  I have been trying to get Ruby on Rails to migrate a database for the good part of today, the problems all seem to result with this issue, can someone please help! If its a radrails specific problem I guess Ill take this to their forums. Something is telling me this is an easy fix. >rake db:migrate (in C:/Users/Thomas/My Documents/Aptana RadRails Workspace/rp) !!! The bundled mysql.rb driver has been removed from Rails 2.2. • iPhone provisioning profile suddenly stops working (not expired)

  Hey there! We have a couple of iPhones in our office. All of them have provisioning profiles installed on them. One of the phones (my bosses :S) all of a sudden won't allow me to install apps to it, complaining that a valid provisioning profile cannot be found. The profile isn't expired, and the problem is, I'm guessing, not with the XCode files, as I can install the same project to all the other phones. Does anyone know why this might have occurred or how I can fix this? Thanks! Tristan

  Dear Stackoverflowers, A simple link would be nice for me to understand how to install my C++ program as a deamon in UNIX, now i know some will say this should be on SERVERFAULT but as far as i understand it i need the init.d shell script to actually create the start and stop for the daemons. But if you guys can show me a simple shell script for the daemon and the file directories every thing required is associated with, that would be great. I was going to do this http://www.linux.com/archive/feed/46892 but if you read the comments every one is moaning x( . P.S. ive already done the required code for C++ to run as a daemon i just need to know how to actually install it as a daemon. At the moment im using crontab which is just not a good idea for the future of my problem. Thanks in advance

• How to get httrack to work with SSL on mac os x? (libssl.so not found)

  I'm trying to use httrack website copier but the program is running and reporting "no-ssl" (ie: it does not have the capability to copy secure sites). From looking over this thread, it seems that the problem is either when I make & configure the program, or when I run the program, it is not finding the lib-ssl / open-ssl that I have installed. I think it is looking for /var/root/lib/libssl.so.1.0 The user on that forum states that he created a symlink which allowed httrack to find the ssl library in the non-default location. Perhaps that's what I need to do - but where do I create the link from and to? I'm not seeing that I have any libssl.so files installed on my system. Do I need the development package? If so, how do I install that? I used macports to install the current version of openssl that I have. I'm running OS X 10.6.   I am trying to install Php on Vista (IIS 7). The installation and configuration seems to be fine. Pretty much followed everything mentioned in http://blogs.iis.net/bills/archive/2006/09/19/How-to-install-PHP-on-IIS7-_2800_RC1_2900_.aspx I can even bring up a test.php which is basically and can also connect to mysql db through code. But when I try to bring up some other php page like drupal's index page or phpmyadmin index page, it brings up a Php access violation message. Any clue whats happening? Also is there some tracing/diagnositic tool for php to trace whats happenign on the webserver.

It was suggested in WHB forum that this was possible with sSMTP.   I know I have seen recommendations for installing SSRS 2005 and it stated that you should separate SSRS from the DB Engine that hosts the data sources for your reports, that you should not install them on the same server. Is there any documentation for SSRS 2008 that provides guidelines/best practices for installation? I am assuming that the same holds true for SSRS 2008 as it did for SSRS 2005 but have not seen it specifically stated anywhere. We have a project that will utilize SSRS 2008 and there is a difference of opinion on where to install it, on it's own dedicated server or on the same SQL Server as the report data sources. If there is a link to any documentation that could be provided it would be gratefully appreciated, all I am finding besides what is in BOL refers to 2005. Thanks in advance!

  I've added a Unit Test target to my Xcode project but it fails to find my framework when it builds, saying: Test.octest could not be loaded because a link error occurred. It is likely that dyld cannot locate a framework framework or library that the the test bundle was linked against, possibly because the framework or library had an incorrect install path at link time. My framework (the main project target) is designed to be embedded and so has an install path of @executable_path/../Frameworks. I've marked the framework as a direct dependency of the test target and I've added it to the "Link Binary with Libraries" build phase. Additionally I've add a first step (after it's built the dependency) of "Copy Files" which simply copies the framework to the unit test bundle's Frameworks directory. • Problems installing Moose on Mac (compile Sub::Name prereq)

  I'm trying to install Moose (a CPAN module) on my Macbook Pro. It finds a dependency on Sub-Name, and when it tries to install this, gets the following error messages. Any idea as to how I can cure this? • What do you expect from a package manager for Emacs

