  • Flex 4 app with mate design question

    Hi all, I have a view with a DropDownList component and a DataGroup component. The dropdownlist has to be updated from a remote php object and on change to call another remote object service in order to update the datagroup's provider. So I am thinks to dispatch an event from my view and the in my EventMap to call the service and inject the result to the drop down. When the dropdown changes I'll dispatch another event and in the EventMap I'll call another service and I'll inject the result to the datagroup. Is there another more sophisticated way?   • Umbrella websites with Microsites & Blogs - recommendations

    Hi guys, I'm in the process of scoping a solution for an events organisation. Their main website features information about them and blog entries etc, but they hold major events which require microsites (domain.com/event). The microsites all have a different look-and-feel, different nav structure, and custom content-managed components. The one thing that's common across everything is the blog - it will have a category for each event under which users can post. How would you guys implement this? The solution needs to be PHP, and my initial thought was CodeIgniter but if possible I'd like to avoid building the blog functionality - so I guess I could integrate it with EE or Wordpress. If anyone has any other suggestions they would be most appreciated.

  • Selecting the contents of an ASP.NET TextBox in an UpdatePanel after a partial page postback

    I am having problems selecting the text within a TextBox in an UpdatePanel. Consider a very simple page that contains a single UpdatePanel. Within that UpdatePanel there are two Web controls: A DropDownList with three statically-defined list items, whose AutoPostBack property is set to True, and A TextBox Web control The DropDownList has a server-side event handler for its SelectedIndexChanged event, and in that event handler there's two lines of code: TextBox1.Text = "Whatever"; ScriptManager.RegisterStartupScript(this, this.GetType(), "Select-" + TextBox1.ClientID, string.Format("document.getElementById('{0}').select();", TextBox1.ClientID), true); The idea is that whenever a user chooses and item from the DropDownList there is a partial page postback, at which point the TextBox's Text property is set and selected (via the injected JavaScript). Unfortunately, this doesn't work as-is. (I have also tried putting the script in the pageLoad function with no luck, as in: ScriptManager.RegisterStartupScript(..., "function pageLoad() { ... my script ... }");) What happens is the code runs, but something else on the page receives focus at the conclusion of the partial page postback, causing the TextBox's text to be unselected. I can "fix" this by using JavaScript's setTimeout to delay the execution of my JavaScript code. For instance, if I update the emitted JavaScript to the following: setTimeout("document.getElementById('{0}').select();", 111); It "works." I put works in quotes because it works for this simple page on my computer. In a more complex page on a slower computer with more markup getting passed between the client and server on the partial page postback, I have to up the timeout to over a second to get it to work. I would hope that there is a more foolproof way to achieve this. Rather than saying, "Delay for X milliseconds," it would be ideal to say, "Run this when you're not going to steal the focus." What's perplexing is that the .Focus() method works beautifully. That is, if I scrap my JavaScript and replace it with a call to TextBox1.Focus(); then the TextBox receives focus (although the text is not selected). I've examined the contents of MicrosoftAjaxWebForms.js and see that the focus is set after the registered scripts run, but I'm my JavaScript skills are not strong enough to decode what all is happening here and why the selected text is unselected between the time it is selected and the end of the partial page postback. I've also tried using Firebug's JavaScript debugger and see that when my script runs the TextBox's text is selected. As I continue to step through it the text remains selected, but then after stepping off the last line of script (apparently) it all of the sudden gets unselected. Any ideas? I am pulling my hair out.   • Google Map Overlay Icon disappears at certain zoom level

    I notice that Firefox 3 demonstrates this problem. I put down an overlay icon and play around with the map zoom. At certain zoom level, I found that the icon disappears for some unknown reason. Zooming out brings back the icon. Or during the disappearance, I click on the Google Map and it will somehow trigger to bring back the icon. I suspect it has something to do with the event triggering. Internet Explorer doesn't demonstrate the same problem though. Any advice? Like how to trigger update event on Firefox?

  • PHP Linefeeds (\n) Not Working

    For some reason I can't use \n to create a linefeed when outputting to a file with PHP. It just writes "\n" to the file. I've tried using "\\n" as well, where it just writes "\n" (as expected). But I can't for the life of me figure out why adding \n to my strings isn't creating new lines. I've also tried \r\n but it just appends "\r\n" to the line in the file. Example: error_log('test\n', 3, 'error.log'); error_log('test2\n', 3, 'error.log'); Outputs: test\ntest2\n Using MAMP on OSX in case that matters (some sort of PHP config thing maybe?). Any suggestions?

  • Git: removing selected commits from repository

    I would like to remove selected commits from a linear commit tree, so that the commits do not show in the commit log. My commit tree looks something like: R--A--B--C--D--E--HEAD I would like to remove the B and C commits. So that they do not show in the commit log, but changes from A to D should be preserved. Maybe by introducing a single commit, so that B and C become BC and the tree looks like. R--A--BC--D--E--HEAD Or, ideally, after A comes D directly. D' representing changes from A to B, B to C and C to D. R--A--D'--E--HEAD Is this possible? if yes, how? Some notes that might be helpful: This is a fairly new project so has no branches as of now, hence no merges as well. Side note: It's a personal project, so no, I'm not trying to destroy any evidence :)

  • What are the steps for making domain-neutral assemblies?

