    Hi, I created a web application with asp.net 3.5 and ado.net entity framework WebForms 1, but have not yet succeeded in creating a memebrship and roles. When I go on ASP.NET Configuration and click the Security Tab I get the following error: Keyword not supported.   • Native SQL - How to set the schema and database names

    Im using Native SQL from ABAP language. The query to get data is something like this SELECT COUNT(ROWID) FROM <SCHEMANAME>.<TABLENAME>;@<DATABASENAME> INTO :localvariable I want to somehow set the schemaname and database name as default so that i do not need to use them in the SELECTs later. Then i can only use the table name in the SELECT. thanks !!

When I say "home" I mean the go-to place for official documentation, specifications, source code of the language, examples, etc.

    C++ is my first language, and as such I'm used to whitespace being ignored. However, I've been toying around with Python, and I don't find it too hard to get used to the whitespace rules. It seems, however, that a lot of programmers on the Internet can't get past the whitespace rules. From what I've seen, peoples' C++ programs tend to be formatted very consistently with respect to whitespace (or else it's pretty hard to read), so why do some people have such a problem with whitespace-based languages like Python?

  • Need to place a floating modeless form over excel main window (quasi-task pane)

    Hi I need to emulate a task pane by floating a modeless form over the Excel main window. The reason for this requirement is that I need to have taskpane features for my Excel 2003 add-in, but cannot use the document-centric model. Can anyone suggest what would be the best way to do this? The modeless form would need to detect the main window resize event and resize itself accordingly, and also need to always position itself at the bottom of the window (kind of like a docking pane).

    I'm having trouble figuring out the syntax for a JScript .NET dictionary object. I have tried private var myDictionary: Dictionary<string><string>; but the compiler complains that it's missing a semicolon and that the Dictionary object is not declared. I know JScript does have a native dictionary-like object format, but I'm not sure if there are disadvantages to using it instead of the .NET-specific construct. I.e., what if someone wants to extend my script using another .NET language?

    Dear All, I need to parallelize a CPU intensive Java application on my multicore desktop but I am not so comfortable with threads programming. I looked at Scala but this would imply learning a new language which is really time consuming. I also looked at Ateji PX Java parallel extensions which seem very easy to use but did not have a chance yet to evaluate it. Would anyone recommend it? Other suggestions welcome.     I'm aware of SOUNDEX and (double) Metaphone, but these don't let me test for the similarity of words as a whole - for example "Hi" sounds very similar to "Bye", but both of these methods will mark them as completely different. Are there any libraries in Ruby, or any methods you know of, that are capable of determining the similarity between two words? (Either a boolean is/isn't similar, or numerical 40% similar) edit: Extra bonus points if there is an easy method to 'drop in' a different dialect or language!

    I know this same question was asked for Entity Framework 1, but now that Entity Framework 4 has come out, and Microsoft claims that it provides all of the features of Linq to Sql + more, does Entity Framework now support lazy loading expensive properties? In Linq to Sql, this is extremely easy. There's a Delay Loaded option on any property (accessible through the Designer) that can simply be toggled on or off. Is there something similar in Entity Framework? Thanks
