• Is it possible to deploy a Ruby app on a plain clean Passenger setup?

  I'm thinking to something really similar on what you can do with mod_php: drop an application in some way inside Apache and making it run with Passenger, without adding anything inside httpd.conf (no vhost, nothing except the basic Passenger configuration). It's something very similar to Wordpress or many other frameworks: just unzip/svn checkout it inside a folder and run it. I know that it's possible with CGI and FCGI, but I'm wondering if it's also possible to tap in the speed of Passenger. I've tried fiddling with the Rack instructions on the official website trying to find a specific .htaccess and config.ru configuration, but nothing so far. I know it's not common, but... is it even possible?

• SQL Server Reporting Services using of pictures with dynamic links

  I have setup a SSRS 2008 and building reports. So far so good. Now there is a picture control in SSRS where you can set the picture as external link reference. There you can choose to use a link. When I use a weblink (http://anyurl/download_picture.aspx?id=123) it dont' work for me. Calling the url in the web browser (all tested IE, Safari, Chrome, FF) the pictures is delivered, Header is ok, content type, too. Does it work in general in SSRS ? Or do I have to copy the picture to a temp folder and link the url like http://anyurl/mypicture.jpg.

• linux+apache+sqlite=death?

  The title is a joke. However it is serious as far as my app is concerned. I am running apache with mod mono and my asp.net app is using mono sqlite as its db. When i refresh the page twice i get the DB is locked error. The folder it is in is chmod 777. The webapp is creating sqlite.db and sqlite.db-journal but it doesnt seem to be able to delete the journal. i'm confused. What permissions do i need to set these? i tried precreating the files using 777 and had no luck.

  Hey Guys, I signed up with Google apps standard edition for one of my domain names say example.com. I setup the emails like [email protected] - and using the Google Email client and loggin as user contact - if I send emails to users - they arrive in their inbox. But when I send it through my php script running on my hosting account where I have registered the domain example.com - using the same email address [email protected] - it ends up in the Spam folder - I've noticed this in both yahoo and gmail accounts Any tips on how to prevent this from happening.   Hi friends, I worked on localhost to build my drupal site. then, I moved to server. Steps: Clear cache tables (Site Configuration Performance Clear Cached Data button) on localhost Export db and then import on live server Move files/folders to live server Edit settings.php to reflect live server config everything is working great until I make Clear Cached Data on Server. than my custom theme, custom front page, etc... all mess up :( What can be the problem? I appreciate helps so much!! Thanks! !!SORTED!! I used a subtheme for Zen, named mgf . then I had taken a back-up as mgf- somehow after I make Clear Cached Data, Drupal links to this mgf- which is old and doesnt have latest stylings. I just removed this folder from themes, and it linked to the right-latest mgf.

When i run the app , its giving error Installation error: INSTALL_FAILED_INSUFFICIENT_STORAGE and in the logcat it says - ERROR/PackageManager(54): Couldn't copy package file to temp file. I tried creating new avd also.But i am getting the same error. I want all those png and audio files. I dont want to store them in sdcard. Please Suggest me how to solve this problem. • SQL Server 2005: When clicking "Add" database I keep getting 'verify that the path or file exists'

  When I right click on "databases" in Sql Server 2005 Management Studio and then Attach... Add I get the following error: C:\Documents and Settings\Administrator\My Documents\SQL Server Management Studio\ Projects\Path\To\MDF\And\LDF\Files\ cannot access the specified path or file on the server. Verify that you have the necessary security privileges and that the path or file exists. The answer is easy - the MDF and LDF files where removed when Nant (by way of my dev machine) issued a drop command. But, after replacing the MDF and LDF files, I want to reattach the database but the above error keeps coming up when I select "Add". Also, I have already "unattached" the database in question and it no longer appears on the left under "databases". I have tried to replace a copy of the MDF and LDF files in the folder being referenced and that didn't work. Any ideas as to how to gracefully get rid of this error?