    ...and can those steps also be applied to a 3rd party assembly (that might already be strong-named)? The context for my question should not be important, but I'll share anyway: I'm thinking of making a logger (or log-wrapper) that always knows what "log source" to target, regardless of whether the assemblies using it are in one appdomain, or spread across several appdomains. I think one way to achieve that, is to have a domain-neutral assembly with a static "LogSource" property. If that static property is set in a domain-neutral assembly, I think all appdomains will see it.

  • Optimal way to generate list of PHP object properties with delimiter character, implode()?

    I am trying to find out if there is a more optimal way for creating a list of an object's sub object's properties. (Apologies for the crude wording, I am not really much of an OO expert) I have an object "event" that has a collection of "artists", each artist having an "artist_name". On my HTML output, I want a plain list of artist names delimited by a comma. PHP's implode() seems to be the best way to create a comma delimited list of values. I am currently iterating through the object and push values in a temporary array "artistlist" so I can use implode(). That is the shortest I could come up with.   • Flex 3.0 Drag and Drop

    Hi all! I have encountered a problem in a Flex application. I have implemented drag and drop support from a List to a Canvas, and I DragManagers doDrag() - with.a proxy-image. In my custom DragDrop event handler, i place a new item on the Canvas. I use the event.localX/localY to position the new item. It is working ok, but the problem is that I want the "new" image to appear exactly where the proxy-image is when i release the mouse button (x/y -wise). Can I somehow get the proxys X,Y location. I thought that DragManager would have a reference to it but I can´t find it. Thanks /C

  • breakpoint inside QComboBox subclass not working

    I have subclassed QComboBox to customize it for special needs. The subclass is used to promote QComboBoxes in a ui file from QtDesigner. Everything works except that when I put a break point in a slot, the program does not stop at the breakpoint. I do however know that it is being called from the result it generates. I checked other slots in my program and they work fine with breakpoints. Doing a clean and rebuild all did not fix it. What could be causing this and is there anything I can do about it? The slot in question is the only one in the subclass and is called "do_indexChanged()". You can find the slot on line 37 of the class header below and the signal-slot connection on line 10 of the class source file.   • how do i use MySql ENUM type? (and is it right for a news feed)

    I'm creating a table called news_feed, this will log all the actions a user performs. Lets say I want to store user1234 deleted article412 at midday I then need a table like so timestamp | user_id | subject_type | subject_id | method . there would be 5 potential methods to log, methods = add/edit/delete/update/report and lets say 2 possible subject_type subjects = article/comment I know i could make my own key where 0=add, 1=delete etc etc but this would make my queries cumbersome to use/write as i'd need to keep consulting the key. Is there a MySql type which can read lots of identially values quickly? is this ENUM? how do i use it?!!

  • Disable Eventlogging for some events using Healthmonitoring

    I'm using basic healthmonitoring in an ASP.Net website. I'd like to prevent one event with a specific eventcode to appear in the eventlog. All other errors should be logged accordingly. I'd like to accomplish this using plain web.config settings. However I am unable to get it to work. Besides that, using IIS 5 on Windows XP does not write any events to the event log. I can't seem to find out what's wrong, on Windows 2003 it correctly logs the errors. Does anybody have an idea?

(currently i auto log off using Lastaccesstime field in My user table (database) and compare lastaccesstime with current time for every page loads, I do not think this is right way.) is their any way to achieve?   • Disabling FileSystemWatcher for specific updates?

    Does anyone have any ideas how I can reliably disable a FileSystemWatcher object when my application makes changes to the files in the directory, so that I am only watching for external changes to the directory? I've tried setting EnableRaisingEvents to false immediately before performing a write and setting it back to true immediately after, but it seems this method is not reliable, and occasionally I still get the event firing. The only other thing I can think of is to wait a small amount of time after performing the write to let the OS finish up the modification of the directory before re-enabling the FSW, but that seems hackish and I don't like it. To add to the problem, the directory consists of potentially many files, the identities of which are beyond my knowledge and control, so I can't just wait for the event to fire for a specific file and then ignore it. There could be any number of FSW events firing after a single modification (because of the potentially many files getting updated).

There seems to be plenty of tutorials online of how to move, resize, etc. the NativeWindow, but I simply want access to the NativeWindow's HTML content. For example, how would I add a new paragraph to that page? I've tried the following: newHtmlLoader.window.opener = window; var doc = newHtmlLoader.window.opener.document.documentElement; Using AIR's Introspector console, ....log(doc) returns [object HTMLHtmlElement]. Hmm, seems promising right? I then go on to try: var p = document.createElement('p'); var t = document.createTextNode('Insert Me'); p.appendChild(t); doc.appendChild(p); ...but nothing gets inserted. I've also tried the following replacements for doc: var doc = newHtmlLoader.window.opener.document.body; // .log(doc) -> [object HTMLBodyElement] var doc = newHtmlLoader.window.opener.document; // .log(doc) -> Error: HIERARCHY_REQUEST_ERR: DOM Exception 3 ...as well as the following with jQuery: $(doc).append('<p>Insert Me</p>'); // again, nothing So, anyone had any experience in accessing a NativeWindow's inner content programmatically? Any help will be greatly appreciated.
