parsing urls from windows batch file

I have a text file (myurls.txt) whose contents are a list of URLs as follow: Slides_1: http://linux.koolsolutions.com/svn/ProjectA/tags/REL-1.0 Exercise_1: http://linux.koolsolutions.com/svn/ProjectA/tags/REL-1.0 Slides_2: http://linux.koolsolutions.com/svn/oldproject/ProjectB/tags/REL-2.0 Exercise_2: http://linux.koolsolutions.com/svn/ProjectB/tags/REL-1.0 Exercise_3: http://linux.koolsolutions.com/svn/BlueBook/ProjectA/tags/REL-1.0 Now I want to parse this text file in a for loop such that after each iteration (for e.g. take the first url from the above file) I have the following information into different variables: %i% = REL-1.0 %j% = http://linux.koolsolutions.com/svn/ProjectA %k% = http://linux.koolsolutions.com/svn/ProjectA/tags/REL-1.0 After some experiment I have the following code but it only works (kind of) if the URLs have same number of slashes: @echo off set FILE=myurls.txt FOR /F "tokens=2-9 delims=/ " %%i in (%FILE%) do ( @REM <do something with variables i, j and k.> ) I am fine with other solutions like for e.g. using Windows Script Host/VBS script as long as it can run with a default Windows XP/7 installation. In other words, I know I can use awk, grep, sed, python, etc. for Windows and get the job done but I don't want the users to have to install anything besides a standard windows installation.

Why does Perl's Devel::LeakTrace::Fast point to blank files and evals?

I am using Devel::LeakTrace::Fast to debug a memory leak in a perl script designed as a daemon which runs an infinite loop with sleeps until interrupted. I am having some trouble both reading the output and finding documentation to help me understand the output. The perldoc doesn't contain much information on the output. Most of it makes sense, such as pointing to globals in DBI. Intermingled with the output, however, are several leaked SV(<LOCATION>) from (eval #) line # Where the numbers are numbers and <LOCATION> is a location in memory. The script itself is not using eval at any point - I have not investigated each used module to see if evals are present. Mostly what I want to know is how to find these evals (if possible). I also find the following entries repeated over and over again leaked SV(<LOCATION>) from line # Where line # is always the same #. Not very helpful in tracking down what file that line is in.

I don't want to conufse the users by typing the email like this: john (at) mail.com or similar ways. (and i think this kind of links can nevertheless read by crawlers?) I'm new to PHP and MySQL and I'm trying to store a users entered data from the following fields $skill, $experience, $years which a user can also add additional fields of $skill, $experience, $years if needed so in instead of 1 of each field there might be multiples of each field. I was wondering how can I store the fields in my MySQL database using PHP and MySQL? I have the following script but I know its wrong. can some one help me fix the script listed below? Is there a way to access Joomla 1.5 user variables (like user id) from a Flex 4 application using a PHP Data Service?

[ASP.NET MVC] Run ajax scripts on page with navigating with ajax?

I got a bit of an issue in my ASP.NET MVC project. I have a chat div in the bottom right corner (like facebook), and of course I do not want this to reload when navigating to all my navigation is ajax. The problem I am facing is that I use the following code on the top of the view page: <script type="text/javascript"> $(document).ready(function() { $('#divTS').hide(); $('a#showTS').click(function() { $('#divTS').slideToggle(400); return false; }); }); </script> The problem is that this code is only loaded with ajax and does not seem to fire? I would like to run all scripts in the newly loaded view, just as if I hadn't navigated with ajax. I cannot put this in the site.master as it only loads once and then probably the divs I am trying to hide doesn't exist. Is there a good way to run scripts in the ajax-loaded div?

JavaScript functions in footer

I'm currently using html5 boilerplate, which puts jQuery and your plugins into the footer. The only problem is, I use the same footer.php file in every page. How do I go about including page specific functions if the plugins aren't loaded yet? C++ Serial Port Only Responding Once Using Write()

All the code below works. My device responds, C,7 is a reset. When I run this the second time it doesn't respond. If I manually turn my device off and on, then run this script again it works. But not if I press the button to run the script the second time. RS232: 57600,8,N,1 Any ideas?? Is there any more information needed to solve this? *Also when I get this working I'm going to have to use the read() function to get the devices responses. Hi, I'm working on a Content Management System, and so far so good. I'm trying to get the system to work with a maintenance mode system. Reason for socket.error

Hi, I am a complete newbie when it comes to python, and programming in general. I've been working on a little webapp for the past few weeks trying to improve my coding chops. A few days ago my laptop was stolen so I went out and got a new MacBook Pro. Thank God I had everything under subversion control. The problem is now that I am on my new machine a script that I was running has stopped working and I have no idea why. This is really the only part of what I have been writing that I borrowed heavily for existing scripts. It is from the widely available whois.py script and I have only slightly modified it as follows (see below). It was running fine on my old system (running ubuntu), but now the socket.error is being raised. I'm completely lost on this, and would really appreciate any help. Hi guys! Tried to make a little old school ajax (iframe-javascript) script. A bit of mootools is used for DOM navigation Description: HTML: 1 iframe called "buffer" 1 div called "display" JAVASCRIPT: (short: copy iframe content into a div on the page) 1) onLoad on iframe triggers handler(), a counter makes sure it only run once (this is because otherwise firefox will go into feedback loop. What i think happens: iframe on load handler() copyBuffer change src of iframe , and firefox takes that as an onload again) 2) copybuffer() is called, it sets src of iframe then copies iframe content into div, then erases iframe content THE CODE: count=0; function handler(){ if (count==0){ copyBuffer(); count++; } } function copyBuffer(){ $('buffer').set('src','http://www.somelink.com/'); if (window.frames['buffer'] && $('display') ) { $('display').innerHTML = window.frames['buffer'].document.body.innerHTML; window.frames['buffer'].document.body.innerHTML=""; } } problems: QUESTION 1) nothing happens, the content is not loaded into the div. But if i either: A) remove the counter and let the script run in a feedback loop: the content is suddenly copied into the div, but off course there is a feedback loop going on, you can see it keeps loading in the status bar. OR B) insert an alert in the copyBuffer function. The content is copied, without the feedback loop. why does this happen? QUESTION 2) The If wrapped around the copying code i got from a source on the internet. I am not sure what it does? If i remove it the code does not work in: Safari and Chrome. How to use urlencoded urls with the GA tracking code

