  • can't open Evolution mail in Ubuntu

    I have an issue with Evolution mail in Ubuntu. Evolution opens up, starts downloading emails asoon as I click on something in Evolution it closes down, I know there are about 2000 mails that need to be downloaded. And sometimes Evolution comes back again and if I click something in evolution it disappears again. I'm running Ubuntu 9.10. This happened since I added two extra email accounts? Any suggestions will be highly appreciated. Thx

  • TPROXY Not working with HAProxy, Ubuntu 14.04

    I'm trying to use HAProxy as a fully transparent proxy using TPROXY in Ubuntu 14.04. HAProxy will be setup on the first server with eth1 111.111.250.250 and eth0 10.111.128.134. The single balanced server has eth1 and eth0 as well. eth1 is the public facing network interface while eth0 is for the private network which both servers are in. Problem: I'm able to connect to the balanced server's port 1234 directly (via eth1) but am not able to reach the balanced server via Haproxy port 1234 (which redirects to 1234 via eth0). Am I missing out something in this configuration?     I'm running apache with a worker MPM and php with fastcgi. the following are my mpm limits: StartServers 5 MinSpareThreads 5 MaxSpareThreads 10 ThreadLimit 64 ThreadsPerChild 10 MaxClients 10 MaxRequestsPerChild 2000 I've also setup my php-cgi with the following: PHP_FCGI_CHILDREN=5 PHP_FCGI_MAX_REQUESTS=500 I'm noticing that my average php-cgi process is using around 200+mb of RAM, even as soon as they are started. However, my php memory_limit is only 128M. How is this possible, and what can I do to lower the php-cgi memory consumption?

  • What to do with old OS install media?

  • Why are there hard faults when my RAM is not 100% used?

    I've got 2GB of RAM and the resource monitor shows that it's only used about 75%. However there are some apps (NetBeans, Visual Studio) that every once in a while start making a lot of hard faults (up to and over 2000/min), thus predictably slowing down to a crawl. How is this so? The memory usage during these "fits" doesn't change. Perhaps it also includes memory mapped files or something?

  • Getting Squid to authenticate with kerberos and Windows 2008/2003/7/XP

    This is something I setup recently and was quite a big pain. My environment was getting squid to authenticate a Windows 7 client against a Windows 2008 Server invisibly. NTLM is not really an option, as using it requires a registry change on each client. MS have been recommending Kerberos since Windows 2000, so it's finally time to get with the program. Many, many thanks to Markus Moeller of the Squid mailing lists for helping to get this working.

    I'm migrating from libpam-ldap to libpam-ldapd. I'm having some trouble gathering the secondary groups from LDAP. On libpam-ldap, I had this on the /etc/ldap.conf file: nss_schema rfc2307bis nss_base_passwd ou=People,ou=CITIUS,dc=inv,dc=usc,dc=es nss_base_shadow ou=People,ou=CITIUS,dc=inv,dc=usc,dc=es nss_base_group ou=Groups,ou=CITIUS,dc=inv,dc=usc,dc=es nss_map_attribute uniqueMember member The mapping is there because I'm using groupOfNames instead of groupOfUniqueNames LDAP class for groups, so the attribute naming the members is named member instead of uniqueMember.     Does anyone know where I can get windows images for vmware. I know Microsoft gives away the images for Virtual PC. These images work pretty well, but when I try to import them in VMware I need to activate the copies again, because the virtual hardware they use is just to different. I want Images of different versions of windows 2000, xp, vista. Does anyone where I can download them, or do I need to build them from CD.
