  I'm using tagsoup to clean some HTML I'm scraping from the internet, and I'm getting the following error when parsing through pages with comments: The data "- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - " is not legal for a JDOM comment: Comment data cannot start with a hyphen. I'm using JDOM 1.1, and here's the code that does the actual cleaning: SAXBuilder builder = new org.jdom.input.SAXBuilder("org.ccil.cowan.tagsoup.Parser"); // build // Don't check the doctype! • How can I make mock-0.6 return a sequence of values?

  I'm using the mock-0.6 library from http://www.voidspace.org.uk/python/mock/mock.html to mock out a framework for testing, and I want to have a mock method return a series of values, each time it's called. Right now, this is what I figured should work: def returnList(items): def sideEffect(*args, **kwargs): for item in items: yield item yield mock.DEFAULT return sideEffect mock = Mock(side_effect=returnList(aListOfValues)) values = mock() log.info("Got %s", values) And the log output is this: subsys: INFO: Got <generator object func at 0x1021db500> So, the side effect is returning the generator, not the next value, which seems wrong. Where am I getting this wrong?

• Monodevelop: `Waiting for debugger to connect...`

  I am trying to debug this Mono desktop software in Monodevelop. I imported the SLN file, ran Build all with success, but when I press the Debug button I get this popup that stays waiting forever saying Waiting for debugger to connect...: The output says: User assembly '/home/nico/src/SparkleShare/SparkleShare/bin/SparkleShare.exe' is missing. Debugger will now debug all code, not just user code. Am I doing something wrong? Monodevelop 2.8.6.3 on Ubuntu 2012.04. Nothing special appears on the console with monodevelop -v -v -v. When I press Run instead of Debug, the app crashes immediately saying The application exited with code: 255, but I need Debug to find where the problem is. Note: It is not the same problem as this question, which is about MonoTouch waiting for a phone simulator... the suggestions over there are about the simulator or updating XCode... no simulator nor XCode here.

I'm currently at the stage where I have a temporary table that contains all of the records that I want to output to a text file. I have the following line at the end of my SP, it works in PHPMYAdmin's query but it does not work when part of a stored procedure the code is as follows: SELECT * into outfile '../../htdocs/VIP/Temp/temp.txt' from tmp_Menu2; note that tmp_Menu2 is a table that only includes one field of type VARCHAR(1000) Any help would be greathly appreciated.   So, my project directory looks like this: /project Makefile main /src main.cpp foo.cpp foo.h bar.cpp bar.h /obj main.o foo.o bar.o What I would like my makefile to do would be to compile all .cpp files in the /src folder to .o files in the /obj folder, then link all the .o files in /obj into the output binary in the root folder /project. The problem is, I have next to no experience with Makefiles, and am not really sure what to search for to accomplish this. Also, is this a "good" way to do this, or is there a more standard approach to what I'm trying to do?

• Text encoding in HTML text fields

  I have a site up that has a form on it. The form POSTs to a php script which then inserts the data into my database. The page has a charset=UTF-8 attribute in the <meta> tag, and the database is setup to use UTF-8. However, when I copy and paste characters from MS Word into the field, the output is messed up. For example, the quotes in I am using "Microsoft Word" '''' become I am using “Microsoft Word†???? in the database. Anyone have any idea why this might occur?

• Character Encoding problem?

  Hi, In my mysql database I have the following information in a page name field. ç,Ç,ö,Ö,ü,Ü,i,I,s,S,g,G If I do a phpmyadmin dump the above is exported. I am using a different php script and instead of the above I am getting this. "\303\247,\303\207,\303\266,\303\226,\303\274,\303\234,\304\261,\304\260,\305\237,\305\236,\304\237,\304\236" This is the snippet which is generating the output. $data_sql = "SELECT * FROM ".$table_name; $data_res = @mysql_query($data_sql); while($data_row = @mysql_fetch_array($data_res,MYSQL_NUM)) { print_r($data_row); } How can I modify this to make sure that the data is correct? Is some sort of php function required? Do I need to do something to the file? Any advice is much appreciated.

  I want to add methods (more specifically: method aliases) automatically to Python subclasses. If the subclass defines a method named 'get' I want to add a method alias 'GET' to the dictionary of the subclass. To not repeat myself I'd like to define this modifation routine in the base class. But if I check in the base class init method, there is no such method, since it is defined in the subclass. It will become more clear with some source code: class Base: def __init__(self): if hasattr(self, "get"): setattr(self, "GET", self.get) class Sub(Base): def get(): pass print(dir(Sub)) Output: ['__doc__', '__init__', '__module__', 'get'] It should also contain 'GET'. The problem is that WriteSubstitution takes as a parameter a HttpResponseSubstitutionCallback callback which looks like this: public delegate string HttpResponseSubstitutionCallback(System.Web.HttpContext context) This is where things get complicated since there is no easy/fun way to generate the html on the fly. You have to do a hack like this. So the question is: Is there an easier way to make a partial view not cached ?

And there are some of the zipcodes which has no entry in zipcode table, so that should remain null. And the major issue is like I have more then 50,00,000 records in my db. So, query should support this feature. I have tried some of the solutions but unfortunately not getting proper output. Any help would be appreciated...

• Hello World bootloader not working!

  Hello. I've been working through the tutorials on this webpage which progressively creates a bootloader that displays Hello World. The 2nd tutorial (where we attempt to get an "A" to be output) works perfectly, and yet the 1st tutorial doesn't work for me at all! (The BIOS completely ignores the floppy disk and boots straight into Windows). This is less of an issue, although any explanations would be appreciated. The real problem is that I can't get the 3rd tutorial to work. Instead on outputting "Hello World", I get an unusual character (and blinking cursor) in the bottom-left corner of the screen. It looks a bit like a smiley face inside a rounded rectangle. Does anyone know how to get Hello World to display as it should?

I use the libraries available in Microsoft.Office.Interop.Excel to generate the file. However by default in the output i cannot see the page numbers. • Netstat shows numerous CLOSE_WAIT states for mysql connections

  The output of netstat -an shows many mysql connections in CLOSE_WAIT state and when i checked the processlist in mysql using 'SHOW PROCESSLIST' the connections shown in netstat do not appear. What possible could be the reason for this. I use tomcat with mysql-connector and use a Connection Pool as well. Is it that the application is not closing the mysql connection or is there any other reason for this behaviour... sometimes the CLOSE_WAIT reaches over 200. On the application level i made sure that i close all the connections(make sure i issue a close() command in the finally block) created using jdbc. Any help would be appreciated.

  I have a bunch of long-running scripts and applications that are storing output results in a directory shared amongst a few users. I would like a way to make sure that every file and directory created under this shared directory automatically had u=rwxg=rwxo=r permissions. I know that I could use umask 006 at the head off my various scripts, but I don't like that approach as many users write their own scripts and may forget to set the umask themselves. I really just want the filesystem to set newly created files and directories with a certain permission if it is in a certain folder. Is this at all possible? Update: I think it can be done with POSIX ACLs, using the Default ACL functionality, but it's all a bit over my head at the moment. If anybody can explain how to use Default ACLs it would probably answer this question nicely.
