  hi all i wana ask a question about crystal reporting in vs 2008 lets say i have a report with these data customer_ID Customer_Name Order_amoont Order_Date (#group1 VipCustomer) 1 xyz 3 1/1/2010 2 abc 4 2/2/2010 5 sds 21 3/12/2009 (#Group2 NormalCustomer) 3 tyt 2 3/3/2010 4 ha 4 21/3/2009 i want only to display records where Order_Date year is in 2010 only so i went to the section expert and i added a condintion in suppress formula Year(order_Date)=2010 and i get the result ,,the question is how to count how many vip customers ordered in 2010 only and how many normal customer order in 2010 only ,,then i want the total number of both type of customers to be displayed to have a report like that:: customer_ID Customer_Name Order_amoont Order_Date (#group1 VipCustomer) 1 xyz 3 1/1/2010 2 abc 4 2/2/2010 subtotal 2 (#Group2 NormalCustomer) 3 tyt 2 3/3/2010 subtotal 1 total 3 thnx

  Hi, I've read all questions like mine and found a few good links. My question is about architect of WCF, how it is designed, how is generated reference.vb, wsdl and xsd files. How can I do that manually, some good examples of WCF Systems (mostly on desktop applications over TCP). I'd like a book or documentation or anything else, that can give me advanced knowledge of WCF. • Play sound in mobile browser?

  I want to make myself a web based stop watch for training that I can use on my Blackberry mobile browser. The stopwatch should count 3 minutes, then ring a bell, wait 1 minute, then ring another bell and then repeat. My problem is I can't seem to get sound to work on my blackberry browser. I tried using <embed src="bell.wav"> which works fine in the browser of a normal computer, but it doesn't make a sound on my blackberry. Should I build this stopwatch with Javascript and HTML or should I build it with flash?

Ex: People Name Age -------- Jane 27 Joe 36 Jim 16 Properties Name Property ----------------- Jane Smart Jane Funny Jane Good-looking Joe Smart Joe Workaholic Jim Funny Jim Young I would like to write an efficient select that would select people based on age and return all or some of their properties. Ex: People older than 26 Name Properties Jane Smart, Funny, Good-looking Joe Smart, Workaholic It's also acceptable to return one of the properties and total property count. The query should be efficient: there are millions of rows in people table, hundreds of thousands of rows in properties table (so most people have no properties). There are hundreds of rows selected at a time. Is there any way to do it?

• Does a .NET 4.0 website load faster for a reason?

  I have been using DotNetBlogEngine for many years, and today my host (JodoHost.com) officially turned on support for .NET 4.0. What I've noticed immediately is that the website loads tremendously faster on the first load, subsequent loads are only slightly faster. The website is compiled as a .NET 2.0 web application. Is there a known reason for this performance increase? Was there a change in the .NET 4.0 framework that improved the initial load time of websites into an application pool? • How to tell if any entities in context are dirty with .Net Entity Framework 4.0

  I want to be able to tell if there is any unsaved data in an entity framework context. I have figured out how to use the ObjectStateManager to check the states of existing entities, but there are two issues I have with this. I would prefer a single function to call to see if any entities are unsaved instead of looping though all entities in the context. I can't figure out how to detect entities I have added. This suggests to me that I do not fully understand how the entity context works. For example, if I have the ObjectSet myContext.Employees, and I add a new employee to this set (with .AddObject), I do not see the new entity when I look at the ObjectSet and I also don't see the .Count increase. However, when I do a context.SaveChanges(), my new entity is persisted...huh? I have been unable to find an answer to this in my msdn searches, so I was hoping someone here would be able to clue me in. Thanks in advance.

  Here is the scenario: I have a table that records the user_id, the module_id, and the date/time the module was viewed. eg. The row data is then the user_id and the count of the number of times that user viewed each module. eg. --------------------------------- User_ID red green blue white --------------------------------- 1 2 1 2 0 2 0 1 1 0 3 1 2 1 0 4 0 0 0 1 I was initially thinking that I could do this with PIVOT, but no dice; the database is a converted SQL Server 2000 DB that is running in SQL Server 2005. I'm not able to change the compatibility level, so pivot is out. How can I accomplish this?

  I have a set of values that I'm pushing into an array in the order they occur $valsArray = array(); //I process each value from a file (code removed for simplicity) //and then add into the array $valsArray[] = $val; How do I turn this into an associative array instead where the value gets inserted (as $key of associative array) only if it doesn't exist. If it does exist increment its count ($value of associative array) by 1. I'm trying to find a more efficient way of handling those values compared to what I'm doing now.

• Adding Boost Library to a C++ project in Windows Eclipse

  I recently installed the Boost Library on Windows using the installer, I'm trying to link to the library in Eclipse but am not having any luck. I tried going through Project Properties - C/C++ Build - Settings - MinGW C++ Linker - Libraries and add the reference "boost_filesystem" according to this website: http://www.ferdychristant.com/blog//archive/DOMM-76JN6N , but I think that only applies to Unix variants. Everytime I compile I get the error: "cannot find -lboost_filesystem" . I've scoured the net, but cannot find a way to properly use Boost in Eclipse under a Windows platform. Any help or suggestions are appreciated.

• How do I create an ImageView in java code, within an existing Layout?

  I'm looking for an easy way for the user to see how many drinks they've had for a BAC calculator. PICTURE OF THE APP, for reference On button press, I would like an image to be added to the screen, directly under the spinner and with left alignment. When I press the button again, I want another image to be added to the screen. So if I pressed the add beer button, a drawable of a beer would appear below the spinner. If I pressed the add beer button again, I want there to be TWO drawables of beers under the spinner, preferably with them being added from the right. (Also, having them reach their width limit, wrapping around, and starting again on the left, but below a full line, would be AWESOME) I can't figure out how to do this. I assume adding a ImageView in code to a relative layout (because it needs to be positioned to the right) would be the best route, but if it's possible in xml I'd be more than happy to use that. Any help?

