  • Making a query result equal to zero when a condition is null

    Hello, I believe the query below should work. However, when I run it, the results are blank. I think this is happening since for now, the table "comment" is empty. So there is no instance where s.submissionid = c.submissionid. I would like to have the query below to work even if there if no s.submissionid that equals a c.submissionid. In this case, I would like countComments to equal zero. How can I do this?   • Foreach loop returning null values in PHP?

    Hello, I have a pretty simple problem. Basically I have an array called $list that is a list of titles. If I do a print_r($list) I get these results: Array ( [0] => Another New Title [1] => Awesome Movies and stuff [2] => Jascha's Title ) Now, I'm running a foreach loop to retrieve their values and format them in an <ul> like so... function get_film_list(){ global $categories; $list = $categories->get_film_list(); if(count($list)==0){ echo 'No films are in this category'; }else{ echo '<ul>'; foreach($list as $title){ echo '<li>' . $title . '<li>'; } echo '</ul>'; } } The problem I'm having is my loop is returning two values per value (is it the key value?) The result of the preceding function looks like this: Another New Title   Awesome Movies and stuff   Jascha's Title   I even tried: foreach($list as $key => $title){ echo '<li>' . $title . The data from the sensor will be saved together with a GPS Point, so the Value is only needed when the GPS Point is updated. If i use the attached Code the values is always zero.     Linux's stddef.h defines offsetof() as: #define offsetof(TYPE, MEMBER) ((size_t) &((TYPE *)0)->MEMBER) whereas the Wikipedia article on offsetof() (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Offsetof) defines it as: #define offsetof(st, m) \ ((size_t) ( (char *)&((st *)(0))->m - (char *)0 )) Why subtract (char *)0 in the Wikipedia version? Is there any case where that would actually make a difference?

  • GraphicsDevice is null in my XNA Windows Game project

    Hello All, I have just started trying to make a simple game with XNA 3.1 to help myself learn C# and XNA. I have run into a bit of an interesting problem, however. In all of the tutorials, one is supposed to pass GraphicsDevice when instantiating a new spriteBatch object like this: spriteBatch = new SpriteBatch(GraphicsDevice); One might even do this: GraphicsDevice objGraphics = new graphics.GraphicsDevice; spriteBatch = new SpriteBatch(objGraphics); where graphics is the GraphicsDeviceManager. However, no matter which version I try, I always get an ArgumentNullException when I try to pass the GraphicsDevice object to spriteBatch's constructor. Almost every tutorial I have found gives the first one and only one mentioned the second option. Has anyone else run into a similar error or know what could be causing this? I am working in Windows 7 x64 with Visual Studio 2008.

    I am trying to do positioning in JavaScript. I am using a cumulative position function based on the classic quirksmode function that sums offsetTop and offsetLeft for each offsetParent until the top node. However, I am running into an issue where the element I'm interested in has no offsetParent in Firefox. In IE offsetParent exists, but offsetTop and offsetLeft all sum up to 0, so it has the same problem in effect as in Firefox. What would cause an element that is clearly visible and usable on the screen to not have an offsetParent? Or, more practically, how can I find the position of this element in order to place a drop-down beneath it?

  • Core Data Null Relationship

    I have a to-one relationship in my data model with Core Data. I'm trying to set the value of the relationship but Core Data keeps thinking that it's nil. The "creatorUser" relationship is not optional, so when I go to save my managed object context, Core Data gives errors because it thinks the "creatorUser" is nil. Any help would be greatly advised.     What is the best way to detect if a jQuery-selector returns an empty object. If you do: alert($('#notAnElement')); you get [object Object], so the way I do it now is: alert($('#notAnElement').get(0)); which will write "undefined", and so you can do a check for that. But it seems very bad. What other way is there?

    Hi, I got a master page with a server control in it. Randomly the server control is inaccessible from codebehind. This doesn't happen on a specific action (eg a Button click or so). Currently I have no clue what this could be. I don't think it's output caching since this is not explcitly activated and the error happens far to seldom for that. But I'm going to disable caching in the master page explicitly with next deployment. Anyone an idea how to find more info to find what's happening? Or has someone had a similar error? Thanks. sa

    I have a very basic AJAX function in JQuery: $.ajax({ url: "http://www.google.com", dataType: "html", success: function(data) { alert(data); } }); But the data is always an empty string, no matter what url I go to... Why is that? I am running this locally at http://localhost:3000, and am using JQuery 1.4.2. If I make a local response, however, like this: $.ajax({ url: "http://localhost:3000/test", dataType: "html", success: function(data) { alert(data); } }); ...it returns the html page at that address. What am I missing here?

    Hi I am not sure why I am having this problem, maybe I am using the check_box_tag incorrectly. I have a form that is used to send an email message. You are supposed to be able to choose one or more boxes that represent different groups of people. <%= check_box_tag (:bcc_email, value = @spouses) %> <%= f.label :bcc_email, "Company Spouses" %><br /> <%= check_box_tag (:bcc_email, value = @soldiers) %> <%= f.label :bcc_email, "Company Soldiers" %><br /> The values are an array of email addresses. Those work fine, I have had them functioning as drop down menus for sometime. When I look at the HTML page source the values are there, they are just not being passed along with the create method. Any ideas?

I simply tried to type service address but it didn't fix anything.

However, in Chrome the first alert returns 0 and the second returns the empty string. My intent is to grab a web page into a string for processing. If I'm not doing this right, how should I be doing this? Thanks.
