  • UITableView Header View Scrolls

    - by Jim Bonner
I am using a header view, not section header, with my UITableView. The documentation says that the header view sits on top of the table, but my header view scrolls just like a normal row. Is there a way to make the header view always visible at the top of the table?

  • Line smoothing in Cocoa Touch

    - by Sam Kaplan
How would I smooth a line (UIBeizerPath) or a set of points? Right now it draws it jagged. I read about spline interpolation, could anyone point me to an implementation of this in cocoa or C or give me an alternate line smoothing algorithm.

  • How to properly deal with KVO notifications when an managed object turns into a fault?

    - by dontWatchMyProfile
From the docs: When Core Data turns an object into a fault, key-value observing (KVO) change notifications (see Key-Value Observing Programming Guide) are sent for the object’s properties. If you are observing properties of an object that is turned into a fault and the fault is subsequently realized, you receive change notifications for properties whose values have not in fact changed. So if an object turns into a fault, Core Data does send KVO notifications for changed properties? So I must always check for isFault == NO before beeing happy about the notification?

  • How do I make a custom delegate protocol for a UIView subclass?

    - by timothy5216
    I'm making some tabs and I want to have my own delegate for them but when I try to send an action to the delegate nothing happens. I also tried following this tutorial: link text But it doesn't work for me :( Here is my code: TiMTabBar.h @protocol TiMTabBarDelegate; @interface TiMTabBar : UIView { id<TiMTabBarDelegate> __delegate; ... int selectedItem; ... } //- (id)init; - (id)initWithDelegate:(id)aDelegate; - (void)setSelectedIndex:(int)item; .. @property (nonatomic) int selectedItem; @property(assign) id <TiMTabBarDelegate> __delegate; .. ... @end @protocol TiMTabBarDelegate<NSObject> //@optional - (void)tabBar:(TiMTabBar *)_tabBar didSelectIndex:(int)index; @end TiMTabBar.m: #import "TiMTabBar.h" ... @interface NSObject (TiMTabBarDelegate) - (void)tabBar:(TiMTabBar *)_tabBar didSelectIndex:(int)index; @end @implementation TiMTabBar @synthesize selectedItem; @synthesize __delegate; ... /* - (id)init { ... return self; } */ - (id)initWithDelegate:(id)aDelegate; { //[super init]; __delegate = aDelegate; return self; } - (void)awakeFromNib { //[self init]; //[self initWithDelegate:self]; ... } - (void)setSelectedIndex:(int)item { selectedItem = item; if (self.__delegate != NULL && [self.__delegate respondsToSelector:@selector(tabBar:didSelectIndex:)]) { [__delegate tabBar:self didSelectIndex:selectedItem]; } ... if (item == 0) { ... } else if (item == 1) { ... } else if (item == 2) { ... } else if (item == 3) { ... } else if (item == 4) { ... } else { ... } } /* - (void)tabBar:(TiMTabBar *)_tabBar didSelectIndex:(int)index; { //[delegate tabBar:self didSelectIndex:index]; //if (self.delegate != NULL && [self.delegate respondsToSelector:@selector(tabBar:didSelectIndex:)]) { //[delegate tabBar:self didSelectIndex:selectedItem]; //} NSLog(@"tabBarDelegate: %d",index); } */ @end The delegate only works works inside itself and not in any other files like: @interface XXXController : UIViewController <TiMTabBarDelegate> { ... ... IBOutlet TiMTabBar *tabBar; ... } ... @end XXXController.m: #import "XXXController.h" #import <QuartzCore/QuartzCore.h> @implementation XXXController - (void)viewDidLoad { [super viewDidLoad]; [self becomeFirstResponder]; ... tabBar = [[TiMTabBar alloc] initWithDelegate:self]; //tabBar.__delegate = self; ... } #pragma mark TiMTabBar Stuff - (void)tabBar:(TiMTabBar *)_tabBar didSelectIndex:(int)index; { NSLog(@"Controller/tabBarDelegate: %d",index); } @end None of this seems to work in XXXController. Anyone know how to make this work?

  • CGContextSetRBStrokeColor to replace, not add, for alpha?

    - by Peter Hajas
I use CGContexts to allow the user to draw in my application, here's an example: CGContextSetLineCap(UIGraphicsGetCurrentContext(), kCGLineCapRound); CGContextSetLineWidth(UIGraphicsGetCurrentContext(), size); CGContextSetRGBStrokeColor(UIGraphicsGetCurrentContext(),r,g,b,a); I want the user to have an "eraser" tool that actually erases - it can't draw white (that would add white to the image, which may not have a white background) or alpha (or else the stroke won't do anything). Is there a way to do this? Perhaps replacing contents of a CGContext or UIImage?

