• vs 2010 Deployment without Web Deploy

  with vs 2008 I always used Web Deployment Project to build to three different environments. It is maybe not the best solution, since I still have to xcopy the built files to the server, but it is simple. now with vs 2010 it looks promising, but It looks also complicated. My hosting doesn't have Web Deploy, the newest feature and the flagship technology for deployment in vs2010. My question how can I just build for each environment and copy the files over to the server. Using the Build Deployment Package will create the zip file and when I extract it, it will output so many files and confusing folder structure. Anyone has suggestion?

There must be some conventions that help in better tracking of the issue. For instance, Logging work, Linking issues, creating sub-tasks. It would be of help if you can share some of the features (and the conventions) that you follow while using Jira. It may vary from team-to-team but there must be some generic rules which can be followed. Any feedback would be of help. Thanks.

• Print "1 followed by googolplex number of zeros" [closed]

  Assuming we are not concerned about running time of the program (which is practically infinite for human mortals), we want to print out in base 10, the exact value of 10^(googolplex), one digit at a time (mostly zeros). Describe an algorithm (which can be coded on current day computers), or write a program to do this. Since we cannot practically check the output, so we will rely on collective opinion on the correctness of the program. NOTE : I do not know the solution, or whether a solution exists or not. The problem is my own invention. To those readers who think this is not a CS question... kindly reconsider. This is difficult and bit theoretical but definitely CS.

  It looks like this has been asked before, but the answers do not appear to work for me. I am outputting information from a local XML file, but the description elements is not being output because it is enclosed in CDATA - if I remove the CDATA portion then things work fine. • C# can I lock a method parameter?

  We have a class variable ArrayList binaryScanData in a class. In all methods having access to it, we put lock(binaryScanData) on it because it is shared. Now we want to move one of those methods out to another util class to make it a static method. We will pass that binaryScanData into the method like this: public static void convertAndSaveRawData(ref MemoryStream output, ref ArrayList binaryScanData) Our questions are followed: how can we sychoronize that binaryScanData? can we do the same as it is originally? ref is necessary? It will only be read in that convertAndSaveRawData method.

• Alternative to Turbo C

  My university is hosting a Programming Competition, and have decided to support Turbo C (the 16-bit DOS version) as a valid programming environment. I have just read that PC^2, the software that is going to be used to auto-judge the competition, does not support 16-bit programs. So, is there any alternative to Turbo C that I can use. I need the same header files, and the compiler would need to support all the outdated C standards that Turbo C supports. But the output needs to be 32-bit. Is there any compiler that can satisfy these conditions?

  Hi all, if you wanted to manipulate the data in a table in a postgresql database using some python (maybe running a little analysis on the result set using scipy) and then wanted to export that data back into another table in the same database, how would you go about the implementation? Is the only/best way to do this to simply run the query, have python store it in an array, manipulate the array in python and then run another sql statement to output to the database? I'm really just asking, is there a more efficient way to deal with the data? Thanks, Ian

• Build Issue with multi module project

  Hi, I have a multi module web project. Four modules of the project are packaged as jar and added as dependency to the fifth module, which is packaged as war. When it is time to deploy the application i just run package on the war project and my war is created with all the dependencies. Now there is a problem. One of the my module have heavy changes. Now when i created war for my projects these changes was not reflected in the output war file(the jar in lib folder of war has still the old code). Can you please point the things i am missing from the release process? Why the old code is being packaged with the war? Can you please point some good resource for real file build process using maven? Regards, Vijay

The only issue I have is once i established a "Data connection"..how can I use those args for queries and searches. For example: ~//arrInput.exe "parm1" "pram2" "pram3" Part 2: I would like to take in command line args and use them as input parms for a "stored proc". • Is it possible to create a quine in every turing-complete language?

  I just wanted to know if it is 100% possible, if my language is turing-complete, to write a program in it that prints itself out (of course not using a file reading function) So if the language just has the really necessary things in order to make it turing complete (I would prove that by translating Brainf*ck code to it), like output, variables, conditions and gotos (hell yes, gotos), can I try writing a quine in it? I'm also asking this because I'm not sure that a quine directly fits into Turing's law that the turing machine is capable of any computational task. I just want to know so I don't try for years without knowing that it may be impossible.

