  • TSql Lookup function

    I have a bunch of dimension tables that have unique ID and Name fields. I need a T-SQL function that returns an ID when passed a table name and a value for the name field. I'm guessing the query would build a little query then execute it? Performance isn't an issue since this is a one time ETL thing.

    I've created a login page and registration page and now I want to use that to password protect pages and have pages which show information specific to that user. Would storing the user ID of the user logged in in a Session variable be a safe and correct way of doing this? How easy would it be for a user to change the session variable to a different ID and access another user's information, and not having to type the users login details in?

  • Starting jetty with spring xml as a background process/thread

    My goal is to set up a jetty test server and inject a custom servlet to test some REST classes in my project. I was able to launch the server with spring xml and run tests against that server. The issue I'm having is sometimes after the server started, the process stopped at the point before running the tests. It seems jetty didn't go to background. It works every time on my computer. But when I deployed to my CI server, it doesn't work. It also doesn't work when I'm on VPN. (Strange.) The server should be completed initialized as when the tests stuck, I was able to access the server using a browser. I am having my textarea fire an onkeyup() event called limiter which is supposed to check the textarea and limit the text in the box, while updated another readonly input field that shows the amount of characters left. I know that something like this works: declare @qualifiedTable varchar(200) = @dbName+N'.[T1]' select max([id]) from @qualifiedTable But I have to do this LOTS of times so I would really like to do it in line.
