• Encrypt nsdata in iphone and decrypt it in php

  Hi All, I am new to Iphone development , I want to create an application in which I have to upload some data on php server using my Iphone application. For this I have an file on the Iphone whose content I have to upload on php server. For this I have converted the content of the file in NSData and now I want to encrypt this nsdata object and then pass it to the php server and on php server firstly I have to decrypt the nsdata object then I have to upload it on the server. But I am not able to find any way by which I can encrypt some data in Iphone app and then decrypt it in php. And also I want to compress the encrypted data before transferring it to php and then uncompress that data on php. The complete flow of my application is IPhone NSData -- Encrypted NsData -- Compressed Encrypted Data php Compressed Encrypted Data -- uncompressed encrypted data -- decrypted (original) NSData.   When building a .NET library, what's your exception handling policy? In specific, what's your policy about handling exceptions inside library calls and exposing them to calling code? Would you treat a library function as any other, thus letting all exceptions it can't handle flow out of it as-is? Would you create a custom exception for that library? Would you catch all exceptions and throw the library's exception instead? Would you set the original exception as the library's exception internal exception? How would the library dependence on a DB affect your exception-handling policy? What other guidelines and rules would you suggest?

• SSIS- Sharepoint list data transfer issue

  Hi , We are trying to transfer data from oracle database (about 60,0000) records only to a sharepoint list using SSIS. But we are getting following error when records reaches around 19000 . The attempt to add a row to the Data Flow task buffer failed with error code 0xC0047020 and System.ServiceModel.ProtocolException: The remote server returned an unexpected response: (400) Bad Request. Earlier we thought if could because of Sharepoint list limit so we tried by reducing two of the columns and then it has went fine. So we left with one of the column of Datatype DT_STR and length 400 in oracle beacuse of which issue might be happening, It is mapped to sharepoint custom list field of multiline type. We also verified if length of field is issue but in oracle DB for all records max length for this column is only 239 so length issue is also ruled out. Any one who has faced this kind of issue or knows cause of this issue.Kindly let us know.. Thanks and regards, Vicky

• SSIS - Wizard vs manual vs programming

  I'd like to move 26 tables from one DB to another. I see I can do this in the SSIS Import and Export Wizard. I believe the other approach would be to select tools from the toolbar in Data Flow and then configure them all. When is it better to use the wizard and when is it best to create the package manually (with the visual tools) or programmatically? One thing I noticed with the Wizard is that it lets me select multiple tables at once, but I could not find a way to get back to that screen once the package is created, so that I could edit the various tables all in one place.

  A 2 part question: Are flow-charts, as tool to analyze source-code, no longer considered useful? The reason I ask this question is that if you Google for source-code to flowchart tools for Visual Studio, there are no relevant results. Also, Microsoft does not seem to have a tool for this purpose. Are people just not using flowcharts that much any more? (I find them to be a great way to document complex logic in my code). Are there any VS tools that can take .Net (C#, VB.Net) code and convert it to a flowchart? (The only tool that I found is Aviosto's Visustin, which does not provide VS integration). Any other tools that you can recommend for this purpose?

• Outbound traffic being blocked for MIP/VIPped servers (Juniper SSG5)

  As we've been having some problems with sporadic packet loss, I've been preparing a replacement router (also an SSG5) for our current Juniper SSG5. I've setup the new SSG5 identically to the old one. We have a /29 IP range with a single IP setup as a MIP map to a server and two others being used for VIP maps. Each VIP/MIP is accompanied by relevant policies. Long story short - we tried connected the new SSG5 and some things were not working as they should. No problem, I just reconnected the old one. However, some things are still broken, even when I reconnected the old one. I fear I may have inadvertently changed some settings while browsing through old settings in my attempt to reconfigure the new SSG5 unit. All inbound traffic seems to work as expected. However, the 192.168.2.202 server can't initiate any outbound connections. It works perfectly on the local network, but any pings or DNS lookups to external IP's fail. The MIP & VIP map to it works perfectly - I can access it through HTTP and RDP without issues. Any tips on what to debug, or where I've messed up my config?   Hi, How to implement a website with a recommendation system similar to stackoverflow/digg/reddit? I.e., users submit content and the website needs to calculate some sort of "hotness" according to how popular the item is. The flow is as follows: Users submit content Other users view and vote on the content (assume 90% of the users only views content and 10% actively votes up or down on content) New content is continuously submitted How do I implement an algorithm that calculates the "hotness" of a submitted item, preferably in real-time? Are there any best-practices or design patterns? I would assume that the algorithm takes the following into consideration: When an item was submitted When each vote was cast When the item was viewed E.g. an item that gets a constant trickle of votes would stay somewhat "hot" constantly while an item that receives a burst of votes when it is first submitted will jump to the top of the "hotness"-list but then fall down as the votes stop coming in. (I am using a MySQL+PHP but I am interested in general design patterns).

  Hi, I'm working on a project for my A level. It involves finding the maximum flow of a network, and I'm using javascript. I have a 2D array, with values in the array representing a distance between the two points. An example of the array: 0 2 2 0 0 0 1 2 0 0 0 2 0 0 0 0 I think I need to use a recursive technique to find a path; below is some pseudocode, assuming that the array is 4x4. a is (0,0), b is (3,3). function search(a,b) from a to b if element(i,j) != 0 then store value of element search(j,3) I was wondering if that was the right construction for a depth first search. • Thread and two dimensional array in objective C?