  • UINavigationController Back Button not visible, but works

    - by cagreen
I have a scenario where my UINavigationController is missing the back button (left button) but tapping the left button still seems to work. I found a similar problem posted here: http://stackoverflow.com/questions/919832/uinavigationcontrollers-back-button-disappears which was resolved by not setting the title to @"", but that's not my problem. Are there any other scenarios that would cause this behaviour? Thanks.

  • Memory over-release problem when I am animating UIView

    - by Sheehan Alam
I have enabled NSZombie's and I am getting the following message in my console when I am running my application: *** -[UIViewAnimationState release]: message sent to deallocated instance 0xf96d7e0 Here is the method that is performing the animation -(void)loadAvatar:(STObject*)st { NSAutoreleasePool * pool = [[NSAutoreleasePool alloc] init]; avatar.alpha = 0; avatar.frame = avatarRectSmall; avatar.image = [ImageCache getMemoryCachedImageAtUrl:st.avatar_url]; [UIView beginAnimations:nil context:nil]; [UIView setAnimationDuration:.50]; avatar.frame = avatarRectNormal; [avatar setAlpha:1]; [UIView commitAnimations]; [pool release]; pool = nil; } I don't always get a crash, only sometimes. I'm wondering what is getting released?

  • Why is UIControlTouchUpInside UNDEFINED?

    - by munchine
    I've got a simple question but it has got me confounded. The code below gets an UNDEFINED error for UIControlTouchUpInside. What do I need to include or import? If I comment out the line, it works. So that means forState:UIControlStateNormal is defined. I'm new so hope you can help. UIButton * button = [UIButton buttonWithType:UIButtonTypeRoundedRect]; [button setTitle:@"Accept?" forState:UIControlStateNormal]; [button addTarget:self action:@selector(acceptTapped) forControlEvents:UIControlTouchUpInside];

  • change fillColor of selected CAShapeLayer

    - by Frank
I'm trying to change the fillColor of a CAShapeLayer when the layer it's contained in is touched. I'm able to change the background color of the tapped layer like this: -(void)touchesBegan:(NSSet *)touches withEvent:(UIEvent *)event { CALayer *layer = [(CALayer *)self.view.layer.presentationLayer hitTest:point]; layer = layer.modelLayer; layer.backgroundColor = [UIColor blueColor].CGColor; } This turns the background of "layer" blue as expected. My problem is how do I change the color of the CAShapelayer inside "layer"? Thanks!

  • Regular Expression doesn't match

    - by dododedodonl
    Hi All, I've got a string with very unclean HTML. Before I parse it, I want to convert this: <TABLE><TR><TD width="33%" nowrap=1><font size="1" face="Arial"> NE </font> </TD> <TD width="33%" nowrap=1><font size="1" face="Arial"> DEK </font> </TD> <TD width="33%" nowrap=1><font size="1" face="Arial"> 143 </font> </TD> </TR></TABLE> in NE DEK 143 so it is a bit easier to parse. I've got this regular expression (RegexKitLite): NSString *str = [dataString stringByReplacingOccurrencesOfRegex:@"<TABLE><TR><TD width=\"33%\" nowrap=1><font size=\"1\" face=\"Arial\">(.+?)<\\/font> <\\/TD>(.+?)<TD width=\"33%\" nowrap=1><font size=\"1\" face=\"Arial\">(.+?)<\\/font> <\\/TD>(.+?)<TD width=\"33%\" nowrap=1><font size=\"1\" face=\"Arial\">(.+?)<\\/font> <\\/TD>(.+?)<\\/TR><\\/TABLE>" withString:@"$1 $3 $5"]; I'm no an expert in Regex. Can someone help me out here? Regards, dodo

  • Memory Leak question

    - by franz
I am having a memory leak issue with the following code. As much as I can tell I don't see why the problem persists but it still does not release when called. I am detecting the problem in instruments and the following code is keeping its "cards" classes alive even when it should had released them. Any help welcome. ... ... -(id)initDeckWithCardsPicked: (NSMutableArray*)cardsPicked andColors:(NSMutableArray*)cardColors { self = [self init]; if (self != nil) { int count = [cardsPicked count]; for (int i=0; i<count; i++) { int cardNum = [[cardsPicked objectAtIndex:i] integerValue]; Card * card = [[MemoryCard alloc] initWithSerialNumber:cardNum position: CGPointZero color:[cardColors objectAtIndex:i]]; [_cards addObject: card]; [card release]; } } return self; } - (id) init { self = [super init]; if (self != nil) { self.bounds = (CGRect){{0,0},[Card cardSize]}; self.cornerRadius = 8; self.backgroundColor = kAlmostInvisibleWhiteColor; self.borderColor = kHighlightColor; self.cards = [NSMutableArray array]; } return self; } ... ...

  • Using the iPhones Multi-Touch Keyboard Search Button

    - by senfo
I have a regular text field on a view and I'd like to make use of the search button on the iPhones keyboard. For the life of me, I can't figure out how to do this. There doesn't seem to be any event exposed that I can wire up that specifically relates to the search button on the keyboard. I've googled around, but I also haven't found anything related to this subject.

