• New MOS Community: Oracle Endeca Information Discovery

  Effective November 22, the Oracle Endeca Community has been split into separate communities representing individual Oracle Endeca products. The Oracle Endeca Information Discovery Community will fall under the Business Intelligence (BI) category, and can be found here: https://communities.oracle.com/portal/server.pt/community/oracle_endeca_information_discovery/551. This community will focus on the Oracle Endeca Information Discovery (OEID) product, formerly known as Endeca Latitude and Endeca Discovery Framework. The previous Oracle Endeca Community has been renamed to Oracle Endeca Guided Search Community and will focus on discussions around the Oracle Endeca Guided Search product, formerly known as Endeca Infront and Endeca IAP. The Guided Search Community will continue to be located under the Oracle Commerce Category. Forum threads in the previous Oracle Endeca Community related to Oracle Endeca Information Discovery product have been moved to the new Oracle Endeca Information Discovery Community. • Lag compensation of projectile shooting game

  I'm thinking about an algorithm for firing projectiles with lag compensation. Now I did find only one descent solution: Player hits fire button. Client sends input "fire". Client waits for server response. Server generates bullet then sends response to client. Client recieves response and finally fires projectile. Is this solution only "trueway"? I find it the only one that can be fair to all of the clients. Valve in this case, doesn't compensate lag from rocket shots. I am feeling that I will not compensate it, too. I think that with today's bandwidth I can close my eyes on this problem, because I don't see any solutions with fair logic. What do you think?

• Oracle Exalogic X3-2 Installation and Maintenance Training (from OU)

  Many of the Exadata partners in our community are also architecting and servicing Exalogic-based solution. The following training is open to partners and will be of interest. This course introduces the Oracle Exalogic Elastic Cloud X3-2 including new functions and features. It discusses the architecture and components of the server and where they are located in the chassis. The students will learn how to install and configure the Oracle Exalogic Elastic Cloud as well as upgrade its firmware. The course will cover maintaining and servicing field replaceable units (FRU) as well as performing hands-on hardware procedures.  This course is mandatory for all Oracle Partners that wish to become certified to perform Exalogic system installations. • Oracle Streamlines Tracking of Global Carbon Footprint and Greenhouse Gas Emissions

  Oracle has automated its global carbon footprint and greenhouse gas emissions measurement using Oracle Environmental Accounting and Reporting. By using this solution, Oracle was able to increase organizational efficiency and reduce the need for labor intensive, manual processes in the tracking of greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions for both voluntary and legislated environmental reporting. The move to Oracle Environmental Accounting and Reporting enables Oracle to more effectively meet both internal and governmental reporting needs, while addressing the associated economic mandates for reporting emissions and sustainability efforts. Organizations across the company can now record environmental data such as energy consumed or energy generated at facilities or locations within the enterprise, and can automatically calculate corresponding GHG emissions resulting from the use of emission sources. In addition, Oracle Environmental Accounting and Reporting includes data integration from multiple applications to ensure proper representation and calculation of emissions across the globe. The result is access to fast, accurate data and reporting to help the company meet its sustainability goals.