I've got a site where a booking page has an iframe embedded with the actual booking form. I need to track traffic from the parent site to the child iframe. So far so good - this basically works (at least I know the principle works as I've got it working on other pages). However, and this is the problem: the server that serves up the page in the iframe was configured by a complete and utter moron (or, alternatively, created by a complete and utter moron). It chokes on '=' characters, so in order to request the iframe page I need to urlencode the '=' signs - but the GA code seems unable to parse the url when this is done. So the questions: 1. has anyone come across this? 2. does anyone know of any solutions to this problem?

Using innerHTML to add ordered list fails in IE

I'm using the following Javascript code to populate a DIV with an ordered list: // send script back in split list var scriptList = script.split("\n"); var finalScript = "<ol>\n"; var count = 0; while(scriptList.length >= count) { if((scriptList[count]=="") || (scriptList[count] == undefined)) { count ++; continue; } finalScript = finalScript + "<li>" + scriptList[count] + "</li>\n"; count ++; } finalScript = finalScript + "</ol>"; scriptingDiv.innerHTML = finalScript; In firefox, if i look in the DOM using Firebug, this correctly translates to the following and correctly displays an ordered list. <ol> <li>This is the first item in the list</li> <li>This is the second item in the list</li> </ol> In IE, it displays as if the </li> tags are <br /> tags and ignores all the other tags, like this: This is the first item in the list This is the second item in the list Do I need to dynamically add the ordered list to the DOM for this to work? As opposed to just setting the html code in the div using .innerHTML? TIA

File upload issue

I am working on a PHP based, ticket management system. While creating a ticket, one can upload an attachment. I want to put a limit (say 10 MB) per file upload. To implement this I plan the following- 1. In php.ini set post_max_size = 10M 2.In PHP script which receives the POST- Since the file is larger than post_max_size, $_FILES[] will be empty. But I can still check the content-length header and discard the upload, if size more than 10M. While testing this I tried uploading a file of 1 GB and analysed the http traffic and this is what I found. - the entire 1 GB data is first uploaded to a to the server temporarily and discarded once the http request completes. Though I couldn't exactly find out where the file was getting saved(as it was not there in the temporary directory in the server.), but my http traffic analyzer showed that the browser did send 1 GB data to the server. - the PHP script execution started only after completion of the http request(i.e after uploading the entire 1 GB) Now I have 2 concerns: a) People may exploit my server bandwidth by trying to upload large file, which I will have to discard anyways. b) Even worse, if someone starts uploading a huge file (say 100 GB), entire 100 GB data is first uploaded to the server temporarily, that means for that period, it will consume that much of memory on my server. What's the common solution for this. Am I missing something here?

SimpleTest assertTags - loose matching? (for CakePHP)

I'd like to use SimpleTest to set up some functionality tests for our project - in particular, we have a very busy page which has some random components and some static components, and I'd like to be able to write a simple test which only confirms the static bits (preferably only the one or two most important ones). In other words, I want to be able to leave out any tags on the page I don't care about, and write something like: $result = "<html xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml" xml:lang="en" lang="en"><head><title>...</title><meta .../></head><body><script type="text/javascript">...</script><div class="center-splash"><span>Welcome JohnDoe</span><p>Your progress:</p>...</div><div class="left-column">...</div><div class="right-column">...</div>...</body></html>"; $expects = array('html'=>true,'body'=>true,'div'=>array('class'=>'center_splash'),'span'=>true,'Welcome JohnDoe','/span','/div','/body','/html'); $this->assertTagsButIgnoreExtras($result, $expects); When I try this with assertTags it fails. Is there a version of assertTags which allows this - something either officially part of the SimpleTest or CakePHP project or unofficially put out under the MIT license or similar?

HTML5 on iPhone Safari - data stored by localStorage does not always persist. Why?

Hi, I write a simple iPhone web app using HTML5's localStorage. Tests on a 2G device show that data stored using localStorage does not persist after the Safari process is killed although the opened Safari windows are remembered. The data is also lost in a case where I am on a different site on a different Safari window, then I change the window to where the web app in subject is shown. When Safari loads the page it automatically refreshes the page. Then the data is lost. This is a simple test code: <html> <head> <meta name="viewport" content="height=device-height, width=device-width, initial-scale=1.0, maximum-scale=1.0, user-scalable=no" /> </head> <body> <script> alert("1:" + localStorage.getItem("test")); localStorage.setItem("test", "123"); alert("2:" + localStorage.getItem("test")); </script> </body> As far as I understand the data should persist! Can anyone shed some light on this behavior? What should I do to get the persistence to work? Thanks! Tom.
