• Updating FGLRX driver fails & deactivates FGLRX driver

  I have an ATI/AMD graphics card in my computer. However, every time I try to install the post-release updates, it always fails and deactivates the graphics driver. I've pasted the last few messages following the ldconfig deferred processing now taking place message from the installation log from /var/log/jockey.log below; if you're interested, I have pasted the full output here.   I have problem with facebook and gmail only: It works fine and lets me log in, view photos and videos, read new messages, etc. But after 5-10 minuets it doesn't load at all This webpage is not available. • Used DBAN to wipe Lenovo u410 then installed Ubuntu. Need to install windows 8, but I get an error.

  When I try to boot from my windows 8 USB (tested on a separate PC), I get this error text "The boot configuration data for your pc is missing or contains errors." I want to install windows again so I can fix a battery issue I'm having. Lenovo's power management app has an option to keep the battery at 60% if the laptop stays plugged in most of the time. I enabled this, then formatted without changing it back. I think there might be a raid setup that I may need to remove or something. I don't mind removing Ubuntu and starting fresh. I would just love some help with all this, I'm a noob when it comes to Linux.

  My Ubuntu get into error when I try to mount one of my internal disks and it gives this error message: Error mounting: mount exited with exit code 13: $MFTMirr does not match $MFT (record 3). Failed to mount '/dev/sda7': Input/output error NTFS is either inconsistent, or there is a hardware fault, or it's a SoftRAID/FakeRAID hardware. In the first case run chkdsk /f on Windows then reboot into Windows twice. The usage of the /f parameter is very important! If the device is a SoftRAID/FakeRAID then first activate it and mount a different device under the /dev/mapper/ directory, (e.g. /dev/mapper/nvidia_eahaabcc1). Please see the 'dmraid' documentation for more details. pls advise how to solve above error ,Many thanks to you in advance.

  Let's say I have a directory that has a 403 forbidden error for all of the content in it, however a few of the images in the subdirectoies of the main diretory do NOT have a 403 forbidden error. Will this fact affect my ranking? For example: test.com/system/ (HAS 403 ERROR FOR ALL FILES) - test.com/system/pie/ (HAS 403 ERROR FOR ALL FILES) - test.com/system/pie/image.png (DOES NOT HAVE A 403 ERROR, AND THIS IMAGE IS EMBEDED ON A PAGE ON test.com e.g(test.com/pie/)) This sort of pattern repeats for about 10 different images. This directory is like a secret "system", however all of the content on the main site (test.com) is still accessible to everyone from the public.

  Has anyone had any luck compiling and installing Samba 3.0.24 on Ubuntu 10.04? I'm trying to set up realtime virus scanning on Samba shares (ClamAV) using the legacy version of Samba as it is the latest release supported by samba-vscan-0.3.6b. I'm no expert at this but I think I have all of the dependencies covered and I'm following the documentation with the source code but I'm getting errors as if there is a problem with the source code. I downloaded the source directly from http://ftp.samba.org/pub/samba/stable/samba-3.0.24.tar.gz After running ./configure and make, I get the following error.   I have got a new Samsung Series 7 laptop with dual boot setup for Windows 8 and Ubuntu 12.10. The Ubuntu installation was quite a hassle, but with the help of Boot Repair finally it seemed to work. Or so I thought. I already deactivated Hyperthreading in the BIOS, but it does not seem to help :-(

• replacing kernel on non-booting ec2 instance

  So I had an amazon ec2 instance crash during the update to 14.04LTS. Frustratingly, it appears the kernel might be bad (or at least that's what the log below says to me, I could totally be wrong). I'm able to mount the volume to another, working server, chroot the broken volume, and sudo apt-get remove linux-headers-3.MOSTRECENT. Unfortunately though, when I try sudo update-grub, it comes back with /usr/sbin/grub-probe: error: cannot find a device for / (is /dev mounted?). What am I missing?   Yesterday, I tried ubuntu 12.04 LTS and I liked it, so I installed it in my computer with Windows 8. I managed to create a disk partition in Windows and I named it U:\UBUNTU. Then I installed Ubuntu inside this partition, but now, when I try to enter in my Windows 8, it gives me an error message: error: Secure Boot forbids loading module from (hd0,gpt5)/boot/grub/ntfs.mod. error: no such device: 2402319002316706 error: unknow command 'drivemap'. error: invalid EFI file path. Press any key to continue... What can I do? Please I need urgent help, I need to access to Windows 8 and I don't want to lose any data... • Is this a reliable method of parsing glGetShaderInfoLog()?

  I want to get a list of errors and their line numbers so I can display the error information differently from how it's formatted in the error string and also to show the line in the output. It looks easy enough to just parse the result of glGetShaderInfoLog(), look for ERROR:, then read the next number up to :, and then the next, and finally the error description up to the next newline. However, the OpenGL docs say: Application developers should not expect different OpenGL implementations to produce identical information logs. This makes me worry that my code may behave incorrectly on different systems. I don't need them to be identical, I just need them to follow the same format. So is there a better way to get a list of errors with the line number separate, is it safe to assume that they'll always follow the "ERROR: 0:123:" format, or is there simply no reliable way to do this?

Since a week ago (I presume it must have been after I have update some gems) I cant seem to debug form the IDE. I am trying to debug a rake task which I could before. Running the rake task normally works perfect, just debug doesnt. Its not just limited to the rake, I cant debug any ruby files. I've tried installing older versions of debug-ide and debug-base but to no success. I've tried it with ruby 1.8.7 and 1.8.6 on different computers but nothing. • Using label tags in a validation summary error list?

  I was thinking about making use of <label> tags in my validation error summary on a failed form submit and I can't figure out if it is going to get me in trouble down the line. Can anyone think of a good reason to avoid this approach? Usability, functionality, design, or other issues are all helpful. I really like the idea of clicking a line item in the error list and being jumped to the offending input element, especially in a mobile HTML scenario where vertical orientation is more common and scrolling is a pain. So far the only problem I can find is that labels don't navigate for radio buttons or checkboxes without individual IDs (Clicking a label for a single ID-tagged radio/checkbox element alters its selection). It doesn't make it any worse than no label, though.   I have a Document class, Intro class and Nav class. The Intro class runs first, then sends a custom dispatch event to run the Nav class, but I'm getting this error: removed Intro ArgumentError: Error #1063: Argument count mismatch on com.secrettowriting.StanPlayer.ui::Navigation/addNav().
