• Sending email with exim and external sender address

• SendMail not working in CentOs 6.4

  I am trying to send e-mails from my CentOS 6.4 but it does not work. My knowledge about servers is quite limited, so I hope someone can help me. Here is what I did: First i tried to send an email using the "mail" command, but it was not in the OS so I installed it. # yum install mailx After that, I tried sending an email using the "mail" command, but it did not send anything. I checked it on the internet and I realized I needed an e-mail server like sendmail, so I installed it. # yum install sendmail sendmail-cf sendmail-doc sendmail-devel After that, I configured it following some tutorials. • Postfix : outgoing mail in TLS for a specific domain

  I am trying to configure postfix to send mail in TLS (starttls in fact), but only for a specific destination. I tried with "smtp_tls_policy_maps". This is the only line in my main.cf file regarding TLS configuration, but it seems not working. • Default sending all mails from the one account on Outlook 2007

  I have two email accounts configured on my outlook 2007. One account is connecting to my exchange server which is the default I have another account connecting to my gmail. I want to by default send or reply all the emails that I receive on my gmail account through my exchange server account only. When I try replying to the email that I receive from the gmail account it gets defaulted to the same (gmail account). I need to manually change it to exchange server account. I want that to be changed to exchange server account by default for all the mails that I send or reply to. I don't want to do the manual process mentioned below in steps: Step 1: In the message window, click Account. Step 2: Click the account that you want to use. Is there a way to set the exchange server account for sending and replying to all emails on outlook irrespective of the number of accounts that I have on outlook. I have my outlook installed on a windows 2003 server.

• Mac Outlook showing all links in smart quotes?

  I was given the task of fixing my friend's email today and really don't know what the problem is. When an email is sent from his laptop (Mac) from Outlook the email address link in the signature shows exactly like this: [email protected]<mailto:[email protected]>. Additionally the website link displays like this: www.website.com<http://www.website.com>. And lastly, the image comes through as cid:randomstringofnumbers. When I sent him an email and he sent one back it converted my signature to same weird formatting. Plus, even in the header where it shows our emails, they are displaying the same way: [email protected]<mailto:[email protected]>. And the weirdest thing is that this problem seems to be "compounding". So when I scroll down to the last, most recent email in the thread I see this www.website.com<http://www.website.com> next email shows this: www.website.com<http://www.website.com><http://www.website.com> and the next this: www.website.com<http://www.website.com><http://www.website.com><http://www.website.com> This is happening to the emails too, everywhere. I'm thinking this might be something to do with smart quotes and the auto formatting but I'm not sure. Could this be the problem? And if so how do I fix it?

  Hi all, The root cause of my problem is not known to me, whatever it is, I experience frequent DNS failures. When it happens I cannot browse to my Gmail inbox. I use two DNS settings. One is the public DNS server offered by OpenDNS, and the other is Google's free DNS server. When this happens I switch from the active setting to the other one and the problem goes away. But there is a side effect to this. When browsing to Gmail fails to load, after switching the DNS I receive an error saying the security certificate the site uses is only valid for OpenDNS. This my wild guess at what is going on: 1. OpenDNS fails to resolve mail.google.com to its IP, 2. My ISP sends me a page showing search results for 'mail.google.com' 3. Since I have received some sort of page instead of a timeout, the browser, mistakenly, binds the certificate it has cached for 'mail.google.com' to the new domain. This search page is not served by https so not exception is thrown by the wrong binding 4. After switching the DNS, the domain is correctly resolved to Gmail server's IP and since his is on https the handshake is triggered. 5. Now, because of the wrong binding, which passed quietly as no handshake was involved, I receive the error saying the certificate used by 'mail.google.com' is only good for openDNS I don't know much about DNS, less about https and the process of establishing a secure connection. How correct is my explanation? How can I delete the wrong association and/or the certificate? Thanks for listening. P. S. The problem goes away by itself, but sometimes it takes several hours before Gmail works again.

• Decompiling a *.DLL to assembly for .net in delphi 4

  I love my Delphi 4 but at the same time I see the need to talk to windows .net This is a recompiled dll that I found on sourceforge.net/projects/delphinet/ (DelphiNet03.zip) by some nice people that fund the dll from some were. The real answer is to make this dll so that fits into Delphi as true Delphi code, and not a dll clip on. So we can make objects that use dot net in Delphi. Because I’m not an assembly freak, I’m freaking out a little with a wee sweek for help! 1/ How do I link the asm code with the data info at the bottom of this code. Can some one show me which calls to look for to make this link to data. 2/ I need to find the beginning of all the procedures and functions, but I cannot find a ‘RET’ statement. • Google Talk chat status permanently available

  I logged into google talk from the blackberry talk application and it set the status as available. Now google talk shows me as being permanently available even though I have logged out of every possible place I can think of (including the phone). I have used the gmail feature that allows one to log out of all other locations. I have logged out and uninstalled the blackberry app. Showing status as online isn't such a problem if the chats weren't being eaten by this unknown app as well. I primarily use google chat from gmail, so if there is a way to get my chat requests properly routed to the gmail window, please let me know.

