  • How to work with images(png's) of size 2-4Mb.

    I am working with images of size 2 to 4MB. I want to edit image of resolution 1200x1600. performing scaling, traslation and rotation operations. I want to another images on that and saving it to photo album. My app is crashing(giving memory warning) after i successfully edit one image and save to album. I have releasing some images when i get memory warning. But still it crashes as i am working with 2 images of size 3MB each and context of size 1200x1600 and getting a image from the context at the same time. Is there any way to compress images and work with it by performing scaling, traslation and rotation operations?

  • jQuery: How do I insert an html string an arbitrary number of times (i.e. not with an each() function)?

    I just need to take a certain html query object and append it to an html element a lot of times. I have this: var box = $("<div class='box'>&nbsp</div>"); $("#firstbox").after(box); and it works fine, but it just adds one 'box' after the #firstbox element. I'd like to do something like this: var box = $("<div class='box'>&nbsp</div>"); $("#firstbox").after(box * 6000); so that it will insert 6000 copies of that 'box' html, but this is not working. This is I'm sure the easiest thing to do, but I can't seem to find how to multiply actions like this without using the each() function, which doesn't apply here because I don't have 6000 of anything on my page. Thanks.

    recently I created a java class " Custom Layout Manager ", which I want to make it open-source and distribute it. So it's not really a "product", nor a "complete program". Here's the list of permissions and specifications: You are free to use and modify with some limitations (packages and classes names, should remain the same, if you want another name, extend this class. - The .jar file, project name is ok to change). You don't need to share your modifications. You can't modify and then sell it to others. You can use it as part of your commercial software (For example: It's OK if: you created an instant messaging program, that uses my "Layout", since your "core bussiness" isn't the "Layout", but the msg program. It's NOT OK if: you created another "Layout" by extending it, added some features and sell it.) You can't remove the author's name nor the author's website address. You are free to donate. :D Basically, it's free and it's Ok as you give me credits and don't make money with it. I guess it might be a little bit complex, since you use it "commercially" but cannot sell it separately. I have seeked almost all the licenses, and the closest one was MIT license, but it says that you can sell it, so I don't really want to use this one. Is there any license that fits all these permissions I stated? Thanks.

  • Rails: attribute_changed?

    I have a model that has an amount and I'm tracking to see if this amount is changed with a Model.amount_changed? with a before_save which works fine but when I check to see amount_was and amount_change? it only returns the updated amount not the previous amount. And all this is happening before it is save. It knows when the attribute is changed but it will not return the old value. Ideas?

  • rails restful select_tag with :on_change

    So I'm finally starting to use rest in rails. I want to have a select_tag with product categories and when one of the categories is selected I want it to update the products on change. I did this before with <% form_for :category, :url => { :action => "show" } do |f| %> <%= select_tag :id, options_from_collection_for_select(Category.find(:all), :id, :name), { :onchange => "this.form.submit();"} %> <% end %> however now it doesn't work because it tries to do the show action. I have two controllers 1) products 2) product_categories products belongs_to product_categories with a has_many How should I do this. Since the products are listed on the products controller and index action should I use the products controller or should I use the product_categories controller to find the category such as in the show action and then render the product/index page. But the real problem I have is how to get this form or any other option to work with restful routes.

  • Looking for another regex explanation

    In my regex expression, I was trying to match a password between 8 and 16 character, with at least 2 of each of the following: lowercase letters, capital letters, and digits. In my expression I have: ^((?=.*\d)(?=.*[a-z])(?=.*[A-Z])(?=.*\d)(?=.*[a-z])(?=.*[A-Z]).{8,16})$ But I don't understand why it wouldn't work like this: ^((?=\d)(?=[a-z])(?=[A-Z])(?=\d)(?=[a-z])(?=[A-Z]){8,16})$ Doesnt ".*" just meant "zero or more of any character"? So why would I need that if I'm just checking for specific conditions? And why did I need the period before the curly braces defining the limit of the password? And one more thing, I don't understand what it means to "not consume any of the string" in reference to "?=".

