Sample process: Develop it: Patch bugs, add features, etc. Feature Freeze (do not fix, add anything unless it's absolutely required) Test it If everything is OK release it, if it's not fix it, test it, release it I think the most crucial question is what's your approach to "feature freeze test release" cycle? Or do you test it more frequently that you don't need such a cycle and your software is always ready for public release?

  • Why doesn't my form post when I disable the submit button to prevent double clicking?

    Like every other web developer on the planet, I have an issue with users double clicking the submit button on my forms. My understanding is that the conventional way to handle this issue, is to disable the button immediately after the first click, however when I do this, it doesn't post. I did do some research on this, god knows there's enough information, but other questions like Disable button on form submission, disabling the button appears to work. The original poster of Disable button after submit appears to have had the same problem as me, but there is no mention on how/if he resolved it.     I'm looking for a Windows port of the UNIX touch command. I don't want to install an entire MKS toolkit just for the one tool. Is there a native port available somewhere or a command in Windows that does the same thing and supports features like all files in a directory by wildcard? Specifically I'm after changing mtime, ctime and atime for a project that reports ages of files based on... mtime, ctime and atime.

  • Why is RAISERROR misspelled? Or is it not?

    Why isn't RAISERROR spelled RAISEERROR? Where is the second E? I could understand if it were some ancient keyword length constraint, but I wouldn't expect it to be a nine-character limit. Is RAIS or RROR a technical word such that "raise-error" is just a mis-reading? Are its (immediate) origins in a different language? I've searched Google but not finding much on the subject.

    According to wikipedia! http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/ORDBMS IBM's DB2, Oracle database, and Microsoft SQL Server, make claims to support this technology and do so with varying degrees of success So, are these products true "ORDBMS" like PostgreSQL? or they are they are long way from it? can someone plz! point me to any link where i can read about the features still to be implemented by these RDBMS to become true ORDBMS!

  • Problems With Eclipse and Ruby Plugin

    I installed Eclipse and then the Ruby Development Tools (RDT), but it would crash when I try to alter certain features, like having line numbers, how far back to have history, and the code coloring scheme didn't work fully. I decided to try to uninstall Eclipse by doing sudo aptitude remove eclipse and then sudo aptitude install eclipse but instead it installed it back with the broken Ruby plugin. I also tried aptitude purge but that didn't help either. How can I freshly reinstall eclipse and get a properly working Ruby plugin?

  • Can Visual Studio 2010 Test .net 3.5 SP1 Projects?

    I have some projects in a solution that are running on .net 3.5 SP1 (and can never ever be updated to 4.0 as they are SharePoint projects). When I try to create a new Visual C# Test Project in VS2010 Premium, I have to choose .net 4.0 which is apparently intended. Now I don't care about what my Unit Test project is (don't have to care about VS2008 users), but I do care if I can safely test 3.5 Projects in it due to the different CLRs and slight C# language differences?
