuration tool which works but I would like to administrate the site remotely. I used the aspnet_regsql tool so I can access the SqlMembershipProvider Schema in my Database. I also need to add more information to a user like profile info and a picture, would I add these to the membership tables or create separate tables for this?   • MySQL - mysqldump --routines to only export 1 stored procedure (by name) and not every routine

    So we have a lot of routines that come out from exporting. We often need to get these out in CLI, make changes and bring them back in. Yes some of these are managed by different folks and a better change control is required but for now this is the situation. If I do mysqldump --routines --no-create-info --no-data --no-create-db then great I have 200 functions I need to go through a file to find just the one or set I want. Is there anyway to mysqldump routines that I want like there is for tables???

  • dynamic searchable fields, best practice?

    I have a Lexicon model, and I want user to be able to create dynamic feature to every lexicon. And I have a complicate search interface that let user search on every single feature (including the dynamic ones) belonged to Lexicon model. I could have used a serialized text field to save all the dynamic information if they are not for searching. In case I want to let user search on all fields, I have created a DynamicField Model to hold all dynamically created features. But imagine I have 1,000,000,000 lexicon, and if one create a dynamic feature for every lexicon, this will result creating 1,000,000,000 rows in DynamicField model. So the sql search function will become quite inefficient while a lot of dynamic features created. Is there a better solution for this situation? Which way should I take? searching for a better db design for dynamic fields try to tuning mysql(add cache fields, add index ...) with current db design

  • Flex Custom UIComponents

    I have created a graph component in AS3 which extends UIComponent. I created an mxml component which is just a Label. The idea is to use the label component to show the values on the graph when you hover over points. I have tried two approaches. Create the Label component using ClassFactory inside the graph so it gets created in the graph component and addChild is called there. The problem is it is always 0 in size. Create in main mxml file and pass in to graph using a setter, the sizing is perfect but the x an y dont relate to my graph :( I suppose its similar to flex and itemrenderers, but in my case i have a graph and another component which can be changed, at the moment it is just a Label.     I'm messing around with stored procedures for the first time, but can't even create a simple select! I'm using phpMyAdmin and this is my SQL: DELIMITER // CREATE PROCEDURE test_select() BEGIN SELECT * FROM products LIMIT 10; END // DELIMITER ; After submitting that, my localhost does some thinking for a loooong time and eventually loads a page with no content called /phpmyadmin/import.php. After reloading phpMyAdmin and trying to invoke the procedure: CALL test_select(); I get a "PROCEDURE doesn't exist" error. Any ideas?

Do they actually save the ad/post in the database before continuing to Step 2 (Preview) but set a flag (like a boolean field called preview set to true)? It looks like they set a token paramater but I'm not sure what it's used for) I'm interested in this because it seems to go against the CRUD/REST and I thought it would be good to know how it worked.     I have some beans which contain methods which are annotated with both @RolesAllowed and @Transactional. I have one Spring config file which utilizes a BeanNameAutoProxyCreator for Security related beans and another Spring config file which utilizes a BeanNameAutoProxyCreator for Transactional related beans. The problem is that some beans contain both security as well as transactional-related beans. So Spring creates proxies for one set of beans. It then tries to create proxies for the other set of beans. When it does, it tries to create proxies of the proxies and bombs out. Has anyone tried to configure both security and transactionality in the same beans via Spring? What's the trick? Thanks.

    I'm working to create a simple Python script that will ultimately tell you how many blog entries were posted in a given month, and the pyblog app is proving very helpful. However, when I create the blog object, I don't know how to access it's various attributes.   • Ideas for loading initial data in an iPhone application?

    Hi all, In my app I want to load some initial data to show the user how it works. The app uses a CoreData managed sqllite db. SO far I've thought of 3 options: Write code into a class to programmatically create the data. Create a xml file in the apps resources and load through a NSXmlParser whose delegate creates the entries in the sqllite db. Same as option #2, but use a json file and bring in a 3rd party lib to read it. Are there other options I have not found yet? and given that I'm talking about perhaps 6 records per table when there are 3 tables, which would you choose?
