• migrating moss 2007 to moss 2010

  since we are having our MOSS 2007 on 32bit machine it is not possible to upgrade it to 2010 so i think to only way is to install fresh moss 2010 and then migrate the sites and webs from 2007 to 2010, what is the best way to do this?

  Does anyone happen to know what the maximum length of a method name is in your programming language of choice? I was going to make this a C# specific question, but I think it would be nice to know across the spectrum. What are the factors involved as well: Does the language specification limit this? What does the compiler limit it to? Is it different on 32bit vs 64bit machines?

Ruby 1.8.7, Rails Enterprise Edition 2.3.5, Ubuntu 9.10 32bit. Does anybody have an idea how to fix this?

  im trying to build an executable (for 32bit windows xp) from a python script (which uses lots of eggs) i considered py2exe(0.6.9), PyInstaller (1.4) and cx_Freeze (4.1.2) py2exe doesnt like eggs for breakfast PyInstaller doesnt like python 2.6 for lunch) so i went with cx_Freeze (supposed to support eggs seamlessly since 4.0b1). but for some reason it doesnt. what parameters do i pass in order for files inside an egg to be recognized?

• java: how can i set the compatibility mode of a native .exe?

  So i have a native executable (both for OS X and Windows) tucked inside a .jar, which is then programatically extracted to a temp location and executed from there. Unfortunately this executable will not run properly on my Windows machine (Win 7 64bit), when i manually set the compatibility mode to a Windows XP preset however, it will work. Is there a way i can do this programatically from Java?

  Hello, I'm using pthreads-win32 for portable threading support for windows. At least, according to the documentation pthreads-win32 should work with MSVC and even MSVC builds provided. But I don't know if the library is tested with latest MSVC compilers like MSVC-2008 and if it is supported under 64bit windows. Does anybody aware of any issues with this library? Note: Do not even try to recommend using Boost.Thread, I'm not interested in. And I'm familiar with Boost.Thread library

  If I have a high-end server, for example with 1T memory and 8x4core CPU... will it bring more performance if I run multiple App Server (on different JVM) rather than just one App Server?   VB6 CreateObject() is advising this error msg: "Automation Error" - "Not enough storage is available to process this command" The object being created is a DLL written in C. I'm running the application that's trying to create the object on my machine, and the object itself is being created on my machine also. I'm running Windows Vista 64bit.   Is there any clever way to mix two bit sequences in such way that bits from first sequence will be on odd places, and bits from second sequence will be on even places. Both sequences are no longer than 16b so output will fit into 32bit integer. Example: First sequence : 1 0 0 1 0 0 Second sequence : 1 1 1 0 1 1 Output : 1 1 0 1 0 1 1 0 0 1 0 1 I thought about making integer array of size 2^16 and then the output would be: arr[first] << 1 | arr[second]

• Parallel processing in R 2.11 Windows 64-bit using SNOW not quite working

  I'm running R 2.11 64-bit on a WinXP64 machine with 8 processors. With R 2.10.1 the following code spawned 6 R processes for parallel processing: require(foreach) require(doSNOW) cl = makeCluster(6, type='SOCK') registerDoSNOW(cl) bl2 = foreach(i=icount(length(unqmrno))) %dopar% { (Some code here) } stopCluster(cl) When I run the same code in R 2.11 Win64, the 6 R processes are not spawning, and the code hangs. I'm wondering if this is a problem with the port of SNOW to 2.11-64bit, or if any additional code is required on my part. Thanks

• Indexing Service: getting empty columns on custom properties

  I'm following this example: http://www.codinghorror.com/blog/2005/12/getting-started-with-indexing-service.html However, the conversion to dataset shows empty columns for my custom properties. If I use path or filename for the columns I get data back. I have set the properties to be cached, have tried both levels, and have rescanned full. I've tried this example on my desktop (windows vista 32bit) and on a Windows 2008 R2 server with the same results.

• sudo taking long time

  On a Ubuntu 9 64bit Linux machine, sudo takes longer time to start. "sudo echo hi" takes 2-3 minutes. strace on sudo tells poll("/etc/pam.d/system-auth", POLLIN) timesout after 5 seconds and there are multiple calls(may be a loop) to same system call (which causes 2-3min delay). Any idea why sudo has to wait for /etc/pam.d/system-auth? Any tunable to make sudo to timeout faster? Thanks Samuel

  does anybody know how to run dmd under linux? i downloaded the tango linux binary and extracted it to a special folder. i call "export PATH..." but when i tried to run dmd all i get was bash: /home/user/dmd/bin/dmd: No such file or directory sorry im new to linux and just installed ubuntu 9.04 64bit. thanks.

Actually, the dotTrace button in VisualStudio is also greyed out. the VisualStudio AddIns menu list dotTrace as started. VS2008 sp1 Windows 7 64bit R# 4.5 dotTrace 3.1 I tried Restarts, Reinstall, Re-whatever. Has anyone experienced that also? Does anyone has a solution for that?

Some initial testing is showing Direct Connect in 64bit dotConnect running 30% slower at times than our original ODP.net/OCI 32 bit solution. While editing PHP file I choose Refactor-Rename menu or a rename hotkey and Eclipse doesn't offer me to rename a variable, instead a rename file dialog appears. Tried to configure hotkeys but no luck. If you do know the solution – please tell. Thank you.

I've experienced outofmemory from my application : Current setting is : -Xmx900m Computer, Windows 2003 Server 32bit, RAM 4GB. Also is changing boot.ini to /3GB on windows, will make any difference? If is set Xmx900m, how much max native memory can be allocated for this process ? is it 1100m ?

  This was added to the page later with jQuery: <input name="pdfRadio" id="pdfRadioNo0" value="0" type="radio"> This code: radio_id = "pdfRadioNo0" ie.radio(:id, radio_id).set() does not set it but returns an error message: Watir::Exception::UnknownObjectException: Unable to locate element, using {:id=>"pdfRadioNo0"} Does watir also find radio butons that were added later?