  • UITableViewCell color issues with custom table view background

    - by Macatomy
I have a UITableView with a custom background image set like this: self.tableView.backgroundColor = [UIColor colorWithPatternImage:[UIImage imageNamed:@"mybg.png"]]; The background appears fine, but my UITableViewCells (default cells, not custom) have some sort of weird tint to them, and the UILabel containing the "New Project" text also seems to have some sort of background behind it. How can I remove this? I've already tried: cell.backgroundColor = [UIColor clearColor]; cell.textLabel.backgroundColor = [UIColor clearColor]; Thanks

  • Invalid argument exception - Navigation bar, tab bar, UIView.

Class 1 has the following code that generates the exception - -(IBAction) searchAllAction: (id) sender { AddDiagSearchController *search = [[AddDiagSearchController alloc] initWithNibName:@"DiagSearch" bundle:nil]; [self.navigationController pushViewController:search animated:YES]; } the pushViewController part generates the following exception - 2010-04-14 14:03:31.060 Nav[10314:207] *** -[UIView addTarget:action:forControlEvents:]: unrecognized selector sent to instance 0x3956a80 And the class I'm trying to push has the following code. All the connections for IBOutlets were made through the interface builder. It's has a tableView, search text bar and a tabbar at the bottom and I'll be adding this to a UINavigationController. @interface AddDiagSearchController : UIViewController <UITableViewDataSource, UITableViewDelegate>{ UIBarButtonItem *quickAdd; UIBarButtonItem *searchAll; UITextField *searchTxt; } @property (nonatomic, retain) IBOutlet UITextField *searchTxt; -(IBAction) searchAllClicked:(id) sender; -(IBAction) quickAddClicked:(id) sender; -(IBAction) searchBtnClicked; -(IBAction) resignResponder: (id) sender; @end

  • ASIHTTPRequest - PostData but GET Method

  • Optimizing drawing on UITableViewCell

    - by Brian
I am drawing content to a UITableViewCell and it is working well, but I'm trying to understand if there is a better way of doing this. Each cell has the following components: Thumbnail on the left side - could come from server so it is loaded async Title String - variable length so each cell could be different height Timestamp String Gradient background - the gradient goes from the top of the cell to the bottom and is semi-transparent so that background colors shine through with a gloss It currently works well. The drawing occurs as follows: UITableViewController inits/reuses a cell, sets needed data, and calls [cell setNeedsDisplay] The cell has a CALayer for the thumbnail - thumbnailLayer In the cell's drawRect it draws the gradient background and the two strings The cell's drawRect it then calls setIcon - which gets the thumbnail and sets the image as the contents of the thumbnailLayer. If the image is not found locally, it sets a loading image as the contents of the thumbnailLayer and asynchronously gets the thumbnail. Once the thumbnail is received, it is reset by calling setIcon again & resets the thumbnailLayer.contents This all currently works, but using Instruments I see that the thumbnail is compositing with the gradient. I have tried the following to fix this: setting the cell's backgroundView to a view whose drawRect would draw the gradient so that the cell's drawRect could draw the thumbnail and using setNeedsDisplayInRect would allow me to only redraw the thumbnail after it loaded --- but this resulted in the backgroundView's drawing (gradient) covering the cell's drawing (text). I would just draw the thumbnail in the cell's drawRect, but when setNeedsDisplay is called, drawRect will just overlap another image and the loading image may show through. I would clear the rect, but then I would have to redraw the gradient. I would try to draw the gradient in a CAGradientLayer and store a reference to it, so I can quickly redraw it, but I figured I'd have to redraw the gradient if the cell's height changes. Any ideas? I'm sure I'm missing something so any help would be great.

  • UITabBarControllerDelegate compare value of viewController

    - by T9
I have a tabBar with 4 tabs on it, and I want to perform some action when a specific tab is selected, so I have uncommented the UITabBarControllerDelegate in the xxAppDelegate.m I also wanted to see the value that was being sent logged in the console - in order to test my "if" statement. However this is where I got stumped. // Optional UITabBarControllerDelegate method - (void)tabBarController:(UITabBarController *)tabBarController didSelectViewController:(UIViewController *)viewController { NSLog(@"%@", viewController); } The console dutifully logged any selected controller that had been selected, but in this particular format: <MyViewController: 0x3b12950> Now, I wasn't expecting the square brackets or the colon or the Hex. So my question is how do I format my IF statement? This is what I thought would work but I get an error mentioned further down. // Optional UITabBarControllerDelegate method - (void)tabBarController:(UITabBarController *)tabBarController didSelectViewController:(UIViewController *)viewController { NSLog(@"%@", viewController); if (viewController == MyViewController) { //do something nice here … }; } ... The error is "Expected expression before 'MyViewController'" Anyone know how I should be doing this?
