  Compare two input dates to avoid invalid dates. In this example I have created two textboxes and namded as "TextBoxSeminarDate" and "TextBoxBookingDeadline". Booking deadline date must be before date to the Seminar date. Therefore I used Operator as "LesThanEqual". I have validated "TextBoxBookingDeadline" value comparing with the "TextBoxSeminarDate" value as follow.   <asp:CompareValidator ID="CompareValidatorBookingDeadline" runat="server" ControlToCompare="TextBoxSeminarDate" ControlToValidate="TextBoxBookingDeadline" Display="Dynamic" ErrorMessage="Please check the seminar date and select appropriate date for booking deadline" Operator="LessThanEqual" Type="Date"  ValueToCompare="<%= TextBoxSeminarDate.Text.ToShortString() %>">*</asp:CompareValidator> The important thing is "ValueToCompare" property of the compare validator.    How to clone a VirtualBox DiskCopying the image of Virtual Disk (.vdi file) is a convenient way to duplicate the disk, in cases you want to avoid re-installing an operating system from scratch. However, simply copying the .vdi file into another location will make a verbatim copy of the virtual disk, including the UUID of the disk. If you try to add the copy in the Virtual Media Manager, you will get an error like this:In this case, you have to do is to clone the vdi disk: cd C:\Program Files\Sun\VirtualBox\C:\Program Files\Sun\VirtualBox>vboxmanage clonevdi G:\VMWARES\Database\11GR2onOEL5forVbox\11GR2_OEL5_32GB.vdi G:\VMWARES\Database\11GR2onOEL5forVbox\OEL5_32GB.vdi$ VBoxManage clonevdi Master.vdi Clone.vdiIn case you receive a error like this. It means that the disk is already a copy of other VirtualBox Disk.In that case you chould change the UUID before to clone the Disk.Follow the steps given here in order to do that.

• Installing netflix, terminal is getting hung up

  Just got Ubuntu up and running, I am attempting to follow the steps laid our here to install Netflix via Wine. I have done the 3 terminal commands, and I believe the package has downloaded. The commands: sudo apt-add-repository ppa:ehoover/compholio sudo apt-get update sudo apt-get install netflix-desktop After this the terminal spits out a user agreement, and I cannot get past this. Is there some way to minimize the window within the terminal? This is what I see: . Netflix is not yet in my dash. It also appears that a variety of other updates are being held up, I assume, because my terminal is midthought.

• EL 3.0 Public Review - JSR 341 and Java EE 7 Moving Along

  Following closely on the lines of EL 3.0 Early Draft, the specification is now available for a Public Review. The JCP2 Process Document defines different stages of the specifications. This review period closes Jul 30, 2012. Some of the main goals of the JSR are to separate ELContext into parsing and evaluation contexts, adding operators like equality, string concatenation, etc, and integration with CDI. The section A.7 of the specification highlights the difference between Early Draft and Public Review. Download the Public Review and and follow the updates at el-spec.java.net. For more information about EL 3.0 (JSR 341), check out the JSR project on java.net. • Good practice about Javascript referencing

  I am fighting about a web application script optimization. I have an ASP.NET web app that reference jQuery in the master page, and in every child page can reference other library or JavaScript extension. I would like to optimize the application with YUI for .NET. The question is, I should put all the libraries reference in the master page or to compress all the JavaScript code in a single file, or I should create a file for every page that contains only the code useful to the page? Is there any guidance to follow? Thanks!

• All day optimizer event....

  I've recently taken over some of the responsibilities of Maria Colgan (also known as the "optimizer lady") so she can move onto supporting our new In Memory Database features (note her new twitter handle for that: https://twitter.com/db_inmemory ).To that end, I have two one day Optimizer classes scheduled this year (and more to follow next year!).  The first one will be Wednesday November 20th in Northern California.  You can find details for that here: http://www.nocoug.org/ .The next one will be 5,500 miles (about 8,800 km) away in the UK - in Manchester.  That'll take place immediately following the UKOUG technical conference taking place the first week of December on December 5th.  You can see all of the details for that here: http://www.ukoug.org/events/tom-kyte-seminar-2013/I know I'll be doing one in Belgrade early next year, probably the first week in April. I check with some of the plugins like woocommerce and All in one SEO Plugin in that they are maintaining the proper coding standard. Basically I am Using the NetBeans IDE. Is it possible to make the proper space and coding standards in that IDE. I am Wondering to View his code is very neat and clean. How can i do this or how they are maintaining this. • How to stop programs on starting from returning to log in screen?