  Hey, guys, I am just starting to wrap my head around objective C and I am doing a little project on Iphone. And I just encountered a weird problem. I had to deal with images in my program so I have a lot local variables declared like temp[width][height]. If I am not using NSThread to perform image processing, it works all fine. However, if I use NSThread, it'll keep giving me EXC_BAD_ACCESS on whenever I try to access a 2-D array declared like temp[widht][height]. So I have to allocate memory from heap in order to have a 2-D array. That'll solve the problem but I still don't get it. My first thought would be stack over flow, but it worked all fine with one thread. I just don't get it.

• LaTeX beamer free-flowing two column?

  So in standard LaTeX, there is \twocolumn, where I can just type text, and it'll go down the left side of the page, then continue at the top of the right side of the page. Now, I know that inside of a Beamer frame, I can manually create two columns, of various width, with text in them -- however, is there a way to have the text freely flow from one column to the next? [I.e. I want to say "this text goes in these two columns; and have beamer figure out which goes into which column]. Thanks!

These tools are great but they are still no best practices attached to their usage, so I don't know what is the most efficient way to use them. Do you use pip bundles or always download? Do you set up Apache/Cherokee/MySQL by hand or do you have a script for than. Do you put everything in virtual_env and use --no-site-package? Do you use one virtual_env for several projects? What do you use Fabric for (which part of your deployment do you script)? Do you put your Fabric scripts in on the client or the server? How do you handle database and media file migration? Do you even need a build tool such as SCons? What are the steps of your deployment? How often do you perform each of them? etc.

  I have a .net application calling to a COM component (C++) which in turn calls to another COM object implemented in .NET. This application is using Windows SxS capabilities and does not register any of it's COM components. Not the one written in C++, and not the one written in .net. This first call to the C++ COM component works fine. But when the C++ COM component calls to the .net one, it fails with class not registered. I have tried creating a small C++ app with a manifest file which calls the .net component and it works. It seems that when the flow is .net - COM NATIVE - .NET COM. Then SxS breaks and does not work. When looking at Fusion Logs (assembly loading logs) I see that no one is even attempting to resolve the .NET COM assembly. Is this SxS scenario even supposed to work (I think it does supposed to work)? If yes, then what can I be doing wrong ?

  In Actionscript 3, most events use the capture/target/bubble model, which is pretty popular nowadays: When an event occurs, it moves through the three phases of the event flow: the capture phase, which flows from the top of the display list hierarchy to the node just before the target node; the target phase, which comprises the target node; and the bubbling phase, which flows from the node subsequent to the target node back up the display list hierarchy. However, some events, such as the Sprite class's enterFrame event, do not capture OR bubble - you must subscribe directly to the target to detect the event. The documentation refers to these as "broadcast events." I assume this is for performance reasons, since these events will be triggered constantly for each sprite on stage and you don't want to have to deal with all that superfluous event propagation. I want to dispatch my own broadcast events. I know you can prevent an event from bubbling (Event.bubbles = false), but can you get rid of capture as well?

I see advantages in having almost all the Interfaces using LocalDateTime (at the Service Layer at least) so that my Application doesn't have to manage Timezones and can safely assume Times always in UTC. My app could then use DateTime to manage Timezones at the very beginning of the Execution's Flow. I'm also wondering in which scenario can DateMidnight be useful.

  We've created a flow chart using Visio that has multiple layers. (The background is that each layer represents variations on a basic process.) Now we want to be able to print each layer individually. Currently this involves lots of clicking to select the correct layer and and then press print - then repeating this for each of the 10 layers. Is there a simpler way? E.g. define each layer once and use a "print each layer" tool / macro?

To load a document into a IHTMLDocument I need to do this: while Doc.readyState <> 'complete' do Application.ProcessMessages; I want not to process all the message queue during the loading, because I would be changing my application flow, in other words, some messages that should be processed after the loading to be completed can be processed earlier, even before the loading end.   Hi Guys I know you can do this to get vertical text in a tab header: <Window x:Class="Abodemploy.Window1" xmlns="http://schemas.microsoft.com/winfx/2006/xaml/presentation" xmlns:x="http://schemas.microsoft.com/winfx/2006/xaml" Title="Window1" Height="300" Width="300" <Grid <TabControl Margin="0" Name="tabControl1" FlowDirection="LeftToRight" TabStripPlacement="Left" <TabItem <TabItem.Header <StackPanel Orientation="Horizontal" <TextBlockHomes</TextBlock </StackPanel </TabItem.Header <TabItem.LayoutTransform <TransformGroup <RotateTransform Angle="90" / </TransformGroup </TabItem.LayoutTransform <Grid / </TabItem </TabControl </Grid </Window However the text letters are sideways. What I'd like (if possible) is for the letter orientation to be correct (ie upwards), but the text flow downwards, is this possible, or am I just dreaming the impossible dream? Thanks Psy

• Calling SSIS from BizTalk Orchestration

  I have a scenario were I need to move a vast amount of data, and I need to use BizTalk to control the flow and contain the business logic. The problem is that BizTalk will not be able to handle the amount of data that needs to be moved. We have decided to a BizTalk Orchestration to kick off an SSIS package that does the actual heavy lifting. However, there is a caveat in that we have to be able to pass information into SSIS such as file location and info about how to split certain data up. My question is, what is the best way to call into SSIS from an Orchestration given those parameters? Should I build a webservice around it? Is there an adapter or stored procedure that I can call? Or is there a way to call it directly from the Orchestration?