  I have a file named cmd that contains a list of unix commands as follows: hostname pwd ls /tmp cat /etc/hostname ls -la ps -ef | grep java cat cmd I have another script that executes the commands in cmd as: IFS=$'\n' clear for cmds in `cat cmd` do if [ $cmds ] ; then $cmds; echo "****************************"; fi done The problem is that commands in cmd without spaces run fine, but those with spaces are not correctly interpreted by the script.   I would like to work with unique combinations of var1 and var2. foo <- data.frame(var1= c(1, 1, 2, 2, 2, 2, 3, 3, 3, 3, 3, 4, 4, 4, 4), var2=c(1, 1, 1, 1, 2, 2, 1, 1, 2, 2, 2, 2, 2, 3, 3)) As has been noted (+1 for answers), unique(foo) results in this: var1 var2 1 1 1 2 2 1 3 2 2 4 3 1 5 3 2 6 4 2 7 4 3 Based on the unique combinations, how do I get the number of occurrences of a var1 value and the sum (bla) of each var1 value's var2 values. The output could look like this: var1 n bla 1 1 1 1 2 2 2 3 3 3 2 3 4 4 2 5 edit: The question was too basic and probably duplicate so I extended it.

• Debugging ASP.NET Strings Downloaded to Browser

  I'm downloading a vCard to the browser using Response.Write to output .NET strings with special accented characters. Mime type is text/x-vcard and French characters are appearing wrong in Outlook, for example Montréal;Québec .NET string shows as Montréal Québec in browser. I'm using this vCard code from CodeProject.com I've played with the System.Encoding sample code at the bottom of this linked MSDN page to convert the unicode string into bytes and then write the ascii bytes but then I get Montr?al Qu?bec (progress but not a win). Also I've tried setting content type to both us-ascii and utf-8 of the response. Apparently the vcard file downloads as unicode. If I save it as ASCII text and open in Outlook it's okay. So my assumption is I need to cause download of ASCII but am unsure if I'm doing it wrong or have a misunderstanding of where to start.

• How to disable localization of errors in Visual Studio?

  I use Visual Studio 2008 and it really makes me crazy how it shows error messages (in Error List window, Output window - especially exceptions) partially in English and partially in my native language. Interestingly, it is worse in WPF than in WinForms project. I've read here that it is about Culture of the running thread (so that the problem is in a settings for .NET). Why am I solving it? It's simple because if I run into an error message and I don't know what it exactly mean or how to fix the problem then trying to google the problem in any other language than in English is very problematic. For example, it would be useful to set English for debugging purposes. How to solve the problem? Thanks for any suggestion!

  Hi, I am recently have been successfully installed NetBean 6.8 on Ubuntu Box (10.04). But the problem is, NetBeans doesn't use the Gnome mouse Cursor by default. instead, It uses some freak mouse cursor that I hate! So, do you have any idea about how to change the cursor that appears inside netbeans.(I have looked inside tools options but without any output) Also I have did: $ grep -iR cursor * Binary file var/cache/all-resources.dat matches Binary file var/cache/all-layers.dat matches Binary file var/cache/index/s2/javascript/8/1/_0.cfs matches (note, I didn't talked here about how to change the cursor inside some Java program written in NetBeans) Thanks in advance.

• How to troubleshoot deallocation of object in uitableview?

  I have a table view with tall cells. About 300 in height. The cells are custom and have an associated nib. In cellForRowAtIndexPath, I access an object in an array using indexPath.row. The object has properties, which I assign to labels on the custom cell. This works fine for the first two cells. Once I scroll enough for the third cell to get created, the app crashes. • Apache ErrorDocument not working for PHP 500 error

  I have a number of ErrorDocuments setup in my .htaccess file for errors such as 404, 401, 403 etc which all redirect to my error page but the ErrorDocument set for a 500 error is never displayed when PHP reports a 500. The 500 code is sent to the browser and the output is blank. Is there something special I need to do to enable 500 error documents for use with PHP? My directives look like this: ErrorDocument 401 /errorpage.php?error=401 ErrorDocument 403 /errorpage.php?error=403 ErrorDocument 404 /errorpage.php?error=404 ErrorDocument 500 /errorpage.php?error=500 I've looked through the php.ini and can't see anything that would obviously override the Apache settings and there are no ErrorDocument directives in my httpd.conf either. Anywhere else I should be looking? Thanks in advance.

I have to get it using the c# code. Can anyone pls help me on this