• How to clear stuck locked maildrop pop3 process

  I am using cyrus for imap and pop One of my users is getting the following error: Unable to lock maildrop : Mailbox is locked by POP server. I can see where it starts in the log. I've read that there is no physical lock file anymore (i've tried looking for it anyways) and that the solution is to just wait for the timeout, or kill the offending pop3 process. I know that this is happening because of a lossy connection on the part of the affected user, and that pop3 can only have 1 session active at a time. I need to manually clear the lock and I am having trouble finding the offending pop process. I have tried lsof, but it doesn't say how long the individual files (sockets) have been opened for. I've reduced the tcp keepalive time down to 5 mins, but I still need to reset this guy's lock. I could use some pointers. Thanks!

Right now I use Zerigo's awesome DNS services. How can I get [email protected] forwarded to my Gmail account? Better yet if this is a free/cheap solution and can work with multiple aliases going to different real email addresses ([email protected] - [email protected], [email protected] - [email protected]) [1] Long story. I alternate between "Sorry, you've reached a login page for a domain that isn't using Google Apps." and "This domain has already been registered with Google Apps." Seems like many others are having this issue and Google isn't doing anything about it.

  I am having a hard time making the email sending in GitLab to work (changing email in profile settings). My server has exim4, I can tell its working because if I do simple mail() in PHP, it thus sends the email to the recipient. Now, in GitLab seems that it wasn't. So I modified productions.rb to have SMTP settings, and use Google SMTP: config.action_mailer.delivery_method = :smtp config.action_mailer.smtp_settings = { address: "smtp.gmail.com", port: 465, user_name: "[email protected]", password: "hashpassword", domain: "gmail.com", authentication: :plain, enable_starttls_auto: true } I even tried changing the port to 587 and 467 but still it doesn't work. I also sent a few test emails to ensure that it actually works and it seems fine. But then I discovered this article talking about changing the SPF record for the domain. http://www.google.com/support/a/bin/answer.py?answer=178723 After reading the introduction I think it would be better for me to change the SPF record according to this article. So I logged in to the DirectAdmin and navigated to the DNS management, and then I found that there's already a TXT SPF record there: v=spf1 a mx a:spf.cabin.com.hk include:gmail.com -all And it looks like it's already including gmail.com, but according to the article it should be: _spf.google.com rather than: gmail.com I dare not to change it before I understand what this record actually means. What would you do with this record if you were me?

• Weird (?) issue with Exchange Forwarding

  Hello everyone. Here is the long and short of it: the company I work for was purchased by another company who uses Gmail for domains as their email provider. We use an in house Exchange box. No big deal, I dropped into Active Directoy and created several Contact objects that represented our new email addresses at Gmail. I then went through each employees record and have their mail set to forward to this new address and not deliver locally. So I am forwarding email for me@domain1 to me@domain2 and this works great as long as I don't send an email from me@domain2 to me@domain1. If I log into my personal Gmail account and send an email to me@domain1 the email is properly forwarded to me@domain2. The mail coming from me@domain2 to me@domain1 seems to just get lost in the ether. Have I done something wrong or is this a quark with Exchange? Thanks!

I've achieved this by writing a python script which does this: Send a message with a unique hash through my mail server to [email protected] The gmail account is configured to auto-reply back to the same address and then delete the message. My script polls IMAP until it finds an email with the correct hash sitting in its inbox, or times out. It reports the elapsed time to my monitoring software (Zabbix) My question: Is gmail the best third-party to use? Should I add a couple others as well such as hotmail and yahoo? Is there anyone more official that will auto-reply to these sorts of "mail pings"? Any other recommendations for this type of test?

  Hi all, I asked a question regarding email delays a few months ago, and I think I found a workaround. I changed our email from "[email protected]" to "[email protected]", and it seems to work instantly again. After reading some articles, I believe this could be due to some form of greylisting, though some servers might call it something else -- if a server like yahoo or gmail receive email from a server that it is not used to receiving email from, then sometimes the delay occurs. But a name such as yahoo, gmail, which requires a user to sign up manually -- this delay can be avoided. My question is this: does anyone know more about this issue -- especially since it would be nice to send an email from our own site, instead of needing to use a whitelisted server? Thanks!

However, I now need to verify a recipient list, which means I need to get every single email that goes out on a particular test run. • Clarify git stash for me in switching branches

  I've been working on branch A. My work there is not finished, but I need to switch to branch B for a while. It looks like stash is the command to use. I've found a number of references showing how to use stash to save your changes, but I'm a bit confused. All of the references say something like, when you're ready to go back, just do git stash pop. They don't, however, tell me if I need to switch back to branch A before doing that, though. So, do I manually go back to branch A before running stash pop, or do I stay in branch B, and the actual act of running stash pop will send me back to branch A where I left off with it?