  • Fast way to get a list of group members in Active Directory with C#

    In a web app, we're looking to display a list of sam accounts for users that are a member of a certain group. Groups could have 500 or more members in many cases and we need the page to be responsive. With a group of about 500 members it takes 7-8 seconds to get a list of sam accounts for all members of the group. Are there faster ways? I know the Active Directory Management Console does it in under a second.     I'm starting to use Role Management in my website, and I'm current following along on the tutorial from http://www.asp.net/Learn/Security/tutorial-02-vb.aspx . I'm having a problem with the asp:LoginStatus control. It is not telling me that I am currently logged in after a successful login. This can't be true because after successfully logging in, my LoggedInTemplate is shown. The username and passwords are simply stored in a array. Heres the Login.aspx page code. Protected Sub btnLogin_Click(ByVal sender As Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) _ Handles btnLogin.Click ' Three valid username/password pairs: Scott/password, Jisun/password, and Sam/password.     hi, i am a php beginner and have a question for you please. i have a text file with list of first and last names like this: john,smith sam,lewis david,davidson mike,anderson in my sort.php file, it sorts that name list by first name in ascending order with index number, which will display like this: 1. david,davidson 2. john,smith 3. mike,anderson 4. sam,lewis also, in that sort.php file, there's a form for input type=text where you can type index number and a button to delete that index number entered in that text field: <form action="deletename.php" method="post"> <table> <tr valign="top"> <td>Delete: <input type="text" size="2" name="indexnumber" /> </td> <td> <div align="left"> <input type="submit" name="delete" value="Delete" /> </div> </td> </tr> </table> </form> now the question...is there anything i can do in that form to send the value of that index number i entered in the text field? in other word...if i enter 3, what can i do to that form to send the value "mike,anderson" to deletename.php? thanks in advance.

    Im having some trouble with joining two tables. This is what my two tables look like: Table 1 Customer_ID CustomerName Add. 1000 John Smith 1001 Mike Coles 1002 Sam Carter Table 2 Sensor_ID Location Temp CustIDFK 1000 NY 70 1002 NY 70 1000 ... ... 1001 1001 1002 Desired: Sensor_ID Location Temp CustIDFK 1000 NY 70 John Smith 1002 NY 70 Sam Carter 1000 ... ... John Smith 1001 Mike Coles 1001 1002 I have made Customer_ID from table 1 my primary key, created custIDFK in table 2 and set that as my foreign key. I am really new to sql server so I am still having trouble with the whole relationship piece of it. My goal is to match one customer_ID with one Sensor_ID. The problem is that the table 2 does not have "unique IDs" since they repeat so I cant set that to my foreign key. I know I will have to do either an inner join or outer join, I just dont know how to link the sensor id with customer one. I was thinking of giving my sensor_ID a unique ID but the data that is being inserted into table 2 is coming from another program. Any suggestions?

  • How do I strip multiple (optional) parts of a SQL string using .NET Regular Expressions?

    I've been working on this for a few hours now and can't find any help on it. Basically, I'm trying to strip a SQL string into various parts (fields, from, where, having, groupBy, orderBy). I refuse to believe that I'm the first person to ever try to do this, so I'd like to ask for some advise from the StackOverflow community. :) To understand what I need, assume the following SQL string: select * from table1 inner join table2 on table1.id = table2.id where field1 = 'sam' having table1.field3 > 0 group by table1.field4 order by table1.field5 I created a regular expression to group the parts accordingly: select\s+(?<fields>.+)\s+from\s+(?<from>.+)\s+where\s+(?<where>.+)\s+having\s+(?<having>.+)\s+group\sby\s+(?<groupby>.+)\s+order\sby\s+(?<orderby>.+) This gives me the following results: fields => * from => table1 inner join table2 on table1.id = table2.id where => field1 = 'sam' having => table1.field3 > 0 groupby => table1.field4 orderby => table1.field5 The problem that I'm faced with is that if any part of the SQL string is missing after the 'from' clause, the regular expression doesn't match. To fix that, I've tried putting each optional part in it's own (...)? group but that doesn't work. It simply put all the optional parts (where, having, groupBy, and orderBy) into the 'from' group. Any ideas?