  Although several hundred Emacs Lisp libraries exist GNU Emacs does not have an (internal) package manager. I guess that most users would agree that it is currently rather inconvenient to find, install and especially keep up-to-date Emacs Lisp libraries. These pages make life a bit easier Emacs Lisp List - Problem: I see dead people (links). Emacswiki - Problem: May contain traces of nuts (malicious code). These are some package managers XEmacs package manager package.el - ELPA pases install.el install-elisp.el plugin.el use-package.el jem-pkg.el epkg/elm - the one I am working. And this are some packages that provide functionality that might be useful in a package manager ell.el - Browse the Emacs Lisp List genauto.el - helps generate autoloads for your elisp packages date-calc.el - date calculation and parsing routines strptime.el - partial implementation of POSIX date and time parsing wikirel.el - Visit relevant pages on the Emacs Wiki loadhist.el, lib-requires.el, elisp-depend.el - Commands to list Emacs Lisp library dependencies. project-root.el - Define a project root and take actions based upon it So I would like to know from you what you consider important/unimportant/supplementary... in a package manager for Emacs. Some ideas Many packages (incorporate the Emacs Lisp List and other lists of libraries). Only packages that have been tested. Support for more than one package archive (so people can choose between many/tested packages). Dependency calculated based on required features only. Dependencies take particular versions into account. Only use versions that have been released upstream. Use versions from version control systems if available. Packages are categorized. Packages can be uninstalled and updated not only installed. Support creating fork of upstream version of packages. Support publishing these forks. Support choosing a fork. After installation packages are activated. Generate autoloads. Integration with Emacswiki (see wikirel.el). Users can tag, comment ... packages and share that information. Only FSF-assigned/GPL/FOSS software or don't care about license. Package manager should be integrated in Emacs. Support contacting author. Lots of metadata. Suggest alternatives before installing a particular package.   Here are things installed: $ sudo apt-get install postgresql-server-dev-8.4 libpq5 libpq-dev Here is a past to my config.out: http://pastebin.com/8Nk6pr96 And, here are some hints I got from IRC (names concealed) < foo> it's NOT failing to find libpq. < foo> libpq is present, but not compilable without adding a boatload of other -l flags < foo> and postgis' configure doesn't let you specify that via LIBS < foo> his paste contains the config.out, which shows this The configure dies with this, configure: error: could not find libpq I intend to install postgis for mapfish :)

• ASP.NET MVC 2.0 RTM cannot work with VWD 2008 Express on a new Windows 7 Pro

  The MVC 2.0 RTM works great on my old Vista computer with VWD 2008 Express, but I just bought a new computer with Windows 7 Pro, I installed VWD 2008 Express SP1 and MVC 2.0 RTM by using Web PI 2.0. but after installation, I found the VWD doesn't have any MVC options, that means I can't either create new MVC projects or compile existing MVC projects. Why? What other steps I need to do to make it work? I'm sure the MVC has been installed properly since my MVC site on the new computer works well (so the IIS side has no problem), just the VWD can't 'realize' that the MVC framework is already installed... (tried to uninstall and install many times, and I also tried to install MVC separately without Web PI, but it just won't work)

• How to handle application upgrades from free to paid version while preserving any data

  Here is the context. I want to have a free version and a premium version of the same application. When people buy the application, I want them to be able to "upgrade" without losing their data, i.e. the premium version should install over the free version. I want to use the same code base and just switch a setting to build the premium version. Andoid Market does not let me convert a free app to a paid app, so the trivial option is not available. I am curious if someone has tried this successfully. How does Android Market identify an application - will it think that the premium version is a different app and just install it in parallel?

• Getting IIS Worker Process Crash dumps

  I'm doing something bad in my ASP.NET app. It could be the any number of CTP libraries I'm using or I'm just not disposing something properly. But when I redeploy my ASP.NET to my Vista IIS7 install or my server's IIS6 install I crash an IIS worker process. I've narrowed the problem down to my HTTP crawler, which is a multithreaded beast that crawls sites for useful information when asked to. After I start a crawler and redeploy the app over the top, rather than gracefully unloading the appDomain and reloading, an IIS worker process will crash (popping up a crash message) and continue reloading the app domain. When this crash happens, where can I find the crash dump for analysis?