• NullPointerException when accessing image files in a .jar file

  Hi, I have pretty much tried everything but still have this same problem. I have the following setup: I have a images.jar containing a folder called 'images' in which there are multiple image files. I add images.jar to the java build path of the project in eclipse, and i've been trying to use the following code to access the individual images in the jar: URL url = this.getClass().getResource("images/a.png"); ImageIcon icon = new ImageIcon (url); Unfortunately, the URL object is always NULL. I don't think this has anything to do with where I put images.jar file as it is added to the classpath in eclipse. I have also tried using the path '/images/a.png', but still the same problem. Any suggestion would be extremely welcome! Thanks.

I want to use a Windows text editor to edit code that's on my Ubuntu server. I've tried using the Shared Folders setting, adding "/var/www" but it says that the path is not absolute. When I click on "other", it only allows me to browse folders on my Win7 host. Both the host and guest are 64-bit OS. Thanks in advance!

• Delete files in C# that windows does not want me to delete?

  At my company, we are writing a script to take care of simple tasks that we usually would do by hand. I am using c# to delete profiles in c:\documents and settings\, except a few. These will simply be left alone. The problem is that even with code that sets the files to normal and marks the admin user as an owner, they won't delete. They say that the quick launch folder has access denied. I am using a recursive permissions change method and I know that it works. Same thing with file attributes. Why won't it work? How do I fix this?

• How do I get artifacts from one Maven module included in the resources of another in my build?

  I have Maven modules that produce a Flex application as an SWF file. I want to include that file in a web application that is made with another Maven module from the same build. I'm wondering how and at which lifecycle phase I get Maven to grab the artifact from the other module and put it insode the appropriate folder of the webapp module. Would I use a separate assembly module? The web app is running on a Jetty server in an OSGi environment (using Pax), the server side of the web app uses Struts. The final artifact as I see it would be a WAR file including my Action etc classes, JSP templates, static contents such as CSS or JS, and the SWF movies. I might be better off with these split over some other setup, but right now, I wouldn't know which.

I have added *.cl under Tool/Text editor/File extensions and copied usertype.dat into the common7/ide folder, but VS underlines keywords like float4 or cross. Is it necessary to add some key in registry or can somebody propose a tutorial? Thanks in advance.   Hi there, I am implementing a CMS, the case is that the "Web-Editable" is in a different domain thus, I would be able just get the page using HttpRequest in order to copy and show it in the CMS server to make it able to change it (DOM just visual purpose) and save the changes to the CSS and JavaScript folder on the "Web-Editable" using FTP. I am not allow to download all the information included on the "Web-Editable" trough the FTP, and there are other dinamic images as well comming from a private database. • Apache mod_rewrite help with Wordpress

  I administer my wife's site, namelymarly.com. Up until last week, the root page of the blog was namelymarly.com/blog/. Last week I changed it in the WP settings to be namelymarly.com. WP created the new htaccess file, and I moved the index.php to the root directory (but left the WP folder where it was in the /blog/ directory), as instructed. Everything is working great except for one very important thing: When you type 'namelymarly.com/blog/' into a browser now, you get a 404 error. All other URLs, when they include the '/blog/somethinghere', will redirect properly to '/somethinghere.' It's only when there's nothing after '/blog/' that there's a problem. I tried adding this rule but it breaks the site: RewriteRule ^/blog(/|)$ / Any suggestions/help?

• How to move many files in multiple different directories (on Linux)

  My problem is that I have too many files in single directory. I cannot "ls" the directory, cos is too large. I need to move all files in better directory structure. I'm using the last 3 digits from ID as folders in reverse way. For example ID 2018972 will gotta go in /2/7/9/img_2018972.jpg. I've created the directories, but now I need help with bash script. I know the IDs, there are in range 1,300,000 - 2,000,000. But I can't handle regular expressions. I wan't to move all files like this: /images/folder/img_2018972.jpg -> /images/2/7/9/img_2018972.jpg I will appreciate any help on this subject. Thanks!