  I'm not a computer nerd but have been able to fix Ubuntu/Linux problems in the pass two years with a Google search but this on has me stumped. I upgraded to 12.04 about thirty days ago and all was well except that every time I tried to load KeePassX it would go to the login screen. I installed KeePass2 and all seemed to work. Last week I tried to load Bibble5 (Raw photo editor) and it would try to load and then back to the login screen. After a few days I gave up and downloaded Corel After Shot Pro (Corel's now owns Bibble5) and it has the same problem. Could someone please head me into the steps I need to follow to find out what is the cause. • Subclassing to avoid line length

  The standard line length of code is 80 characters per line. This is accepted and followed by the most of programmers. I working on a state machine of a character and is necessary for me follow this too. I have four classes who pass this limit. I can subclass each class in two more and then avoid the line length limit. class Stand class Walk class Punch class Crouch The new classes would be StandLeft, StandRight and so on. Stand, Walk, Punch and Crouch would be then abstract classes. The question if there is a limit for the long of the hierarchies tree or this is depends of the case.

  This question already has an answer here: Unit testing best practices for a unit testing newbie 4 answers I am beginner in developing test cases, and want to follow good patterns for developing test cases rather than following some person or company's specific ideas. Some people don't make test cases and just develop the way their senior have done in their projects. I am facing lot problems like object dependencies (when want to test method which persist A object i have to first persist B object since A is child of B). Please suggest some good books or sites preferably for learning design pattern for unit test cases. Or reference to some good source code or some discussion for Dos and Donts will do wonder. So that i can avoid doing mistakes be learning from experience of others.

• Better way to do AI Behavior in AS3/Flixel

  I'm making a game in Flixel and I need to program an NPC. It's rapidly turning more complex than I expected. I was wondering if there are any best practices, tutorials or examples that you can refer me to, to see how this is done. I can probably hack it together, which is what I always do, but it would be nice if I can make it maintanable and can add stuff later on. Here's screenshot to give you an idea: The butler will be an NPC that will follow you, or guide you, and talk to you the whole time. EDIT: More specifically: What I have now is a long list of IF statements in the update loop of the butler (about 8 different cases), and all I have covered is his walking behavior. I want him to comment on things and sometimes switch his main behavior to be more aggresive or distant,... Is there any way to keep track of this, or is complex code with many many nested if statements the way to go?

• why not use unmanaged safe code in c#

  There is an option in c# to execute code unchecked. It's generally not advised to do so, as managed code is much safer and it overcomes a lot of problems. However I am wondering, if you're sure your code won't cause errors, and you know how to handle memory then why (if you like fast code) follow the general advice? I am wondering this since I wrote a program for a video camera, which required some extremely fast bitmap manipulation. I made some fast graphical algorithms myself, and they work excellent on the bitmaps using unmanaged code. Now I wonder in general, if you're sure you don't have memory leaks, or risks of crashes, why not use unmanaged code more often ? PS my background: I kinda rolled into this programming world and I work alone (I do so for a few years) and so I hope this software design question isn't that strange. I don't really have other people out there like a teacher to ask such things.

After some research and brain storming I came up with some approaches . Could you point me out which one is the best and any unobvious ill effects of the mentioned approaches. The approaches are as follows Create a single table for whole organisation and store empid,date,presentstatus as a row for every employee everyday. Create a single table for whole organisation and store a single row for each day with a comma delimited string of empids which are absent. I will generate the string on my application. • HDMI audio output problems with Radeon card

  No matter how much advice I follow, I still cannot get any audio to come out through my HDMI connection. I've tried downloading the latest proprietary FGLRX graphics drivers, and I've also gone into /etc/default/grub and altered GRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX_DEFAULT="quiet splash" into this GRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX_DEFAULT="quiet splash radeon.audio=1" But still I cannot get any sound nor can I get HDMI sound output to show up in Sound Settings or Pulse Audio Volume Control. I can get video to show up just fine on my monitor through HDMI so I'm sure this problem is fixable! I know this is an old problem with Ubuntu, but any new strategies into the problem would be much appreciated. With that being said, here are some of my specs: Ubuntu 12.04 LTS AMD Radeon HD 7520G

  This post is a compiled version of Steve Cavanagh's blog post on How To: Spell Check an InfoPath form displayed via XmlFormView. Many are not able to follow Steve's instructions due to lack of details. See below a downloadable zip of all changes need installed for your InfoPath Spell Checker. File Contents: CustomSpellCheckEntirePage.js - This is a customized SpellCheckEntirePage.js which includes changes outlined in Steve's post above.   FormServer.aspx - Note that this will replace the exisitng FormServer.aspx - this file acts like a masterpage for all infopath forms. So this change will add the spellchecker to all infopath forms in the sharepoint farm. Only thing i changed here is to add the 'Spell Check' link before and after the form.   ReadMe.rtf - Contains instructions where to copy the files to in your MOSS WFE server.