  I have been seeing the following error message a lot whenever I run something in the simulator: dyld: Symbol not found: _objc_collect_if_needed Referenced from: /Developer/Platforms/iPhoneSimulator.platform/Developer/SDKs/iPhoneSimulator3.1.sdk/System/Library/Frameworks/Foundation.framework/Foundation Expected in: /usr/lib/libobjc.A.dylib in /Developer/Platforms/iPhoneSimulator.platform/Developer/SDKs/iPhoneSimulator3.1.sdk/System/Library/Frameworks/Foundation.framework/Foundation I am running XCode 3.2.2 on OS X 10.6.3, and have reinstalled the SDK twice with no avail. This error makes running any code on the simulator something of a Russian Roulette, but with 5 out of 6 chambers loaded. I have checked the files mentioned in the error message, and they all checkout as being present. This sometimes go away if I restart XCode. Other times I have to logout, or even restart. And sometimes nothing works. I have googled this, even tried apple's developer forums. Other than a reference to this in the MonoTouch list, this bug appears to be completely unknown otherwise. Anything help would be greatly appreciated - this is a real PITA. Cheers, Steve

  hi all, i've a little problem, i've add a default.png in my app and it work. I've modify my file, delete file and reference and upload my new file. On my iphone the image does not appear, only some second of blackscreen and after my app start. In the simulator the splashscreen appear. I've try to delete my app on iphone, make a clean all and rebuild & install but nothing... I've try to make clean all, close xcode, delete default.png to my project directory (sometimes exist, sometimes no), open xcode, add my file and build & install on my iphone but nothing... Any ideas?

Since we are starting out without funding, price/performance and cost of licences/hardware is important. We definitely want to bring AJAX well present in the web interface. I'm most experienced with C#/ASP.net, PHP and Java, in that order, but don't turn down other languages (Ruby, Python, Scala, etc.). How can we determine from the jungle of frameworks the one that suits best our goal? What other questions should we be asking ourselves? • SVG with external images doesn't load them when embedded with <img> tag in browsers

  I made the following observation: If I create an svg image that references an external raster image via "xlink:href" and try to load the svg in browsers, the external images are only shown if I use the tag, but not when using the tag. Rendering with the tag is quite slow and not as clean as using the img tag for images so I was wondering if there's a way to make it work through the tag. At first I thought it doesn't work because of a same origin policy, but even if the referenced image is in the same directory and I reference it through its name only, it wont load. Any ideas?

As I understand it, the hash or array or whatever I use to store the called references to the windows opened this way will be lost if the calling window is closed. Is there a way to make this work even if the calling window is closed and reopened? To basically ask the browser: "Do you have a window open with the following URL?" and if so, "What is the reference to that window?" (so I can raise it).

• Bash commands not executed when through cron job - PHP

  Hi there! I have a cron job running a PHP script every five minutes; the PHP script executes two bash commands at the end of the script. I know the script is running due to a log file it appends to. When I run the PHP script manually via the Ubuntu Gnome Terminal both bash commands execute flawlessly; however when the PHP script is triggered via cron, the two bash commands are not ran. • System.Drawing.Image for Images in Business Objects?

  Hi Folks I'd like to store an image in a business object. In MSDN I saw that the System.Drawing-namespace provides lots of GDI+-features, etc. Is it okay to store an Image in an System.Drawing.Image class in business layer (which is a class library "only"), and thus including a reference to System.Drawing too? I slightly feel just kind of bad doing that, 'cause it seems like I have UI-specific references in business code. Moreover, the code could become unnecessarily platform-dependant (though this is only a problem in theory, because we do not develop for multiple platforms). If it isn't right that way, which type would fit best? Thank you for any response! Matthias

• How does load balancing work with multiple server with multiple DBs

  I guess what im looking for is a description on how this all works together. I'm used to setting up one server with maybe another server to handel the DB. My question is how does the load balancer work where do all the script(php,python) files go? If i make a change to one i have to rsync them to all the server that the balancer refers to? Also does each server need client side DB's installed so they can reference the DB's that are on other servers? If there is a site that explains all this i would be happy to read it.

• Issue with SOAPUI: running test for concurrency

  I am trying to test my web service using SOAPUI (the free version). For testing concurrency, I wished to fire concurrent threads from SOAPUI onto the service. But with the options, the thread count increases gradually (even in the burst mode). The machine where SOAPUI is installed is a WinXP machine. Can I actually do the concurrency testing? If so how? • "Arbitrary" context free grammars?

  Long time admirer first time inquirer :) I'm working on a program which derives a deterministic finite-state automata from a context-free grammar, and the paper I have been assigned which explains how to do this keeps referring to "arbitrary probabilistic context-free grammars" but never defines the meaning of "arbitrary" in relation to PCFGs. I assume they mean "any old PCFG" but then why not just say "any PCFG"? The term also turns up in several Wikipedia entries. At the top of the CFG page there is a reference to arbitrariness in relation to CFGs on ("clauses can be nested inside clauses arbitrarily deeply"), but doesn't make clear why someone would refer to a PCFG or subset of PCFGs as arbitrary. In case anyone is curious, the paper is Parsing and Hypergraphs by Klein and Manning (2001); I've also been reading two other papers by them related to this one (An Agenda-Based Chart Parser for Arbitrary Probabilistic Context-Free Grammars and Empirical Bounds, Theoretical Models, and the Penn Treebank) which use the term extensively but never explain it either. What I am missing?