• case sensititivity with users controller on certain hosting

  We generally use two different hosting services. On one, everything works ticketyboo, as it does on my local dev servers. On the other server, however, I am having this problem: I can't access the users controller like this: http://www.example.com/users/login But I can like this: http://www.example.com/Users/login ** note the capitalised 'Users' ** If I displace the application to a sub-folder everything works fine (both upper- and lowercase). The hosting company have looked at it and can't see a problem at their end and they assure me that users is not a reserved word. You might say this isn't a problem, just use the version that works. Unfortunately it leads to problems downstream where Cake core starts generating urls itself. Anybody else seen this problem or know the solution? [This only occurs on the users controller - all others work as expected]

  Hi. I have an application which is making use of a .jar file and a .properties file which must reside in the same directory as where the .jar file lies. On a normal java application, this works fine, however I'm building an Eclipse plug-in. I've tried attaching the .properties everywhere, in the classpath, build path, putting them in the same folder and calling the jar file from there (this gives an obsure error) and I've even tried putting the .properties file inside the .jar file even.... but no luck.   I'm programming in C, and I have the following problem: I use fopen and try to read from a csv file, that is currently storred in the folder of the exe file of the program. the program works fine in debug mode and release mode, but when I try to run the program in "start without debugging" on visual studio 2008 express edition, the program stops working and windows is showing a message: "*.exe has stopped working. a program caused the program to stop working correctly. windows will close the program and notify you if a solution is available". I've tried running the program on several computers, and it's the same. another information I can give you is that if I enter the full path of the file (C:....file.csv) - then is works just fine, without any problem. I know I didn't write any code, but I hope someone will have an idea why this can happend. thanks is advance.

  Hi, I write applications for Windowe ME and CE in C# .NET 2.0. Sometimes I’ve got problems because applications don’t work on some navigation devices. On Windowe ME it is not problem because .NET can be installed from a cab, but on most Windows CE devices it is impossible because after soft reset all changes disappear. I found out that in most difficult cases good solution is to put all dll-s belonging to .NET installation cab in the folder where the application runs and everything work well. However there are some devices for example Navroad NR460 (Windows CE 5.0) on which none of .NET applications work (it is funny because previous and next version of that navigation works well). I didn’t found on this device cgacutil.exe program. Is this possible to force the device to run any .NET application without installing the Windows again? What should I try to do to check if running .NET a applications is possible? What conditions should be fulfilled to run easiest application written even in .NET 1.0

• best practice for Jquery plugin implementation and resource locations

  This is probably a very basic question, but I seem to have issues plugging in jquery plug-ins. The issue seems to be around the location of the script, css and images and ensuring the css has the correct url to the images. The standard plug-in has the following folder structure (eg : JPicker) js css images My project is asp.net mvc so I have the default: scripts images content So, I try to split the jquery plugin to the appropriate folders (not sure if this is the best way?). Then I try to correct the references to images (background urls) in the css. I believe the url is relative to the page that is implementing the css file, not the location of the css file itself. Anyway, when I try the above, the plugins don't seem to work. I believe the issue lies with the images not being found. The jquery code runs without errors, so I assume that's not the problem. Any help/advice much appreciated

• Where is the rand php function located? localhost php running, path of default functions?

  I have a local server installed on my Mac (MAMP). My question is, where I can find the php functions in my computer? What is the path to the functions folder? For instance, rand() time() isset() explode(). I would like to se the code to learn of it. I have a while looking for it, but I can't find it. Or is it that is already compiled? • Is it possible that an C++ application use CRT 4053 when the manifest uses 762?

  My application is compiled on a development PC with a manifest 762: However at runtime, on another release PC, the application uses the 4053 version of the file. c:\windows\winsxs\x86_microsoft.vc80.crt_1fc8b3b9a1e18e3b_8.0.50727.4053_x-ww_e6967989\MSVCR80.DLL Somewhere along the execution of my application I get a runtime error pointing to the msvcr80.dll. I suspect that the problem might be caused because the application use a DLL at runtime that was not used during the build. If I check in the WinSxS folder of the release PC I have both 762 and 4053 version of the CRT. Why does the application uses 4053 instead of the one used in the manifest? Thanks.
